Think AC has long since had his mind made up. Will almost certainly have already agreed to join Bayern. He would’ve signed by now if he was staying. It’s Rüdiger we need to worry about. Losing both on free transfers would be HUGELY embarrassing.

Yeah. Clubs in the PL are absolutely swimming in money now. Even clubs like West Ham, Villa, and now Newcastle will be spending sums that were previously reserved only for the elite sides. City have now set the precedent for English players moving to other English clubs. Now if a young superstar Englishman emerges in the PL the asking price will be £100m if they still have years left on their contracts. Which Declan Rice does. Don’t think he goes for a pound less than that. And WH will be shopping for a much higher caliber of midfielder than RLC or Barkley to replace him.

Wet Spam are an ambitious club now who probably see themselves as an established top 6 club who want to push for a CL place. I highly doubt they’d be interested in Barkley or RLC. They can probably buy players for £30, 40, or £50m these days. They know that if they sell their best player by far their fans would revolt if they didn’t replace him with someone class. I just really hope our board are ready to pounce ASAP if he can be pried away. He has been doing a little “wink wink” flirting with Man United lately (saying nice things about Old Trafford, Ronaldo, chatting with Gary Neville). I would be annoyed as fuck if we watch him go there because he’s exactly what they need.

Süle would be a terrific signing if it’s us he has chosen. And upgrade in literally every facet to AC. And wouldn’t cost us anything. Think he’d be a beast at any of the big PL sides so I hope he doesn’t choose anyone else. First choice back 3 of Süle, Thiago Silva, and Rüdiger has everything. If Azpi goes as well then we’ll probably go for Koundé, too.

The most frustrating thing watching him currently is his total lack of anticipation. Ziyech will curl in a beautiful cross or someone will play in a nice through ball and he’s always a second late to react. The one thing he has been doing consistently well even in this shit run of form is hold the ball up and lay it off to a teammate. But after he does that he just kind of casually jogs around. If by some miracle we can offload him this summer we need to find a proper footballer of a striker. Someone who is highly involved in the play and who can create for themself. A Luis Suarez or Harry Kane type. Coincidentally, a Lukaku for Kane swap would suit both clubs well but Levy would never allow it.

If we could at least see some idea of what Tuchel wants from our attack I’d be more positive about our future outlook. Some patterns of play, some attacking moves that we try repeatedly, some chemistry between certain players. But there’s none of that. All season (and last) we look like an assemblage of random strangers who have never played together before. Even when we were at our flying best up to that Juve match it was our two wingbacks looking like our most dangerous attackers rather than the actual forwards. I ask myself what a attacking genius like Pep would do with our current personnel. He’d likely go with Pulisic left, Ziyech right, Havertz up top, and Mount in behind. Lukaku wouldn’t get a sniff because she’s not good enough technically and CHO wouldn’t either because he’s dumb as a rock around the box. We need to work on quick, short passing, triangles, one touch football. Not what we’re seeing now which is dominate 70% of the ball but grind to a halt over the half way line.

In the cases of Timo and Kai, these are the sorts of players you would’ve thought could fit into any team or system. Looking back now it’s easy to say Lukaku was a poor fit. But players like those two should flourish the way we set up. Perhaps they will once we have 2 proper wingbacks again. But that won’t happen this season… I would just go with no traditional striker the rest of the way and try to play a fluid front 4 over and over in hopes they can hit form.

It’s like we’re seriously cursed with every attacker player we buy. Lukaku - coming off of 2 excellent seasons at Inter where he was scoring for fun. Comes back to Chelsea and looks like a donkey. Werner - coming off of 2 excellent seasons at Leipzig where he was scoring for fun and looking unbelievably dangerous every time he got the ball in space. Scored worldies, tap ins, goals on the break, goals inside the box, goals outside of the box. Comes to Chelsea and looks like a terrified kid STILL after 2 years in the PL. Havertz - one of the brightest young talents in world football who was well known for scoring loads of goals from midfield and as a false 9. Comes to Chelsea and has bursts where he looks class and then goes missing for long stretches. Ziyech - dominated both domestically and in the CL against the very best opponents. Comes to Chelsea and is just now starting to look a proper player. And that’s just in the past couple of years. Time and time and time again hugely expensive, supposedly top class attackers come to Chelsea and bomb. It’s depressing.

