Feels a bit strange that all these journalists were briefed a while ago now that a “top” or starting level CB was now a priority in January and things have just gone totally quiet. Another body in CM makes sense I suppose or else we’ll run Caicedo into the ground. And there’s no chance guys like Wharton or Elliot Anderson can be bought this month.

I legitimately laughed out loud when I just checked Twitter and saw the tweet. Tbf, if we would’ve signed Douglas Luiz on loan before this season started I’d have said it’s a decent stopgap option. He was solid at Villa. But hasn’t he been completely irrelevant for Forest since joining? In a team that’s not exactly flying this season? What an odd move this would be now.

For me, Garnacho is 100% pointless in a game like this. He simply should only be used against bigger teams who try to play and have the ball so he can exploit space on the counter. He doesn’t have the skill or dribbling to consistently beat players. This is the kind of match we bought Gittens for but he’s so wildly inconsistent.

Genuinely feels like he hasn’t tweaked the team at all from what Maresca was doing. We are playing in an identical manor against a super deep, compact team. Ultra slow, sideways, no cutting edge whatsoever.

If the club “don’t want to block the pathway for our young CB’s” then why tf are they chasing another young CB who ansolutely blocks the pathway for for the current ones? Why not buy 28 year old Senesi for a third of the price and get a good 3 season’s out of him, after which time the young guys will be ready?

CB stuff has gone pretty silent these past 2 days. Wonder if that means the club has come to their senses a bit and put their foot down in response to asking price.

Forget Jacquet, get Senesi for a fraction of the price, and then wait for Sarr or Anselmino to return in the summer to bolster our numbers if necessary. What we badly need is a LCB anyways which Senesi is. Then we’d have 2 high quality, natural left sided options in that position with him and Colwill.

If Vini ever leaves Madrid it could really only be for one of three clubs. PSG or one of the Manchester clubs. Those are the only 3 that would pay his monstrous wage demands. Think he’s too young to go to Saudi yet.
