Bruno tossing himself to the ground with a feather touch of contact has been United’s only way to relieve pressure thus far.

Too early to make any declarative statements when it comes to a gap between us and Liverpool & City. But if we were to put 10 points between ourselves and United I think we can safely rule them out as a threat to us. At the start of the season it would’ve sounded insane that we could stop worrying about them so early. I just can’t picture us going on an extended dreadful run with the squad we have. Even with a handful of important players out injured now we still get on just fine.

And they’re the early kickoff tomorrow as well. So if City lose or drop points we will have extra motivation to win I hope. Then loads of pressure on Liverpool on Sunday if we win.

In the context of this weekends other fixtures and with the international break coming up this is a colossal game for us. And I’m very, very glad it’s at the Bridge and not at Burnley where they could spring a surprise on a big club or two every season. I can 100% see United being abysmal for 80+ minutes, keeping the match 0-0, and then have Bruno or CR7 bail them out with a late winner out of nowhere. I can also see West Ham giving Liverpool a horrible time and one or both of them both dropping points is lovely for us. Hope we start the game aggressively rather than the slow, tedious way we have recently. Could be a huge 3 points.

Still think Rom hits 20 PL goals by seasons end. The question has to be whether we can win the PL with him as our primary striker and I think the answer is yes as long as the team around him maintains the level we see now. Would I prefer a different sort of striker? Probably so. But it’s not like we had many options.

People really need to cool it with writing Lukaku off as a mistake already. You wouldn’t write off Kane who’s having a miserable season or Messi who hasn’t done a thing at PSG yet just because they’re in a rough patch. I’d give him a whole season before truly judging him. Plus, we can be 100% sure he isn’t a player like Morata or Torres who will mentally collapse if things are going poorly. He’s got that killer mentality from Inter and will be determined to fight through poor form.

I think TAA gets more media love and hype because his passing is much more flashy and spectacular on the eye. He is definitely the more talented passer than Reece. But RJ is the much better all around fullback. Trent is like a 10/10 player going forward and a 4/10 player defensively. Reece is like an 8/10 at both. He can improve the consistency in his delivery going forward and he switches off every once in a while defensively. But in a big game against a top team I’d take Reece for sure because he’s not a defensive liability who will be targeted by the opposition.

Newcastle fans will have fun dominating the Championship next season at least. 😂

Yep. He and Barkley both had the same negative trait when they were playing for us previously. They are slow and indecisive players with the ball at their feet. They would get it, stand on it too long, or make a lazy pass. They have each done the opposite so far under TT. Ruben will now get the ball and either Cary it forward immediately or quickly cycle it to someone else. Tuchel has repeatedly said that nobody doubts his talent and is clearly impressed with how he’s finally applying it.

I certainly have to put my hand up and say I was wrong. I completely wrote him off (justifiably because he did nothing out on loan) but my goodness, he has looked incredible. Not just showing a flash here and there either. He is consistently and effortlessly gliding and bursting past players, sometimes 2 or 3 at once. He’s also physically dominant as well. He could be sort of a “secret weapon” for us this season since most opponents don’t really expect him. Also allows us to rest Kante much more regularly.

Ronaldo bailing them out time and again and saving Ole’s job this season. Bruno bailing them out time and again saving Ole’s job last season. He’s the luckiest man in football. He’ll probably fluke a 1-0 against City this weekend as well. Which is fine with me because we could go 8 points clear of City and Ole keeps his job.

Imagine where they’d be without him this season.

As comfortable of a game as we could ask for but watching us pass it around between our CB’s and Azpi 800 times and being unable to finish the 50 chances we had to score made it incredibly dull.

This is one of the most one sided 1-0’s I’ve watched. If we had some killers up front like Liverpool for example this would probably be about 7-0.

We need someone to start shooting from the edge of the box. Just repeatedly have a go. This keeper is dodgy as hell and is dropping everything. Stop trying to walk the ball in the net or pumping in crosses to Havertz. This would’ve been the perfect game for Mount or Lukaku. The former who would be getting off lots of long shots and the latter who would be getting on the end of all these crosses against weak CB’s. Also, you really get an appreciation for how good Chilly and Reece are when you watch Alonso and Azpi play. The drop in quality is stark.

Ziyech, man. Wtf happened to the player from Ajax who was world class with the ball at his feet? A magician. Now he fucks up just basic stuff constantly.
