  1. Spuds are the perfect example of a team that's brilliantly coached. This is all Pochettino. Loads of average players with a touch of class here and there but nothing too special talent wise. Everyone buys in to the coach and raises their game. They only have about 2 players who would make our XI. Which says a whole lot about how bad we've been with what we have this season.
  2. That may haunt Leicester for a while. Can see this as the turning point in their season. Wouldn't be surprised to see them slip away a bit. Gutting. I hate Arsenal with every fiber of my being.
  3. Cheers, guys. My first order of business is to permaban everyone I don't like!
  4. Is someone gonna tell our boys the second half has started!?
  5. Please don't make early changes and allow them back in it.
  6. Just like last weekend, the good result is overshadowed by an injury to one of our most important players. Pray it isn't serious for JT, otherwise we'll have no one organizing our defense.
  7. Worried about us in the middle of the pitch...
  8. On one hand, at Man United. On the other hand I don't want Mou to go there midsession, galvanize them, and they push on and finish in the top 4. I want them to stick with LvG for the remainder of the season and keep them out of the CL places. Would make our season a little more bearable if they also don't have CL next season.
  9. Will be interesting to see how Mourinho uses Martial. Will he be his Eden Hazard who plays wide or will he play behind the striker? Will also see if he sticks with Rooney as his striker or gets a younger, top class one for Martial to play off of. Either way, Martial is going to be a beast soon enough. Already excellent.
  10. I was saying all month that we shouldn't have even been after one at all. Save every last penny for the new manager. There's nothing to really play for this season now other than the FA Cup which we have enough firepower for. Pato just seems a bit of a pointless signing.
  11. If we were so desperate to buy a striker/attacker that we'd take one who's a month from match fitness, why wouldn't we instead just get one who was fit? That's why I'm personally puzzled by this move.
  12. You know he's going to stay. We'll hear "this will be the manager that will make him consistent" like we always do. Hes a player I want to love because he clearly has superb talent and shows sporadicly that he's capable of brilliance, but he does it once every 4-5 matches it seems like. He can look amazing one day and we call for him to be yanked at half time other days. Big dilemma with Oscar. I think that our attack would look so much better with a quality replacement for him but I also think that if we sold him he'd pull a Kevin De Bruyne and become a superstar somewhere else. This is why I'm not sure if we should get rid. We kind of have to see what the next manager can do with him.
  13. This is true. But I'd still rather sign a sure thing than take a gamble that we hope pays off.
  14. Ha! In all seriousness, I'm coming up on my 5 year TalkChelsea anniversary and feel like I know what it takes to be a mod. I just don't know if I'd be able to perform all the mod duties via iPad since its exclusively what I use the Internet on. Don't even own a traditional PC currently.
  15. Even if we want him and he wanted to leave I wonder what it would take to buy him. £50m? Unless we get Simeone and he tells the board that he really wants him.
  16. I'd do it but am too lazy to write an application.
  17. I wonder if top players would look at Allegri and want to come to Chelsea and play for him. If he has great pulling power or not. If, for instance, a player is wanted by all the top English sides would they choose a CL-less Chelsea over Pep/Mou/Wenger? This is what my first concern is with Allegri. With Simeone I don't think it's a problem at all. I think the recruitment would be top notch with him.
  18. He just doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who would jump ship after one poor season with a bit of adversity. I wouldn't say that he genuinely loves the club because that would be naive, but he does seem to like Chelsea and cares about the club. I believe he will 100% stay for next season and see how things shape up under the new manager. If we have another really poor season then he's off for sure. If we have a top manager and a nicely revamped side next season that's challenging for the title it may actually be beneficial to him to not have CL or EL matches. He'll have a season to focus completely on the PL and have plenty of rest to keep fresh the whole way. I hope the club realize that he's essentially irreplaceable at this point in time. If we sell him there isn't anyone in his class available that does what he does. You'll have to buy multiple top class players to make up for his loss. That would be made very hard without CL football and the way we're being so tight with cash these days.
  19. While he did revert to form towards the end of his time here, we can't forget how exciting and pleasant on the eyes our football was in the first half of last season. He may be able to get them playing like that. Unlike us, United actually have a bunch of players who can keep the ball for extended periods of time as well. I think players like Martial and Depay are perfect for Mourinho and both Rooney and José have never hid their admiration for one another so I can see him get a boost in form. The other (and biggest) reason they'll put up with him and why I think he's nailed on to be a success is who he'll be able to attract and sign. He'll make our board look like total mugs if he goes out first thing in the summer and signs the targets he wanted here that we failed to secure. Say he does what he did with Costa and Cesc and in the first weeks of the summer and signs Stones and Pogba. Agree that there's definitely risk, but for a club like them who's desperate for immediate success you can't go wrong with Mourinho.
  20. Wait, Loic Remy is still alive?
  21. That's €25m for his left hand, right? That's the type of shit reporting you'd expect from the English media. The media are already starting their stories where they gleefully say that such and such Chelsea players are getting poached. According to many of them it's a foregone conclusion that Hazard and Costa are gone. May as well not even be Chelsea players anymore... Don't see any of our best player s leaving.
  22. Can only hope Roman won't allow us to become Liverpool and fade into obscurity for years and will throw a shit load of money to get us back straight away. I mean, he has to have learned his lesson that signing those types of players are a big reason why were in this mess.
  23. He's just an uninspiring hire. Underwhelming I guess I could say.
