Don't understand why we'd be constrained by FFP at all, really. United and City both have higher wage bills than us but aren't showing any concerns about FFP at all. Both will easily spend £100m and likely much more in United's case. I'd say we are, yes. I actually love when people get angry at us and hate us when we're winning. It's times like this after the Atleti match and the recent slump we've been in where it gets really annoying and infuriating. Every pundit, every analyst, every journalist, and every supporter talking only about Chelsea and how boring we are or how defensive we play or how we play like a "small" club. You can be sure that at least once per week until their next manager is appointed there will be journalists saying how sad he is and how glum he looks and we'll hear that bullshit story about how he was in tears that he didn't get the job. If José blinks twice in quick succession it's a sign that he desperately wants the job. If he goes a day without shaving and has a bit of stubble in his next press conference we'll see people commenting on how he looks "haggard and tired" and how he's depressed about settling for his 2nd option Chelsea.

I'm sure it would be appealing to him at least a little bit because their ownership would be so desperate to return to the top that they'd probably let José spend £200m to totally strip and rebuild the side. Thing is, he's got a nearly complete "Mourinho" side here already and is only 2-3 players away. No way can I see him going there at any point during his current contract. Their only shot was last summer and they've missed it.
