For the first time in quite a while you can say that the midfield and defense weren't the issues today. They were all up for it. The attacking play is a major concern. We hardly ever look like scoring from open play. Diego was invisible and no one bar Willian really got going. Hazard still doesn't look fully at it.

Final quality touch all that was really missing there. Very decent performance. Have to say as well, VERY impressed by Yarmalenko. One we should be seriously in for. Very aggressive and powerful. Perfect for the PL. Azpi my MoTM.

Just realized that this isn't on TV for me and I'll have to instead watch the Spanish broadcast via the ESPN app. Great.
-
What's the deal with Oscar? Seems like it's been an age since I last saw him play.
-
There isn't a like for like player we can just go out and replace him with. Unless they give us both Isco and Varane there isn't a fair deal I could think of. And we all know swap deals don't happen. It's not as though if RM give us £80m or more we'd just be able to sign Reus instantly. Any player on Hazard's level is already at a top club and nearly impossible to sign. We'd be mad to sell him (and we won't).
-
Can't help but imagine him seeing other top players like himself who play in attack minded teams or for managers that don't demand at all cost that their attacking players defend like it's their job and wish he did as well. He probably sees the likes of Sterling and KDB at City being able to express themselves and put up huge stats at the same time, he sees Neymar doing it at Barca. Alexis at Arsenal. When we were on top last season it was fine to criticize and nitpick. José is just asking for trouble once again here.
-
All of our players look like old, "should have retired a season ago" type of guys. Like Gerrard in his last season at Liverpool. They just look labored, tired, and two or three steps off the pace. As if it's the end of a long season rather than the start of one. Like they aren't motivated enough to put forth effort. Inexplicable, unless they just aren't buying in to José any longer.
-
Man, we look so fucking poor. Made worse when both Manc teams are winning easily at the same time.
-
Pretty stupid to bench Hazard against Villa at home unless he's got an injury I don't know about. Perfect opponent for him to regain confidence and form against.
-
Hopefully next time one of these muppet refs does something José calls him weak and naive post match. Apparently you're permitted to criticize the referees ability or performance. Call one incompetent and let's see if José gets fined. My guess is yes.
-
Pretty hilarious reading all of the journalists I follow on Twitter who would lick José's nuts and love every word he said before now pile on and criticize him at every opportunity when Chelsea are struggling.
-
Newcastle are unbelievably shit and we were extremely lucky to get a point from that game and we then got dicked by Southampton and Porto. We shouldn't be surspised if we make hard work of Villa.
-
It would be SUCH a José thing to do, though, wouldn't it? Playing a player he trusts out of position rather than playing someone he doesn't yet trust in their natural position.Wouldn't surprise me in the least if he plays Zouma or even Ramires at RB and says that Baba "isn't ready yet" for the PL.
-
I admit that I'll rage if that happens assuming Baba is fit. Playing Zouma (who already looks raw and pretty naive with his positioning at CB) at a position that requires MUCH more skill and discipline instead of the expensive, natural fullback we just bought would be utterly ridiculous. If he plays and gets shredded and we lose to Villa there will be uproar. Even if he plays well I'd still question the decision.
-
My God, I hope you (and the media reporting it) are wrong about Pep going to City.Would be a nightmare.
-
I personally wouldn't want him back but I don't think he'd turn down the opportunity if offered. Herein lies the problem for all the "José out" people. There aren't many adequate (available) replacements. Unless you want Brendan
-
Think we're the only potential landing spot for Carlo if he wants back in the PL. No other top club has a manager on the hot seat. Even the clubs on that level just below like Spuds and Everton have young managers that aren't in danger of getting the sack. If José gets the sack I think Carlo would jump at the chance.
-
Think Klopp will do well at Liverpool but I would've been way more concerned if he had went to Arsenal after Wenger or United after Van Gaal. Even with Klopp, Liverpool still have quite a way to go.
-
They've been desperate for Pep for ages so I can see them firing Pellegrino for sure even if he wins the league.Honestly, that would be terrible (in terms of other teams' prospects of winning the league) if City get Guardiola. Think they could dominate the PL for years with the funds, tactics, and draw that Pep is to players. Add to that their new youth setup, facilities, and expanded stadium, hiring Pep would put them over the top. He'd be THE man to make them into an elite European side. Goddamn, I hope Bayern can convince him to stay.
-
I just think that at PSG your season is basically over if you don't win the CL which is why I don't think he'd go there. So much luck and fortune is involved in the CL too. Winning Ligue 1 is already basically a given for them.
-
Where would he find a new job so quickly? Can't see any way he goes to PSG as he'd be bored out of his mind with that league. Likewise Serie A. Can't go back to Spain. It's either wait for Van Gaal's contract to run out and hope he can persuade them to hire him or take a much smaller job. There are only so many top clubs out there he can manage and he's gone through quite a few.
-
Mourinho has said more than once that if he ever did leave Chelsea he'd want to coach another English team. There's only one other English team he'd coach. Wonder how people here would feel seeing him as the United manager. Think everyone would dread it.
-
Nah. Think Iva will be done after this season and will end up at some shit, once great and now irrelevant team like Inter or AC Milan who always sign former star players.
-
Like I asked a couple of days ago, sacking him and needing to pay such a huge sum would surely impact his potential successor when it comes to signing players?
-
I think even if the Chelsea job were available he may still choose to go to Liverpool. He'll be treated like a messiah and savior there. He'll also surely be given far more control over all football matters after the sham that was every transfer window under Rodgers. He's clearly very attracted to the history and "name" of Liverpool.
