I love Kai, but he is terrible at playing up top against deep defenses with huge CB’s like this. He needs space to run into and to be running at defenders. He’s almost useless with his back to goal and gets pushed around too easily. Also doesn’t help that Kante and Jorginho have basically zero eye for a creative through ball. Trouble is we have no other fit player to switch things up.

This feels like a performance straight out of the Sarri era. All of the ball with zero penetration. And wow, it seems like every one of our players has forgotten how to cross a football overnight. Wtf is going on? Or stay onside for that matter. We still look clueless way too often in attacking areas. Like a group of strangers on the pitch together for the first time.

We’re keeping the ball well but aren’t causing their keeper to do any work. So annoying.

Slow, sideways passing between our CB’s and fullbacks isn’t going to hurt them. We’re giving them exactly what they will have wanted. They can just sit deep and negate us.

I like the XI. But without Mase let’s hope our pressing and work rate don’t suffer. As bad a Newcastle are as a whole they still have a couple of scary players in Saint-Maximin & Callum Wilson who can kill you on any given day. We need to dominate early here so we don’t give them hope that they can get a result.

No European football should help them stay fresh as well. Playing like they have been recently I’d be worried if I were Man United.

They’ll probably batter that Spuds side who are one of the few teams that are as poorly coached as they are. That’ll probably (hopefully) buy Ole some more time. If he beats both Spuds this weekend and Atalanta it’ll probably save him for awhile. That is unless City do to them what Liverpool did in a couple of weeks. 😂

Yeah, why not? He’d be the perfect attacking wingback under Conte.

Conte coming in mid season would stabilize them and should certainly secure them top 4. But I don’t think he’d be able to pull off a miracle like TT did for us. He just doesn’t have the midfield or wingback personnel to implement his style. But Conte with a summer transfer window to bring in a couple is a scary prospect. Like if they were to sign Rice and Lamptey they’d have one hell of a team with a serial winner coaching them.

Hope they leave him in place for just a few more weeks so they’re absolutely zero threat to us in the league. If Conte comes in and does a Tuchel it isn’t inconceivable that they could claw back into title contention.

Think the best case for us opposition fans if Ole goes is that they stupidly appoint Zidane. Don’t think he would get this team to play much better than Ole has. Let’s hope they do that. Conte would whip their asses into shape and make a monster of them after a window or two to sort their midfield out.

United have some very tough fixtures ahead of this as well. If they don’t sack him tonight this could get even worse. Their issue is that they have apparently not even considered sacking him or begun planning for his successor. So they’d be either appointing someone on ultra short notice or it’ll be weeks before something is sorted.
