I'm seeing a whooooole lot of chatter on Twitter saying he isn't very good. Guess people don't understand that he isn't a Suarez or an Agüero yet who will score 30 goals up top on his own. He isn't the finished product and has a huge ceiling. Playing with a strike partnership of Costa and Morata would be insane. They'd compliment each other perfectly, I think.
-
I think if we truly want Nainggolan he's ours, before or after the Euro's. I think Kante will be nearly impossible for us to sign after the tournament if he does really well for France and they win the whole thing like they're favorites to. He'll be even more coveted by other CL clubs. PSG are already rumored to be after him. How would a French international be able to turn down the biggest France and the chance to play with a bunch of his mates?
-
This is the dream. And neither of them are unrealistic signings like Pogba. Both can be had for relatively little money by modern standards. What a midfield 3 we'd have with those two plus Cesc pulling the strings and not having to worry about defending. We could compete with anyone in world football with that midfield. I'd actually be super confident going into each match unlike recently where I'd be worried about our central midfield getting dominated.
-
Who's going to cross it to him? Willian, maybe, I guess. Hazard with his opposite foot? That's not his game. Azpi either. I don't see how Benteke would suit us at all. Especially not together with Diego.
-
If he has a cheap £20m release clause what's the hold up? The Euro's, I guess? I'm impatient as hell!
-
Damn. When you write it all out like that it is pretty depressing. It's especially annoying with City because they're in the same league as us.
-
Oscar will be here. An anchor around our necks holding us back for another season.
-
Matuidi is a central part of that PSG side. No way they'll sell him.
-
The club are gonna dick around and lose him...
-
Sounds to me like he's open for and willing to come here if we reach an agreement with Roma. FFS, get it done, Chelsea!

At a time when so many clubs are buying, using, and having great success with younger players it's sort of weird/concerning that we're being linked with older (in football terms, obviously) players. Surely instead of going for Lichtsteiner who will turn 33 halfway through the season and Candreva who will turn 30 halfway through the season, we should be targeting much younger and better players who can give us years of quality service? Players who have room for improvement and aren't already declining or at their peak.
-
True, but most of the players we've been linked with are also wanted by other top teams. Teams that have CL football to offer. I expected us to be the most active club out there and have a couple of Conte's priority targets signed up. We need to be quick and decisive before richer, more attractive situations come along for the players we want.
-
We'll probably delude ourselves into thinking we have a chance of signing Pogba until late in the window and he'll end up signing with Pep or Mou. Then we'll sign Danny Drinkwater or Fabian Delph on deadline day.
-
I sadly have to agree. I think we've gone to arguably the most attractive club to join in the league to maybe the 4th or 5th. But to be honest, the players we've been linked with (Lukaku, Morata, Nainggolan, Koulibaly, Rüdiger, Kante etc) we should still be able to attract pretty easily. We don't need Galacticos like United and City will go for. The most annoying thing for me is that the clubs that are already better than us are signing world class players while Chelsea who you would think are the most desperate to get back to the top have been absolutely silent. City and Arsenal have made excellent moves already and now United will sign a one of the world's best players. Meanwhile, if you believe the media we're haggling over chump change and getting bids rejected from clubs we're way bigger than.
-
We won't sign anyone until after the Euro's. One of my all time favs going to United. Shame.
-
Zouma isn't a ball playing CB, though...
-
Seem so Ike's the opposite of an Arsenal player and Wenger signing. To be honest, though, I think he'd do well for them. I'd be terrified if I was a Leicester fan right now. Only a matter of time before Mahrez rumors start.
-
Would be a beast again in a specific system which uses traditional wingers who smack in loads of crosses. Like Liverpool, we don't play that way so he'd struggle just as much here as he did there. He'd be good for a side like West Ham or Southampton. Even United.
-
I'd be excited if it were just about anyone else reporting it.
-
Benteke would have the same issues and struggles here as he does at Liverpool. I would hope we aren't stupid enough to sign him. We don't play with traditional, classic wingers or fullbacks who cross the ball constantly for a big lamp post #9 to head in. Both Hazard and Willian like to cut inside and play the ball on the ground. Hes completely incompatible with our personnel.
-
Been hard at work on my YouTube scouting () and I must say that Koulibaly looks the much better player than Rüdiger to me. Koulibaly looks like an absolute beast, in fact. He reminds me of Vincent Kompany at his best from a few years ago. I hope we land him, but I'd be fairly satisfied with Rüdiger.
-
Why would either Arsenal or United be after an expensive LB? United have Luke Shaw and Monreal just came off of an excellent season for Arsenal. We really should be in for him and should've bought him a couple of years ago instead of Luis. Doubt were even interested, though. Baba will be given a chance I think.
-
To be honest, as long as we also address all of our other problem areas I couldn't care less what we do when it comes to strikers. If we spunk a huge amount on Lukaku as if he's priority #1 and cheap out on CM and CB signings I'll be pissed off. Plus, there's this whole issue of Lukaku and Costa being completely incompatible as a pairing.
-
£60m, though!? Man...idk
-
Looks like more of a fullback in that first video. Also looks a bit slight for a CB. That concerning at all? Definitely comfortable on the ball, though.
