Pass it and pass it side to side, dominate the ball for 10 minutes at a time, fail to create shit. Then Newcastle get the ball for mere seconds at a time and create more danger than we do.
-
Just everyone across the defense except for Cucu is a clown. Fofana failing to do the absolute basics time and again.
-
They’re missing their 3 best midfielders here and we still let them waltz through our midfield with zero resistance.
-
Yet a fucking nother goal out of absolutely nothing when we’re dominating the game completely. Another ball straight through the middle of the park. Embarrassing as fuck.
-
ANOTHER scuffed point blank chance for Palmer!!! WTF has happened to him?!
-
Between injuries and suspensions there is a shocking lack of serious attacking options on the bench today. So we better hope the starters can do the job. I’m actually pretty surprised we’ve gone with Reece in midfield again for this one and hoped we’d instead opt for Andrey Santos for a bit more possession dominance and positional discipline. We’ve been given a massive boost here since they’re without BOTH Tonali & Bruno G. Combine that with Newcastle being pretty shit away from home this season and there are zero excuses not to win this.

Matisse himself confirmed it was Finkelstein. Who if I remember correctly previously was either involved with or was a Spuds supporter. Really does just hammer home that we are going to continue to be run like clowns. This summer will be the same scattergun bullshit, I just know it. Whether Chelsea ascends back to the top is going to depend almost entirely on these idiots getting super lucky that some of these signings they make come good. Because it’s clear that ready made, top level players are not on the agenda.
-
The bind we’re going to be in in the summer is that if we bring back Penders and throw him straight in as our new #1, we’re trusting yet another young kid in a super pressurized role who has never played at this level. He’s bound to make naive errors and mistakes too just out of inexperience. But then on the other hand, what club out there is going to sell us some ready made, world class keeper? They don’t grow on trees and if we identified one we wanted they’d probably cost mega money. You also then block Penders.
-
Not just his play but also his body language and attitude look terrible as well. Pouting constantly after getting subbed despite him doing nothing all game multiple times this season. Uncharacteristically giving the ball away nonstop. Totally unable to get past players. The only explanations are he’s still carrying an injury and refuses to get it dealt with due to fear of missing the World Cup or his head has indeed been turned and he wants to go back to Manchester.

Only solace I take is that we would e stood no chance with this defense and keeper situation against Real Madrid or Bayern if we had advanced past PSG. Soon as we got on this half of the draw it was basically over. Full focus on getting 5th in the PL now.
-
We literally kill ourselves with every one of these goals. Schoolboy errors or lapses in concentration. All that immense hard work undone. PSG are nothing special as a team and were there for the taking.
-
And that’s us out. Played so well for so long and then collapse.
-
What an absolute fucking idiot. Started feeling himself WAY too much, taking FAR too many chances. Was bound to get stung on one of them. We had them right where we wanted them and then just flush it away.
-
Said it maybe 10 times this season that if Palmer was in his “real” form campaign we would be competing for everything. He gets so, SO many chances created for him or gets the ball INSIDE the box to get a shot away and he just can’t finish. He scores almost all of these in years past. I said a couple of weeks ago that he’d have 20 goals this season if this was the Palmer of 2024.
-
Should NEVER be that easy for someone to score 2v1 like that. Shocking from both CB’s.
-
For fucks sake. Cole should score and then they score from probably OUR best chance…
-
Definitely not expecting a clean sheet, that’s for sure. But PSG’s defense isn’t exactly water tight this season. I’d consider it a big win if we can keep them from scoring more than 1.
-
Man, I don’t know if I trust Jorgensen at all yet. Sanchez is prone to howlers for sure but in a game of this magnitude I think it would be wiser to go with the guy who has at least been playing a lot and not a keeper who plays once in a blue moon.
-
Don’t really know what to expect. I think our lads will be super up for it and PSG aren’t this juggernaut that everyone expected them to turn into towards the end of last season. They’ve had a pretty poor season thus far by their usual standards from what I’ve heard. Of course they’re capable of destroying anyone if they play their best so we have to be super on our game, but we shouldn’t be showing up intimidated or anything. Much like Barca, PSG aren’t used to playing teams of our level domestically. If we’re at our top level I fancy us over the 2 legs.
-
Of the two Brazilian “wonderkid” strikers who moved to the Spanish giants and flopped, I think I like the look of Endrick a bit more than Roque. Both are definitely interesting potential targets though if they can be had for reasonable prices.
-
Andrey Santos ain’t going anywhere. Not to a side that were directly competing with and certainly not for any piss take like €40m.
-
Yeah, fair. Hato is getting better and better as the season goes on. Lot of people started to write him off after his early struggles but forget he just turned 20 and the step up from Ajax to Chelsea is massive. He’s one of a number of our players who look much more comfortable and confident playing under Rosenior than they did Maresca.
-
That was a wretched 3 hours I’m never getting back. The mentality of this whole team is just awful. We once again continued the pattern all season of taking a lead and then completely coasting as if we’re done and dusted. And by mere centimeters we lucked out with that coast mentality nearly costing us. Literally the only positives that match were the win, João Pedro continuing to look class, and a few guys who have been injured getting some minutes in their legs. Garnacho was at least trying, too. Everything and everyone else was extremely difficult to watch.
-
Not a single one of these squad players have done a thing to make the manager consider using them in the PL. Abysmal from just about every one of them. This performance has looked like preseason match #1 against some MLS side who are in the middle of their real season. Horrendous.
-
May just be the more disgustingly poor performance I’ve ever seen from a Chelsea team.
