WTF ARE WE DOING
-
That’s twice now Gittens is caught offside on a simple pass out.
-
After the surprising starting place he was handed, I thought Facundo looked very good. No idea why we’ve taken him off. And now fucking George up top again 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
-
Tosin is super solid in most circumstances and I really like him as a player but he’s got 2 very unfortunate weaknesses that are especially exposed against small teams like this who play on the counter. One is that his recovery pace is abysmal. Play a ball like Henderson just did over his shoulder to a fast attacker and he’s dead. Turns and runs like a giant cruise ship. And the other is that if he’s then isolated 1v1 against a fast attacker he doesn’t have the lateral quickness to deal with it well.
-
We finally start playing the ball around quicker AFTER conceding that shit goal. 🙄 Maresca really has to work on the team starting matches with far more intensity and a killer instinct. It’s like we always try to feel our way into a match slowly and it’s biting us in the ass in nearly every match thus far. These small teams like Palace, Brentford, Fulham WANT you to play slowly and keep everything in front of them. They cannot deal with big teams who play quickly and sharply so this is their tactic. And we have once again played right into their hands. Every side has done this to us this season.
-
They’re missing their 2 best current attackers, too. After being decimated in the summer.
-
Yet another poor start to a match this season. Palace, Fulham, West Ham, and now here.
-
Ridiculous that BOTH CB’s get caught out by that.
-
Fucking embarrassing.
-
Hato needs to sharpen up just like Gittens. This isn’t Ajax where you have forever on the ball. Getting caught on it repeatedly.
-
Brentford time wasting already, ffs
-
Far too slow in possession once again against a well organized defense.
-
Gittens is already looking like Mudryk 2.0 Looks in over his head and scared shitless.
-
Must win this one with the fixtures we’ve got coming up. Both for confidence/momentum and to keep up with the other big boys who will continue to win themselves. This isn’t close to the super dangerous Brentford from last season. And even today they’re starting without a couple of their current best players. Zero excuse whatsoever not to win this today.
-
not even on the bench
-
Well that sure is a surprising XI! I was saying when we announced the signing that we’d probably never see Buonanotte start a PL match for us and he starts the very first one 🤣🤣🤣 But please don’t tell me Estevão is fucking injured now too…
-
Yeah, I’m not annoyed at all that we sold him. Don’t and won’t regret it because he was so frustrating. What could end up bothering me is that the wide attackers we brought in to replace him may end up being even more frustrating than he was while Madueke thrives at a hated rival.
-
Was hoping this would be an interesting match but Forest look terrified and have been dominated. Now basically game over at 1-0 unless they suddenly gain some balls to actually play football. Madueke has annoyingly looked very good since joining Arse. Been the best player on the pitch here by far.
-
What a random time to announce a new signing 🤣 The club planning ahead in anticipation of a potential transfer ban? If so, expect even more activity in January. Whether that’s more pre-agreements for players to join in the summer or right away. Tbf, a transfer ban might not be the worse thing for us and is much better than a points deduction or other silly sanctions.
-
Matt Law says the club feel like it’ll just be a fine rather than anything serious. If they punish the current players on the pitch or even the ownership who weren’t even here back then it’ll be a complete disgrace.
-
How can you even explain why the club is being charged for shit that happened a decade ago+ other than someone at the FA has an axe to grind against Chelsea? What a joke. If they punish the current team/ownership for stuff that may have happened 10 years before any of them were even at the club then the club should aggressively fight the FA in court.
-
I think Wharton ansolutely does have world class potential. Love it if we are indeed after him in future windows. The part about Lavia being wanted by another big PL club seems extremely far fetched, though. Nobody is going near him until he can show he can stay fit for several months straight. We still have no clue wtf is even wrong with him and he’s just mysteriously out for weeks yet again. That seems to happen over and over.
-
I can’t picture any situation in which we sell Tosin or Trev. If CB’s are moved on next summer they’re going to be Fofana and Badiashile. Disasi will surely go in January. Jorgensen I can see being more willing to stay and be #2 behind Lenders than Sanchez will be if that’s what the plan is. The only one of our big players I could see going is Enzo if he has a mediocre season and both he and the club feel like he needs a change of scenery.
-
Weird that injured Badiashile and Levi are in the List A squad but Acheampong isn’t. Even if Badiashile was 100% fit I’d still rather Josh be in there.
-
Almost certainly won’t need any wide attackers. Likewise fullbacks. If Penders does really well on loan that’s keeper sorted. But I can definitely imagine that if Lavia spends 80% of yet another season injured and Essugo doesn’t cut it we go big on someone like Wharton. If this Buonanotte kid actually plays regularly and does well I suppose we’d keep him for good. Can also see us going for a world class CB.
