  1. We will almost 100% not be getting a new GK so we can put that to bed. I’d be stunned if we get another CF either with Emegha and maybe even Jackson returning. I maintain that we don’t need much. Or perhaps to better put it, we don’t have THAT many glaring holes in the squad. It’s just that the few we do have are costing us big time. For me we badly need a dominant CB, a top class LW, and another high quality body in CM if Lavia gets injured once again. We don’t need a total rebuild or major surgery like we did a couple of years ago.
  2. True. Personnel wise we won’t need too much in the summer, we just need to be smart and not blow huge money on super risky signings like fucking Gittens. Like United, we should actually consider targeting some of the best players within the PL who don’t play for the top teams like they did with Mbuemo and Cunha. Players who wouldn’t care about UCL football and would jump at the shlt to step up to a huge club.
  3. People need to get used to the idea that this summer is going to be brutal in terms of transfers. We already weren’t shopping in the top bracket of players under this ownership but it’ll be even more so now. We will probably have to be purely sell to buy for the foreseeable future and also will be forced to sell some key players we will probably be very angry about.
  4. The players partying and relaxing for a few days shouldn’t fucking matter against Burnley at home. We created a dozen chances good enough to win that game and they choked or scuffed their lines. If we had sleepwalked through that with zombieball and our players still looked hung over that’s one thing. Then you could say the mini holiday was a factor. That’s not the case over the 90 minutes where we should’ve scored a bunch on guilt edged chances. The Palmer we saw at his best would be having a 20 PL goal season from open play in this current team. The fact that he is still miles off that level is killing us. Likewise Estevão being constantly in and out of the squad with injuries or personal matters. Feels like we haven’t seen a run of games with him, João Pedro and Palmer together more than like a couple of times.
  5. Rosenior mostly gets a pass from me for this one. As a manager your job is to put your best attackers in positions to score or cause danger to defenders and that’s exactly what he did here. Palmer, Neto, and Pedro all had golden chances to put this game out of reach and fucked all of them. Numerous times standing in space inside the box and fucked it up every time. Manager can’t put the ball in the net. The chance creation was there, the midfield control was there, the limiting of the opponent to minimal chances was there. What wasn’t was our finishing when dominant which is a problem again and again.
  6. Be a bit hard for them when we don’t have UCL next season. And we’ve already been struggling to find a permanent shirt sponsor so imagine how difficult is going to be to convince some company to fork over mega money on us once we aren’t in the elite competition. Yeah, unlike us I can actually picture Liverpool going on a long winning run to end the season if they get on a roll of 2-3 wins. We basically need to play completely out of our skin week after week against top sides WITH UCL and FA Cup sprinkled in. I just cannot see how we do it with this squad. The mentality and maturity simply isn’t there.
  7. Liverpool have had multiple midseason “crisis runs” where their fanbase has been on fire and calling for the manager’s head and yet they’re still almost certainly going to leapfrog us and take that final UCL spot in the end. That is how costly these last 2 matches have been.
  8. I really do think that in form Palmer from years past makes all the difference. It’s almost as simple as that for me. Other than Joao Pedro this season we don’t have a single other reliable source of goals. If Palmer was himself these dropped points from winning positions don’t happen. Because we would be scoring 3-4 goals in all these games against shit teams. Hell, even in poor form he should be scoring these 1 on 1 chances. His touch, his decision making, and his body language have been terrible for months now.
  9. Yep. There dies our Champions League hopes in all likelihood. Dead at the hands of Leeds and Burnley at home when leading and dominating for large portions of each match. May sound harsh, but I’m putting a HUGE amount of blame on Cole Palmer today. The Palmer of the past couple of seasons has a hat trick today. His abysmal form in open play cost us that game. We should have been completely out of sight and had Burnley demoralized and out of the game.
  10. This should seriously be 6-7 for us and now the entire match is in jeopardy. Fucking hell.
  11. We would be 3 or 4-0 up on another day when we were sharper. All now setting up for a ridiculous Ward Prowse free kick worldie out of nothing to cost us 3 points.
  12. It feels like we’ve been completely caught by surpsie by Burnley’s approach today. We thought they’d let us play our free flowing, quick passing stuff and they’d not even try to come out of their half. Instead, they’re super compact at the back which has shut us down after the goal and they’re also pressing aggressively which we clearly haven’t expected. I don’t think I’ve seen a team have the mentality issue we do right now where we consistently let our levels drop AFTER we go ahead. Time and again.
  13. We’ve actually allowed Burnley to get BETTER after WE went 1-0 up. wtf are we doing?
  14. Feels like Estevão just mysteriously vanishes from match day squads again and again without us ever hearing about injuries ahead of time.
  15. You can cross any player of Dembele’s profile off the list before even letting yourself dream. He’s probably already on some crazy salary at PSG that we wouldn’t go near.
  16. In the clips I’m seeing on Twitter he looks really good like he always does when he’s fit. Sadly, that won’t last long.
  17. That is a HIDEOUS shirt sponsor and it’s also once again just another short term bandaid deal. Of course it had to be some random AI slop company. For the life of me, of all the strange and questionable things that have happened under BlueCo, them apparently being complete.y unable to secure us a long term, super high profile/prestigious shirt sponsor is the weirdest and most puzzling thing. These guys are supposed to be business and finance geniuses and we’ve scrounged around for FOUR YEARS looking for a sponsor only to end up here?
  18. Not exactly encouraging that both of the young and exciting prospects we pre-signed for the summer currently have major injuries before even joining. 😑
  19. I think he’d definitely come here, yes. But would we spend the monster amount that Forest will ask for is the question. With UCL money, perhaps. Probably also depends on how good Sarr looks the rest of this season.
  20. Tbh, even speculating about potential targets right now is pointless. We’ll surely have a list of players we can target if we achieve UCL football and another fallback list of ones we can go for if we don’t. For instance, I highly doubt we’ll be going for any of the mega expensive midfielders if we don’t get that extra money. Instead of Anderson/Wharton/Tonali we’d probably just bring Barco over from Strasbourg. Which to me I’d actually prefer. And as for CB it’s probably a case of get UCL football - buy super expensive and ready made CB, don’t get UCL football - probably just recall Anselmino and have Colwill, Fofana, Sarr, Trev, and Anselmino as our options at the back.
  21. Doubt we’ll ever hear his name mentioned with us again. Was probably in the “break glass in case of emergency” bucket with Douglas Luiz specifically in the January window if we needed an extra body.
  22. Was only a matter of time until one of our big players this season got a significant injury and I’ve always been concerned that it would be either Caicedo or Cucu considering how many minutes they play. He will apparently be out a month but with hamstring injuries you have to be so careful. Thankfully I think Hato is starting to get more and more comfortable in the team since Rosenior came in and will only get better with more reps. We’re definitely going to lose quite a bit defensively with Cucu out but this is why we spent so much on such a young and super promising talent like Hato. He’s got to step up.
  23. Massive indictment on his time here that he just didn’t seem to fancy Santos at all for some reason. It makes no sense. The level of calm, the positional sense, the intelligence out of possession. He would’ve helped us so much earlier in the season if he was playing. Maresca may still be the manager right now.
  24. That’s the exact move that Delap should be doing week in and week out. That’s his game at his best. Stop trying to do too much.
  25. That’s almost as comical as the second we conceded against Leeds.
