Our name isn't really even being mentioned anymore as one of the clubs in contact with Juve/Pogba. Mentally, I'm already resigned to the fact that we won't bother being dragged into a summer-long bidding war that'll possibly end in huge disappointment.
-
Would be strange having a CB that can dribble past people and bring the ball out. All for us signing him if Varane is impossible.
-
How he plays on the ball, I'm saying.
-
Hes already a very good player with potential to become much better. In terms of the way he plays I'd compare him to Xavi. Really tidy and elegant in the ball. Great in tight spaces, great at set pieces, excellent array of passes in his locker.May not be as spectacular as some of the other Spanish midfielders in terms of dribbling and "tekkers," but he plays very intelligently and has great stamina.

Looks like shits going down, boys and girls! PLEASE BE TRUE! But Filipe
-
Yes, in my opinion.
-
Really is sounding less and less likely we'll sign him. Or that our interest was ever even concrete. My guess is PSG.
-
It's hilarious visiting RAWK and seeing their opinions on Benteke. They're all acting as if he's beneath them. That they should be aiming higher. The same thing they said about Bony and Remy last summer who are both miles better than what they have. Would be fantastic if we signed him and he destroys teams like he is now whilst Liverpoop sign a relegation fodder striker like Ings and he flops.
-
Certainly won't be cheap. He's their best and by far their most important player. Their talisman.Losing him may set them back massively because they can't attract anyone on his level to replace him even with the money they'll get for selling. He'll probably cost between £25-30m.

I just hope the way we worked the transfer window last summer is the new norm rather than an exception. We should be looking to get our top targets in ASAP so that they have a whole summer to work with the team and get settled. We demonstrated this season how important and vital a strong start to the campaign is. We can't afford to chase ghosts all summer only for the players to sign elsewhere or end up being unobtainable. I'll say this again like I did in another thread, I hope our board and José are thinking along the same lines as we the fans are. We need a couple of top class signings and not just a few players to fill out the squad. We can't just think that because we walked the league this year with these players that we will next season with just a bit more squad depth. All of our rivals will be spending unprecedented amounts of cash in all likelihood on world class players. We have to target players who will take our FIRST XI to the next level. We need to do the same to remain ahead and create something special. A dynasty like José said he wanted.
-
Being heavily linked with City again it appears. Reports that they'll go absolutely all out for him by offering ridiculous sums. I still just can't picture the most sought after and talented yang player in world football going to such a small time, nothing club like Man City. He can go literally anywhere he chooses. hed be taking a step DOWN by leaving Juve for City. He deserves to go to an actual big, globally supported and respected club and play for one of the world's top managers.
-
They're trying to "pull a Chelsea" by getting their business done super early. Hopefully this signing takes them out of the running for Bale if it was even possible to sign him anyways.
-
Agree with this. Pedro is a very good player but I'd rather us sign someone both younger and better.
-
Boateng looked like he got hit by a sniper!
-
My guess is he'd take Oscar's spot in the first XI rather than Willian's. Willian is great down the right with his energy and tracking back to help Ivanovic. I wouldn't want him out of the side and I doubt José would either.
-
People thinking he is/would be a winger for us need to watch this. Like I said earlier, he is at his best with freedom in the center where Oscar occupies now. That's where I'd want him. He and Hazard interchanging would be magical.
-
Looks totally lost, uncomfortable, and unhappy in that team. Just not a good fit in Madrid. He needs to come back to the PL and I think he'll be back to his best no doubt. Everyone here saying he's shit will be the same ones bitching if he goes to United and destroys the league again. I can see a Fabregas-like situation here if we got him. Played out of position all the time and overshadowed by superstars at Barca and then José makes him feel important and influential and plays him in his best position. The same thing would happen with Bale. Put him in the #10 area and watch him thrive. Also like Cesc, he'd be returning to a city and a league he knows.
-
Oh, there's no way we'd pay £100m for him that's for sure. I think if we were indeed after him we'd first sell a couple to partially fund it.As for Varane, I'd be shocked if we got him. Or any CB for that matter. Can't see José just dropping Cahill after the way he has rebounded this season and regained from. If we bought a world class CB this summer Cahill and Zouma would never play.
-
That's true. But is it not worth it? We walked the league this season without a tremendous amount of firepower up front. Imagine if we added another 25 goal scorer. The trophies we'd win and the TV money that'll be kicking in will make up for the huge transfer fee. He's also a super marketable player. He'd have one of the highest selling shirts in the world and would elevate our global profile even higher. It would be a signal of intent to the rest of Europe that we're ready to join the Real Madrid's, Barca's, and Bayern's of the world. Hazard is the most fouled player in Europe and wins us so many free kicks around the box. Imagine Bale taking those and scoring loads of screamers instead of floating in a hundred aimless crosses. Imagine a counter attack with Hazard, Bale, Willian, and Costa running at teams with Cesc spraying the ball up to them. He's homegrown, still young, proven that he can dominate the league, and is the absolute model of a José Mourinho player. No brainier.
-
We'd be absolutely unstoppable domestically if we signed Bale and Varane. This team would score 100+ goals and no one would dare say we're boring again.I really hope José begs Roman to allow him to sign Bale. The funds are there. Like GNev said yesterday, we'd dominate English football for years with him in our side.
-
Yes, he's easily better than Mikel. Not sure I'd want him here with his wages, injury record, and age.
-
No chance we're selling Ramires. One of José's favorite players and utility men. Mikel maybe just because he now has Zouma that can do essentially the same job. I really, REALLY hope José and the club are thinking the same thing we as fans are that we need another top class midfielder. I'm nervous that we'll just think "we have Loftus-Cheek in the squad so we don't need another midfielder." I think another striker is nailed on but I have no clue what else we have planned. I'd love Benteke but he'd cost a huge amount and I don't know if he'd play second fiddle to Costa.
-
This, exactly. No chance are we playing a weakened lineup. Not at home and certainly not against Liverpool.Maybe, just maybe we will against Sunderland in the final match, but even then I doubt it. I think José's home record does indeed mean something to him. I also think it would be nice to crack 90 points.
