He's obviously a very good, direct, highly skilled player but man....I wish he was about 5 years younger. Is it truly wise to sign a 30 year old wide player whose game is heavily reliant on pace? I'm just not sure. I'll trust Conte.
-
So let me get this straight... Man United get a player who, on his day and at his best, is one of the best in his position in Europe. In return we get a fullback who United fans were happy to see dropped and not playing and who Conte just dropped last game? I swear there were times last season when LvG played Valencia (a winger) and Rojo (a CB) ahead of Darmian. Or am I mistaken?

Honestly, not sure why Wanyama would leave a good situation where he's starting and playing each week to sit on the Spuds bench. They already have a very good midfield partnership with Dier and Dembele. You can see situations where they could play with two DM's and partnering Dier and Wanyama, but he would surely be in the bench more often than not, right?

Even when he's scoring and playing well I can't help but notice how shocking his first touch is. Sticks out like a sore thumb. Just makes me wonder how well he'd do against top class opposition in Europe and in big time PL games when he's playing for a big team like Chelsea. Teams can render him totally ineffective if they close him down and press him. The ball often bounces off him like a brick wall. Against small clubs he'll run riot because they won't be able to deal with him physically.

Utterly shit player. Would be a joke of a signing.
-
I have one myself, man, but if you have a big ass cranium like Morata it looks terrible!
-
What's with these handsome looking Spanish players shaving their heads? Morata looks awful with this buzz cut. Same way Isco and Cesc did.
-
What does Ivanovic have to do with a Candreva?
-
It's not like his game relies on pace or running, either. Even at 29 a player with his skill set should be able to play at this level for several more years. As he gets older he could also just move deep in midfield and play the Pirlo or Xabi Alonso role. Don't think it's possible for any club to sign him. Well, I should say any Premier League club. Only ourselves and United need a player in his position and I can't see West Ham selling him to either of us. How bad would it look for them to sell their talisman and poster boy when they're trying to show their ambition with the new stadium and higher investment? No chance. If PSG or Real Madrid were to come in with a massive bid I highly doubt he'd say no. West Ham would reluctantly sell to them I'd think if Payet pushed for it.

Surely Mata is a goner if he's bought...
-
We'd still need a new DM if we were to sign him.
-
Yeah, this summer I think we're either going to be be paying significantly more then a players true worth or signing players who have a connection to Conte. Like United in their Di Maria/Falcao summer, we'll have to simply offer targets more than anyone else is willing to.
-
I'm having a hard time believing this one.
-
Maybe we'll get a Sturridge/Oscar moment between Conte and Radja today
-
I don't think it's a matter of us waiting and waiting but rather a negotiating problem. Instead of just going in and paying what the clubs are seeking we fiddle around with low offers the board know won't be accepted. I bet Nainggolan can still be prized away even though Pjanic has already been sold but only if we pay up. Kante has a release clause. The only possible reason for that not being triggered has to be because of the Euro's. He has to have told any suitors that he doesn't want to talk during the tournament, Its just annoying that we were so spoiled during the summer of 2 years ago when we went out and signed Cesc, Costa, and Luis with almost no hitch or hassle. We saw how successful the strategy of getting business done early was. Looks like we'll be waiting for quite a while longer.
-
Imagine if we don't get either Nainggolan or Kante after all the hype, rumors, and anticipation...
-
Indeed. Is his offensive game fantastic? No. But with creative players around him and a box to box, dynamic partner in the middle of the park he's the perfect #6. For France he's got Matuidi next to him as the box to box and Pogba as the playmaker. I'm salivating at the thought of Kante as our DM, Nainggolan as our box to box, and Cesc as the playmaker. Remember Cesc at his best in his first season here and towards the end of this season? When he had time on the ball and ran the show? That's what we'd get with Kante and Nainggolan doing the leg work. We surely must be in for him.
-
Even at age 28/29 he'd cost something like £50-60m now with the new TV money and him being the centerpiece of an up and coming West Ham who are moving to a new stadium. They'd refuse any and all bids.
-
Makes no sense for United if they're also signing Zlatan. Rashford would never see the pitch.
-
Signing of the season caliber player if someone gets him for that release clause. Performances like this are what will make it extremely difficult for us to sign him. PSG bound I would guess.
-
This is the exact role Pedro can play and he's an actual, natural wide player. He's also much more likely to score goals than Oscar is these days.
-
Where would Oscar even play? I think it's almost nailed on that Conte will play with either 3 in the middle of the pitch using a 4-3-3 or play with 2 strikers. That means no room for a player like Oscar who isn't effective out wide and is inferior to what we have already (nevermind who we'll sign) further back. We could most definitely cash in on him for a nice return rather than keeping him as a squad player.

Azpi is the exact opposite type of fullback that Barca like. Total nonstarter.
