But injuries to a couple key positions and we totally collapse. If we don’t get these players back and get a LWB in January or we will struggle to finish 4th, forget about the title.

If there’s one thing that can give a struggling team near the bottom confidence is us playing a massively changed side with players who don’t play regularly. City and Liverpool are looking to be kicking into gear so we 100% need all 3 points here.

I’m still at a complete loss of words at how poor he has been since moving here. Of all the striker duds we’ve signed in the last decade, Werner’s failure is the most difficult to explain. Torres and Falcao were already damaged goods. Morata was never good enough to be the main striker for a top club. Diego Costa was a total nutcase. Werner was coming off of two great seasons in Germany (and a world class final season there) and has the perfect skill set that should have translated well into the PL. Awesome pace, loves running the channels, was one of the best in Europe against high defensive lines, and most important of all he was a lethal finisher who scored from everywhere. How does a player go from all that to what we’ve seen? I sadly do think it isn’t looking likely that he’ll be here much longer. What sucks is that I think wherever he moves he’ll regain form and look good again.

So his agent has obviously thrown a spinner on the works here and fucked everything up. Likely the same thing that’s happened with Rüdiger. AC in particular was seen as basically a formality a couple months ago. Honestly, I think this is one of those rare instances where winning the CL is working against us. These agents have smartly been in their clients’ ears telling them “you’re a CL winning CB who is instrumental to the team, you need to demand more.” Kind of unfortunate for us to have two starting level CB’s in their primes and at the height of their powers both being out of contract at the same time. Combined with Azpi also being out of contract AND Thiago Silva being 37. Astonishingly, the most likely CB to still be with us next season is the oldest one!😂 Would be pretty insane if we lose these 3 for free and have to spend £100m or more to replace them in the summer. That’s some Arsenal level incompetence.

Be lovely seeing Newcastle get flushed down the toilet again. Wonder if they’ll be able to keep Alan St. Max when in the Championship. I’m sure they’ll bounce straight back up with the money they’ll spend, but I don’t know if he’ll want to waste a year.

Apparently Watford have a huge injury list heading into this game and are missing several of their best players including Ismailia Sarr. So this should be a straightforward, comfortable bounce back game for us. But when have we said that before…

One of the most frustrating occurrences was how a player like CHO can be so good for so many games in a row and then we come up against a United team who have a makeshift defense and he ghosts. Werner didn’t threaten at all. Ziyech was probably our best attacking player and most of us were calling for him to be subbed which says it all. Overall, we just don’t yet have that elite, “we will not be denied no matter what” attacking mentality that Liverpool and City when each are in form. It’s relentless from those two. When things aren’t going well from us attacking wise we just sort of wing it and hope for the best. Also, we start every match for the foreseeable future now with a handicap basically. Every opponent big or small knows and will have trained all week leading up to playing us that if they press Alonso high they will cause us huge issues. The Chilwell injury is devastating.

We just have a weak mentality against Man United and it’s inexplicable. Just can’t fucking beat them anymore. What a terrible weekend for us. Both title rivals humiliated United and we choke terribly and scrape a point.

CHO and Ziyech are both DEAD out here. Subs should’ve been made much earlier than this.
