And now it’s coming out that they want Guehi. Meanwhile, look at us. This is how insanely far we’ve fallen. Fucking Arsenal may soon have FIVE CB’s that are better than every single one of ours on their way to pissing the league and as the favorites to win the UCL. A club for the last 20 years we’ve laughed at and taken the piss out of as we have owned London. Absolutely depressing.

The fact that we’re behind Brentford and that absolutely diabolically shit Man United side should see a load of people employed at this club sacked. What an unforgivable state we’re in. As abysmal as these players have looked this last month+ the level of talent we have in this squad is still MILES better than all the teams currently around us. Year 4 of BlueCo and we look even further off the pace than we did when they arrived. They’ve done something that should literally be impossible with this level of investment.

We may legitimately finish midtable. In a season which, before it started, we had title aspirations and at the start of December we were within just a few points of the league leaders. It’s an absolute disgrace.

This guy looks more like he’s getting ready to give an Apple keynote for the new iPhone than he does a PL manager. 😂 Seems like a genuinely nice, pleasant guy, though. But also someone who doesn’t quite know yet the scale of the job at hand.

The whole “at least we should see our players playing in their correct positions now” sentiment that I’m seeing from a lot of people I’m skeptical about. What exactly does that mean with our current squad? Fofana & Trev is our best CB pairing and that automatically means Trev plays outside of his natural position on the left instead of the right. Lots of people moan about our fullbacks pushing up into midfield or even bombing all the way forward in Cucu’s case but that’s what’s made him such a valuable player these last 2 years. Tbh, the positions the players were deployed in wasn’t so much the issue with Maresca. It was the constant chopping and changing and never building genuine chemistry.

I think the only way he gets people on board and believing in him is if we miraculously turn things around completely the rest of this season and finishes with UCL football. We could at least then convince ourselves that we’d have something to build on. But even if he does that these guys above him will go wild doing silly bullshit in the transfer window.

Insane contract. Whilst I can’t imagine his salary being close to the other top managers who are on millions upon millions, that’ll surely be yet another hefty payoff when he’s sacked inevitably sacked shortly into his tenure.

As of this moment you’re probably right. But if United go out and make a couple of good signings this month I think eventually them playing 1 game a week becomes a real advantage for them. Especially with a new manager who will need time to adapt.

A club that has employed some of the biggest and best managers in the world and won the biggest trophies is appointing a guy who wouldn’t even be under consideration by clubs near the bottom of the league. It’s like someone is playing a sick joke on us.

Rosenoir definitely comes across well in interviews and press conferences. Seems like a likable, intelligent guy. But that doesn’t mean he’s anywhere close to ready for the step up to Chelsea.

Curious what sort of length of contract they’re going to hand him. If they give him a long contract it’ll be pretty laughable and horrendous from a business POV because you know there’s a 99% chance he’ll be out quickly. So if you give him a 4-5 year contract you’re just setting yourself up for yet another big payoff. But if they hand him something like an 18 month, 1+1, or 2 year contract you instantly undermine a manager who will already have a huge uphill battle to command respect from these players.

Spot on. He’s a guy with so little cache and so little accomplishment that he literally couldn’t possibly go against these owners/directors. For whatever it’s worth, Maresca had at least been a winner before joining us and then built up his reputation after winning a couple of trophies and finishing 4th. That built up credit in the bank allowed him to voice his displeasure in how the clowns were running things. Rosenoir will be so insanely fortunate and lucky to be handed this job that he doesn’t belong in that he will toe the line like a good little puppet and work with whatever he is given. Get ready for our summer window to consist of merely bringing over the Strasbourg guys he has worked with (Emegha, Sarr, and Penders) and with Colwill returning + Quenda that’ll be it. No top class players are going to sign for Liam Rosenoir.

If current Wolves who are possibly one of the worst sides in PL history suddenly appointed Rosenoir I think even their fans would probably be angry and saying he’s not good enough for them. And yet Chelsea Football Club is going to hand him the keys. A guy with the type of CV that would attract clubs from the Championship or dregs of the PL as a long shot punt in hopes that he could be good. One of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world is going to install someone woefully unqualified after just sacking a guy who himself was unqualified and didn’t work in the end. Madness.

We genuinely feel completely cooked as a club. When Rosenoir inevitably looks in way over his head and we finish midtable we’ll be right back to looking for a new manager in 6 months. If he even lasts that long. We’ll then look even more like a shit show for sacking the guy who we sacked the previous guy for within the span of a few months. Why not just fucking appoint a true interim now and then wait to see who is available and willing to come here once the season is over? Why jump to appoint a guy who nobody from the players to the supporters will respect? Feels like intentional sabotage of a great club.

Imagine what happens in the summer window when we’ll presumably be competing with loads of other big PL clubs for the same players. What player worth a damn is going to be swayed speaking to Liam fucking Rosenoir? Or for a club that could sack said manager in 6 months time? Or for a club that will pay you half of what you’d get at the other big boys?

May as well just stop with all the names. It’s Rosenoir. It probably has been their one and only candidate for a month once the Maresca noise started. Hell, it may have been their choice before they even appointed Maresca that Rosenoir would eventually become Chelsea manager. We could offer Klopp a £20m per season salary and he wouldn’t even pick up the phone. Someone like him (or any world class manager) wouldn’t touch this ownership/director model with a 50ft pole.
