PSG should have scored about 4 goals that half were it not for utterly woeful finishing. They missed or fucked up so many easy chances. Zlatan could have and really should have a first half hat trick. Of course City get a totally lucky goal completely against the run of play. Cunts. I want PSG to get through this tie and then get destroyed by Barca or Bayern. Just don't want City winning the CL.

Don't really think there's anything he could do that would get him sacked within his first 6 months to 1 year unless he has us in the bottom 3. There's no chance of that happening. Like I predicted yesterday, he'll get 2 summer transfer windows to shape his team.
-
Agreed. Unless we continue to deploy a 4-3-2-1 with Pjanic at #10 and a new DM signed to play in the "2" with Cesc it doesn't seem likely we'd be after him. A midfield with Cesc and Pjanic both playing deeper will require one hell of a shield. Like two DM's.
-
May well try. I think he'll be the Yaya replacement for a world record fee this summer. Don't think we have a chance without CL.
-
At least one powerhouse midfielder must be coming if we're thinking of using both Pjanic & Cesc.
-
Wish we can fast forward the rest of the season...

As angry as I was when we initially heard about JT potentially leaving, the more I've thought about it and how Conte needs his defenders to play I'm just not sure he fits. That is unless we play in a 4-3-3 or stick with the same tired 4-2-3-1 we've been playing. If we shield him from midfield with a couple of beats then it could work I guess. Keeping him would also mean there's no top class CB signing, right? Unless Conte has the balls to keep him or Ivanovic on the bench for the majority of the time.
-
Imagine the absolute meltdowns and slanderous "fraud" articles that will pop up if Italy crash out early. "Conte will never be able to compete in the PL! He'll be totally out coached." Lot of good that great World Cup placing has done LvG. Hopefully the majority of our supporters realize that what someone does with a national team doesn't necessarily correlate with club work. We've witnessed it with Guus and Ranieri who were shocking in one facet and great in the other.
-
Think he's 100% nailed on to have 2 summer transfer windows. Surely next season's sole goal from the higher-ups is CL qualification. They can't possibly have a title or bust mentality in Conte's first season. No chance he gets sacked during his first season.
-
Again, I think Man City telling them they don't want him will motivate him to stick it to them. What better way to do that than lighting it up at a direct rival? Yaya at 60% of his best is better than anything we've ever seen from Oscar at his best. I don't think he'd cause any problems. Same kind of issues as Zlatan. Yes, he's older and may say something silly in the media every now and then, but as a short term rental for a club desperate to get back into the CL places I'd have them both in a second. They're basically "can't fail" players in my eyes.
-
Yaya for a season and fuck Oscar off for a nice sum and I don't see how we'd be worse.
-
I'd still take him for a single season without question. You know he'd be motivated as hell if City think he's not good enough to keep. Still utterly unplayable when he's bothered.

This forum has been like this since everyone realized Chelsea were going to be shit this year. It's clear that TalkChelsea was filled with bandwagoners and plastics. This place used to have loads more posters and the site would crash due to server overload. Now it's seemingly only a group of about 20 people who post regularly. Pretty sad. Guess they've all gone and become City fans...

While it's definitely exciting to finally have it announced, it's hard for me to get super hyped yet until we start signing players that will make me confident about the future. I have to know that the club won't force him to "do it with the same squad."
-
Think Leicester will surely take a massive step back next season. They can potentially lose their 3 best player in a single window if any of the big boys come calling. Think Kanté and Mahrez are definitely gone. Can maybe see Vardy staying because strikers can often have flash in the pan seasons and then return to their normal (average) form after they get a move.
-
What you say is true in this case but even in our worst period we're still a much more attractive draw than Wet Spam. Also, showing ambition and talking big is one thing, but actually getting top players to a club like them is another. They're on that Everton/Newcastle/Stoke level of club where they'll get a nice player or two but will never attract an already established star. Wet Spam will remain a stepping stone type of side. No one will see them as a great permanent destination after one good season.

Imagine thinking Diego Costa (one of the best #9's in the world when on form) would go to China at the age of 26-27. The same guy who is reported to be struggling to acclimate to London is going to go to a country that couldn't possibly be more culturally different than what he knows. What a clown article.
-
Just think- we're having our worst season in ages, United have been bang average and may miss top 4, and City couldn't really be bothered this season and still Arsene Wenger's Arenal can't win the title. How unbelievably embarrassing is that!? To make things even worse, a tiny club like Leicester will win it who have a squad nowhere close to as expensive as theirs. Still worse, they'll probably finish behind Spuds as well! LOL! He really should resign.
-
We've played League One sides better than this. My word!
-
Mate, you wouldn't be relieved and excited after riding the pine for months?
-
I love when RLC actually runs with the ball and uses his physique to his advantage. Much better than when he just strolls around nonchalantly.
-
So we have a chance at signing two of the most coveted world class players in Europe but "absolutely no chance" at signing a player no one had heard of before this season who plays for a tiny club that most people outside of England had never heard of before this season? Come on, mate.
-
Maybe this summer will be more like the Costa/Cesc/Luis window than last summer. I hope. I pray...
-
If we can't manage to get any of the loftier targets then he's a great fallback option.
-
To be fair, he had plenty of excuses for that result yesterday. He's without his bets defender and his best midfielder in Cheilinni and Verratti. Their midfield couldn't live with Germany's movement and fluidity in midfield and Bonnucci had two super unlucky mistakes that led to two goals. He also had Giacharini on one flank who is shit (I lol'd when we were linked with him recently) and didn't start with Candreva who was their best player in the previous match. Zaza was totally isolated and received very poor service. Any Chelsea fans reading into a friendly result are overreacting. Saw plenty of it on Twitter.