Nah, not having that at all. Plays simple passes out of play constantly, gives away silly free kicks due to being caught out of position, overruns the ball all the time due to poor touches. And unlike Zouma, who even though he was poor on the ball, Sarr doesn’t have the dominant aerial and physical tools to make up for it. He offers nothing imo. Makes a few decent sliding tackles and that’s really it.

Worrying thing about our attack is idk what we can even do to make things better. Yes, we can drop Lukaku, but just like last season Havertz, Werner, and pretty much everyone else is woefully out of form. Ziyech has been our only dangerous attacker for a while now. We need another significant overhaul this summer. We are never winning the league with attackers who have 1 good game in 8.

Been saying it for weeks even though he has been bizarrely praised by journalists, but Malang Sarr is a horrendous footballer. We used to complain that Zouma was a great defender but had a lack of composure on the ball and that’s why he wasn’t good enough. Sarr is way, WAY worse in the ball even with simple, schoolboy passes. He is never Chelsea quality. He panics under the slightest pressure from the opposition.

It’s as though there’s a black hole in the final third. CHO has been absolutely embarrassing that half and Lukaku has looked like a clumsy donkey. CHO is repeatedly getting the ball in acres of space and even against defenders who are LEAGUES below us he can’t even get a cross in or beat his man 1v1. He’s just not good enough to be starting games for us. I’d rather see Werner there on the left 10 times out of 10. For the love of god, just stop with this CHO and Lukaku experiment and play Havertz and Werner. PLEASE!

What in the actual fuck is going in with Havertz? Our most talented player and can’t get a look in now. Really hope we don’t sour the relationship and make him push to leave this summer.

So Tuchel is COVID positive now. And if he is, he has obviously been around the whole squad in close contact so we should probably expect more. Just yesterday someone on Twitter posted a pic of Tuchel sitting in a crowded restaurant with Marina Granny. 😬

Hope Kai and Timo both start. This one and the CWC games, actually. Be good for them to score and get their confidence up having not played much lately.

One thing is for sure, this summer is going to be INSANE. Arsenal shedding a huge chunk of their wage bill so they will be spending big surely. United didn’t bring anyone in and will be appointing a new manager so they’ll be going big. Cavani, Greenwood, and possibly even CR7 will be gone so they’ll be targeting at least 2 forwards. City will be City and will likely spend £100m on some fullbacks again. And then there’s us. At least one of AC and Rüdiger will be gone most likely. So we’ll need a CB or two. We’ll need fullback depth. And then we have a bunch of attacking players who may fancy a new club. I expect a summer much like 2020 from us in terms of numbers in and out. The big moves were impossible this month.

Dembele will sign for PSG on a free this summer and probably rarely ever heard from again. Probably be in 400k a week and happily playing a few games here and there between injuries. Don’t know why we’re even discussing this anymore. Zero signings for us despite Tuchel stating in just about every January press conference that we needed at least 1. Oh, well. Could be worse. We could be Arse bringing in fuck all when they’re desperate for like 4 signings.

Part of me was really hoping Frank went back down to a Championship club and worked his way back up eventually to another PL job. Everton is in such a rotten state and needs such a big rebuild that I can see him struggling to make it work there. And if he fails at another big club it could forever taint his career prospects. He may never get a shot at a top club again. Not to mention I fucking hate Everton who have raised their game against us to a seemingly impossible degree when they’ve been in a moment of crisis the last 2 times. 😒 Scouse bastards.

Greenwood should be gone forever, Cavani is going, and who knows what happens with CR7 if they don’t have CL football next year. That clears a whole lot of room for a mega Haaland bid… 😒
