I honestly thought Juan would go on to become a club legend. That he would finish his career as a Chelsea player. Instead we're going to sell him to our biggest rival of the last decade and kick start their squad rebuild. Chelsea Football Club is going to HELP Manchester United return to being a top class side. Disgusting. The way they fucked us over Rooney in the summer by telling us to do one, and we're going to send them Mata?
-
It'll be nearly as bad seeing him in that red shirt getting countless assists for RvP.
-
If we negotiate with them that Rooney comes to us in the summer and they indeed just give us ~£40m now, I'd be okay with us using a chunk of that on Shaw this month and saving the rest of it for the summer to go towards someone else.
-
I'd be fine if he was sold and replaced with an equally good player. This is looking like a cash only sale. Does nothing for us as supporters until we know Jose's plan. I'll be outraged until that point.
-
Sorry. He'll always be known as Cheatcharito to me after that offside goal he was allowed against us last season that basically ruined our season league-wise.
-
One is the best striker on the planet and the other only scores tap ins and can barely get a game over Danny Welbeck.
-
If I ever saw that cunt Cheatcharito in our shirt I'd have to end my life. I NEVER want to see him near our team. The only name that would immediately make me fine with selling Mata to United is Suarez. And that ain't happening.
-
How would Jose justify this in his next press conference if another world class replacement isn't bought this month? "The player wanted to go and play, so we let him." To MANCHESTER FUCKING UNITED!?
-
Fucking disgrace. What striker are we going to get in January? Why would Costa leave Atletico who are top of the league, in the CL, and he's just become a naturalized Spaniard? Falcao and Cavani have just moved to their new clubs, so why would they be sold? No way Liverpool sell us Suarez mid season, and United are apparently refusing to sell us Rooney. That's the caliber of player we need and they're all unavailable. This would be a MASSIVE mistake.
-
But if it does work they have a world class player who's only 25 that would be playing against us and helping United potentially win trophies for years to come. That alone is more than reason enough to never sell him there. It would be worse than the RvP sale in my opinion. He is aging and super injury prone as has been proven once more this season. We'd be giving them a young player who never gets injured and likely isn't even in the prime of his career yet and is already world class.
-
I just can't understand why we would even consider selling him there. I wouldn't care if they were in 15th I wouldn't sell him there. You'd just have to assume there'd be someone coming in to replace him immediately or the supporters would go ballistic, me included. Giving Manchester United our best player. Just think about how insane that sounds.
-
Shit, man, for £375m they can have Mikel too.
-
Hilarious that they actually think they can refuse to sell us their best player but think we'll agree to sell them ours. Fucking clowns. Midtable clubs don't dictate the terms. We have all the power in this situation, you cunts!
-
I don't know about that, mate.If Rooney plays like he has so far this season for us I think we'd win the title. Especially if he's played in his preferred position. He'll want to prove his doubters and detractors wrong and repay the faith Mourinho has in him. I think he'd be a beast for us. The only way this move happens, I hope.
-
I thought he played on the right?
-
Exactly. Unless we immediately use the cash to go and get Reus or get Rooney in exchange than it makes no sense to sell him for straight cash. Might not effect us much this season but I'd absolutely dread playing United with Mata in the future.
-
Ha!I'm panicking, Zolayes, panicking!
-
Okay, there really are some reputable journo's reporting this story now and it's a bit concerning. The figure and details seem so specific to just be randomly made up. Someone close to the situation may really have heard something.
-
Just the thought of Mata in that red shirt infuriates me.
-
So who's organizing the boycott if Mata is sold to United? Unless we get Rooney in return THIS MONTH then no way. None of this "give us Mata now and we'll let you have Rooney in the summer" bullshit that United fans are talking about. Would be an absolute outrage if he's sold there without us getting anything in return other than cash.
-
Never said I expected that of him. When your biggest strength and asset is your size and physicality like Lukaku's are, you have to be able to hold up the ball, bring other players into play, and distribute it accurately. His first touch is frankly very poor. The ball goes in and often bounces off of his feet 5 yards away from him giving the other team possession. He also puts the blinders on and tries to do too much at times. These are all things that come with development and coaching so he'll obviously get better.
-
I wouldn't call Everton a top team. I'm talking about a team regularly competing for titles and in the biggest competitions. That nod on for the goal was all he did for the entire 90 minutes. I'm a huge Lukaku fan and really want him to develop into a top player for us, but he needs a LOT of work and refinement still. And he certainly wouldn't have gotten that here this season.
-
He's been awful today. It's performances like this that prove the loan to be the correct choice. Not good enough for a top team yet. Still far too raw.
-
Lukaku's first touch hasn't improved at all I see. He's given the ball away about 3 times already due to a really poor first touch.
-
He just personally rubbished it on twitter. As expected.
