That would be a fair point if he was contributing something. He has zero goals and isn't even helping our other players score many to make up for his own lack of productivity. If he had scored even 10 league goals and was his unplayable self all season in terms of his dribbling we'd be in the top 4 places in this weak season. If he gets the majority of the credit for winning us the title I think it's only fair he gets huge blame for being totally useless and causing us to crash and burn.

It's depressing, Jas. Just thinking back to the end of last season when we were Champions and all thought it was only up from there. What has happened since is beyond the most outlandish Hollywood scripts. We could've taken that next step up and joined the big boys in Europe but are instead at our lowest point in years and years.
-
We all wish for and want him to stay but I feel his mind has been made up. There's just no way to explain how a player who was unplayable for much of last season can just fall off of a cliff the next unless his heart and mind simply aren't in it any longer. It'll be infuriating if next season we see him back and better than ever for a new club after being a disgrace this season and being arguably the primary reason Chelsea will be without CL football for at least a year.
-
Thing is, when he's able to do his thing he's one of the best players in the PL. Surely he's still valuable to us going forward. Players like Matić, Cahill, Oscar, and Ivanovic are what's wrong with our team. Players who are either ultra limited or just plain mediocre. Cesc has been borderline great since Mou left. Put him in the best circumstances to succeed and he thrives.
-
He's a problem next season only if we continue to play him in a two man midfield. He just can't play there against decent or better sides as he's so immobile. If we use him in a 4-3-3 with the proper players around him doing the leg work whilst allowing him to do what he does best then he's one of our best players. I hope to see him in our shirt next season.

This match further highlights how important Diego Costa is to Chelsea. To even entertain the idea of selling him would be madness. Unless he's just totally unsettled in London and is completely desperate to return to Spain he must be kept. He clearly cares and fights like a warrior for the cause. Basically the opposite of Hazard. A bit of surgery to the XI and a new manager that sets his team out like the big club they are and we'll be back in the CL the season after next. However, if we appoint Conte and cheap out with the rebuild then we'll be what Spuds have been for the past few years on the outside of the top 4 treading water. We must keep hold of the top players we have that actually give their al for the club and get as much as possible for the ones that don't. That money has to go directly back into new players.
-
This says it all. Two clubs going in opposite directions. PSG have built a team that has a top player in every position on the pitch and has players that show up on the biggest stage. They've invested masterfully. We on the other hand have failed to replace our legends and are now looking at one hell of a fight just to get back to the good European sides, much less the great ones.
-
He's gone. If it's to Real Madrid then hopefully by some miracle we can convince Isco to come the other way.
-
Like the first leg, we've shown there that their defense can be had if you're sharp and quick in transition. Pedro and Diego have been outstanding. Little more cutting edge in the final third and we can do this!
-
As predicted, Kenedy is out of position. He is NOT a defender.
-
Fabregas simply cannot keep up with the pace in midfield. It's like he's not there.
-
If we do lose this I hope we at least give a good account of ourselves and don't get blown away at home. Something to be confident about going into the Everton match and our last chance at a trophy.
-
Hmm. Not sure I like Kenedy starting here up against Lucas or Di Maria. He's not a natural defender and lacks defensive discipline and positional sense. I fear for him here.
-
I haven't wanted to win a game so badly in ages. I want to shut those smug bastards up and watch them cry since their entire season will be over and rendered pointless. I love Zlatan but he's so arrogant and dismissive of us that I want to end his CL dream. Wouldn't mind seeing David Luiz cry, either. I just hope we'll be able to maintain a consistently high level of play throughout the match and not just a good 20 minutes or something like we did in Paris and just get played off the park for the majority of the time. We can't be scared of them like we were for much of that game. We proved that their defense can be exposed and we should've scored multiple goals.
-
Truth is, no one has a clue when he'll be announced. Some are saying next week, some were saying next week last week, some are saying July. Hell, knowing how shit these journalists are Conte may not even be a target.
-
Think it matters immesely for United and their "brand" and image. Would be disastrous after spending such a ludicrous amount of money. Missing out on the CL once was embarrassing but missing out on it in 2 of the last 3 seasons is shocking. Suppose it doesn't really matter for them because they'll throw another £300m at it when Mou goes there.
-
Hopefully that's that for their top 4 chances. Unless City choke in epic fashion.
-
Arguably the biggest and most powerful striker in the league gets tapped on his foot and dives as if he's been shot. If that was Costa he would've been booked and he'd be vilified all week.
-
Was he wanted by Juventus when Conte was there or was it Allegri? I have a feeling we'll be seeing him waste space in our XI for yet another season. Poor passer, very limited creative vision, weak shooting, highly inconsistent technically. Has little to no impact on matches. We need an upgrade.
-
Not going to dig Courtois out. Unlucky with the punch but saved us numerous times to keep us in the game. Agree with criticism of Oscar once again. He's simply not good enough. Doesn't do any one thing exceptionally well. He's just decent at everything and nothing more. Shows a flash of class once every 10 matches. We got into so many fantastic positions around their box but failed over and over without having a focal point to score. If Diego played I think we'd have scored more. Surely, surely we have to be in for Imbula? That was a masterful performance from him. He utterly dominated us and is a tank! Forget Nainggolan, forget Vidal. Get this kid! Only just turned 23 as well.
-
It would probably take a crazy amount like that for them to sell after only 6 months.
-
Imbula is a beast. Not the first time he's bossed our midfield, either. Should've signed him.
-
Annoying as hell. Luckily the stream quality on the NBCSN app is outstanding.
-
Welp. Doubt we'll see very fluid football with many chances created with no Cesc.
-
What an extremely underwhelming summer that would be. Cuadrado can fuck off. And hasn't Pelle been shit for a while now this season? On some super long goal drought, isn't he? Plus he's getting old. You'd think if we were after any Italian striker it would be Icardi who we've been linked with recently before Conte was coming.
