  1. So what's the fucking point, then!? The cynic in me says that the club knows there will be outrage if we sell Hazard and then quickly afterwards announce that we are accepting the ban and not signing anyone this summer. They can now say "hey, we tried" and that its out of their hands.
  2. I doubt the club would even attempt to replace Hazard like for like if we could bring in players. I think the plan all along has been for the combo of Pulisic and CHO to be those very young talents who will succeed him long term. But now that CHO is out for months of the season we'll be relying on average ass Willian and Pedro again. Our attack ain't scaring anyone in the top half of the table or in the CL without Hazard. We were already lowest scorers in the big 6 this past season with the best player in the league. Turning up at Anfield/Etihad/Spuds etc and the top CL clubs' stadiums with Giroud/Willlian/Pedro leading the line will surely be intimidating. 😒
  3. I'd probably be pretty excited and content with getting over £100m for him if it were a normal summer where I knew the club would reinvest the cash. Knowing that we can't makes this feel pretty hollow.
  4. Just hurry up and get it over with, FFS. Gonna feel super weird hitting the unfollow button on Twitter for Eden after all these years. Followed him the day he made that famous tweet and it'll be strange not seeing him as a Chelsea player.
  5. That sounds like bullshit. Why were other clubs able to get a stay but not us? It's so maddening that the club haven't updated us on this situation. Are they just going to spring it on us at the last minute?
  6. Be happy to see him go were it not for the ban. We can't really afford to get rid of him with it in place though can we?
  7. Think they'll win the CL again next season with Hazard and Jovic. Curious who they're selling, though.
  8. I just fear they don't yet have the tactical nous to out coach or even match the world class managers he'd be facing. Frank will have 100% support and backing from the fans and club, but is he the right man to manage Chelsea now? The top of the PL is tougher and more competitive than ever before. Is appointing a rookie PL coach with mere months on his resume wise when probably the top 3 best coaches in world football are managing our rivals? Much more experienced and proven managers have tried and failed. It's just a colossal gamble that I don't think we should take.
  9. Wonder how/if his role and position change under a different manager. He really started to improve towards the end of the season. Needs to be key to what we do under the next manager.
  10. Agreed. Lamps and Morris will manage if the ban is upheld. Plus Big Pete returning upstairs. Think a few other managers will make it known to the club if that they're interested should we be granted the stay. Then the club will have several options to choose from. Feel like it's basically 90% Lamps at this point.
  11. Didn't say I wanted him here, just that if we're looking within the league I'd rather him than Gracia. Honestly, none of the available options are better than Sarri. Not Allegri, not Blanc, not Lamps, not Gracia. None of them. Anyone we get is going to struggle without the transfer window to freshen things up. That's why keeping Sarri is the best course of action. At least he knows the squad well.
  12. Talk about a potential appointment that will excite no one. What a huge step down he would be. Sounds like bullshit to me.
  13. If any current PL manager is under consideration by the club it should be Eddie Howe. Great man manager who coaches nice, mat tacking football. His teams are super inconsistent defensively but so is just about everyone else. I'd be interested to see how he'd get on with better players. Not sure we'd look at him, though, because he's not exotic enough.
  14. Seeing Javi Gracia's name being mentioned on Twitter now... 😔
  15. Don't think he'll have any shortage of good options. He can go to any low to mid table PL side and improve most of them.
  16. It's really incredible that we haven't heard so much as a peep bout the is for from the club in ages. The millions of supporters are just left completely in the dark about everything. The Hazard situation, the manager situation, this ban. We finished the season on such high notes in both the league and in Europe and yet it seems we're on the brink of disaster. All with zero clarity or reassurance from the club. Like hey, maybe have the courtesy to have a blog post or something giving us an update on the appeal you said you'd file? Or come out and confirm/deny that our bloody manager is in talks to leave? Its pretty disrespectful. Will be a huge hit to the morale of fans if all of these terrible things are sprung on us at once next week or something. "Hey everyone, we've sold our best and most important player, our manager is off, and oh, btw, we're going to fall on the sword and take the ban so we won't compete for anything next season."
  17. Kinda wish Zidane hadn't gone back to Madrid. Would've been amazing to compound Spuds' misery right about now by taking Poch from them.
  18. Who in European football other than Spuds or Arse could give away a pen within 30 seconds of a final? 😂😂😂😂😂
  19. Difference between us and say United is that they can throw hundreds of millions of £££ to fix their issues. Arse still have strikers that can fire them through a season whilst we'll be losing a player that accounted for half of our goals this season. Giving a rookie PL manager medicore tools like Higuain, Giroud, Kovacic, etc and expecting to finish anywhere near the CL places is absurd. He is set up to fail.
  20. We'll be competing with Wolves, Leicester, and Everton next season if the ban is in place. May sound hyperbolic but it's reality. Only scenario I could see Lamps keeping us competitive near the top of the league in his first season is if he's backed considerably. If that doesn't happen he'll have us midtable.
  21. I'm semi-serious. Mourinho will have to be humbled by his recent situation. Sacked from his "dream" job, no other massive club wants him. PSG just extended Tuchel, Juve don't want him apparently, Inter just appointed Conte, Bayern wouldn't go near him, and Real Madrid have Zidane back. He's got literally no viable options and is too young to retire. I think he'd have a different mentality now. He surely has to realize that he can't be such an abrasive asshole in the modern age. I'd rather someone here who can go toe to toe with the other top managers than appoint a greenhorn like Lamps.
  22. There's still "you know who" out there. 🙃 I'd rather him than any of the other candidates.
  23. Ridiculous if the club are the ones pushing him out and making way for Lampard long before he's ready. Fair enough if Sarri wants to go himself and it's he who is pushing, but that would contradict what he said just yesterday.
  24. It's like our players took some steroids at halftime and came out angry. Kovacic was shite in the first half and unplayable in the second. Kante is a bloody machine. Played 90 minutes and effortlessly bossed Arse the whole time.
