  1. Was hoping this would be an interesting match but Forest look terrified and have been dominated. Now basically game over at 1-0 unless they suddenly gain some balls to actually play football. Madueke has annoyingly looked very good since joining Arse. Been the best player on the pitch here by far.
  2. What a random time to announce a new signing 🤣 The club planning ahead in anticipation of a potential transfer ban? If so, expect even more activity in January. Whether that’s more pre-agreements for players to join in the summer or right away. Tbf, a transfer ban might not be the worse thing for us and is much better than a points deduction or other silly sanctions.
  3. Matt Law says the club feel like it’ll just be a fine rather than anything serious. If they punish the current players on the pitch or even the ownership who weren’t even here back then it’ll be a complete disgrace.
  4. How can you even explain why the club is being charged for shit that happened a decade ago+ other than someone at the FA has an axe to grind against Chelsea? What a joke. If they punish the current team/ownership for stuff that may have happened 10 years before any of them were even at the club then the club should aggressively fight the FA in court.
  5. I think Wharton ansolutely does have world class potential. Love it if we are indeed after him in future windows. The part about Lavia being wanted by another big PL club seems extremely far fetched, though. Nobody is going near him until he can show he can stay fit for several months straight. We still have no clue wtf is even wrong with him and he’s just mysteriously out for weeks yet again. That seems to happen over and over.
  6. I can’t picture any situation in which we sell Tosin or Trev. If CB’s are moved on next summer they’re going to be Fofana and Badiashile. Disasi will surely go in January. Jorgensen I can see being more willing to stay and be #2 behind Lenders than Sanchez will be if that’s what the plan is. The only one of our big players I could see going is Enzo if he has a mediocre season and both he and the club feel like he needs a change of scenery.
  7. Weird that injured Badiashile and Levi are in the List A squad but Acheampong isn’t. Even if Badiashile was 100% fit I’d still rather Josh be in there.
  8. Almost certainly won’t need any wide attackers. Likewise fullbacks. If Penders does really well on loan that’s keeper sorted. But I can definitely imagine that if Lavia spends 80% of yet another season injured and Essugo doesn’t cut it we go big on someone like Wharton. If this Buonanotte kid actually plays regularly and does well I suppose we’d keep him for good. Can also see us going for a world class CB.
  9. So what’s the UEFA sanction situation now after that window? Are we still restricted in future windows? Will we be able to go big next summer?
  10. Man, I really fucking hate these international breaks. We have to wait 2 weeks to see your new players and we have 2 weeks being anxious as hell about some of our key guys picking up injuries.
  11. That Bayern kit is horrific looking, goddamn! Of course Jackson and his agent had to get a dig in at Chelsea in their statements. Don’t blame him but it’s still annoying. It’s fine that Nico is upset at how he was treated at the end but he has to remember that it’s 100% down to his own behavior and play that led to this. The red cards, the cynical behavior on the pitch, the constantly fluffing easy chances. He and his agent basically saying “now he’s at a proper club” kind of takes away any sympathy I had for him.
  12. Almost feels like Fulham fucked us over purposely after being so salty about the match. They had deals for like 3 new wide attackers including Tyrique being worked on at the same time and chose the other 2 instead of him.
  13. He has looked awful up top. He has no idea what to do there. He got effortlessly bullied by Andersen against Fulham because he’s not used to playing with his back to goal.
  14. Absolute clown show of an end to the window. Amateur hour all around. From the Jackson circus, to the Guiu debacle, to not being able to shift Sterling or Disasi anywhere, and now poor Tyrique George has to sit around for at least until January. And that’s not even mentioning the Xavi chase for 2 months leading to him signing for fucking Spuds. George was already getting very limited games. wtf is he going to do now that we’ve signed 2 new players for big money in his position?
  15. So it looks like a deal was agreed but still nothing has actually been announced. No word of a deal sheet or anything.
  16. Guehi to Liverpool apparently off now! They could be seriously vulnerable with 1 injury to a CB. They’ve looked super shaky even with VVD and Konate fit. As hard as we will need to pray for João Pedro’s health, Liverpool need to do the same for VVD at age 35 or whatever he is.
  17. Did George’s move fall through? Haven’t seen anything since this morning.
  18. Overall I’d give our window a 6.5 or 7 out of 10. Delap, João Pedro, and Hato are all excellent buys for me. We brought in Estevão who looks great already. Santos and Essugo look like they’ll be very useful. So in terms of beefing up our squad with quality depth we’ve done very well. But the signings of Gittens, Garnacho, and Buononotte are very 50/50 and we won’t know if these are good buys for several months once we’ve seen them play a run of games. No new top keeper, no new top CB. Left ourselves dangerously thin up top after the Delap injury. Most annoyingly, we KNEW that we needed 1 more difference making attacker and identified both Xavi & later Fermin to fill that role. But after getting every fan so excited we were hamstrung by being unable to sell Jackson. So overall we bought decently, sold mostly extremely well, improved the squad but didn’t improve it enough, and still have some unresolved issues. Not amazing, not poor. Just “pretty good” I would say.
  19. Where they’re vulnerable is defensively and in the DM positions with just a couple of injuries. Even when Salah is out of form he can still cause defenders nightmares and you’ve always got to respect him. If they lose VVD they’re in big trouble against the other top teams. Now there’s apparently trouble with the Guehi deal. They really need him since Konate has been shit and also got injured yesterday.
  20. We would’ve heard something hours ago if anything else was a possibility. Our incoming business is over. All about whether we can flog the last of the deadwood. How we’re going to move them when nothing appears close is beyond me.
  21. German side saying that Jackson’s obligation only kicks in after a certain number of apparences. So Bayern can absolutely fuck us over and play games here as payback for this whole saga. Leave him 1 appearnece shy of what’s needed for the clause to kick in.
  22. As long as that obligation for Jackson is a classic obligation where they MUST buy him no matter what then it’s a brilliant deal. If it’s the kind of obligation that Knly triggers if Jackson scores a certain amount of goals or makes a certain number of appearances or something like that then it’s a shit deal.
  23. We basically need to say a prayer before every match that João Pedro stays fit. Closing the summer transfer window TWO SEASON’S IN A ROW with 1 senior striker for the foreseeable future is madness.
  24. Fulham is a brilliant move for Tyrique. Gets to stay home in London and develop under a fantastic manager. Probably would’ve been wise to include some sort of buy back clause in case he blows up.
