  1. So it seems that we can expect the deal to be fully tied up by the end of the day. Certainly looks like we want to get any summer transfer dealing done as quickly as possible..... obviously doesn't always work out. Right back is one position we desperately needed to fill. Ramos, Alves and Bosingwa were the outstanding candidates and it looks like we have gone for Bosingwa
  2. Lol, that award is cursed!!! We will now lose both the League and the CL.....
  3. Lol It is becomming a very weird situation. There are a group of people who are willing to give Grant another season now. There are then the people who want him out, a lot of those people have no idea who they want to replace him with and reject names like Rijkaard, Eriksson and Laudrup ect... most of the time the names that come up are a bit silly to say the least, with people like Wise, Zola or Steve Clarke to take the job. For me the bottom line is that i don't think Grant is good enough to take us to the level we want to go, however considering where have ended up this season i could see the logic of giving it another season. I would prefer though given the current situation to see us sieze the oppertunity to bring in a decent attacking minded manger to take us forward, Rijkaard is available and i think we should go for it with him. For me i can't think of many better qualified people to do what we are looking to do.
  4. I am suprised at the ammount of people who would not be happy to see Rijkaard here! I think he is pretty much the perfect candidate for us, has won big cups, his teams play the attacking football that a lot of people crave, proven that he is willing to bring youngsters through to the first team......for whatever reason it has fallen apart at Barca, you could tell this season his heart wasn't in it!! I for one would be happy to him appointed in the summer.
  5. IF someone new does come in, at the moment it is looking like a toss up between Rijkaard and Eriksson, with Rijkaard being the clear favourtie now for the job that it is confirmed he is leaving Barca.
  6. Yup Drogba always seems to do well and score in the finals!!! I am sure he will be in the mood to score in this one. Carvalho has been fantastic again this season and i am sure he will pick up the player of the year award tonight.....
  7. I am suprisingly confident of this game!! We are in some great form and Manure are not so much. We can contain their threat while offering our own. I think it will be a 2 - 1 win for us.... Can't wait
  8. If City is their prefered option then i would doubt we are seriously looking at making an offer. No European football for City but he would prefer to go there?
  9. The figures have come down somewhat today to a more realistic £20m..... would be a good purchase and aparently he is not happy there so could be willing to force a move from Madrid.
  10. Lol, why would there be any pressure on them? Why would they care who wins the league? As footballers all they will want to do is go out there and do their best to win the game..... All we can do is sit there and hope that while we are sticking the goals past Bolton, Wigan are doing the business against United..
  11. There is no pressure on them at all. Which could make it easier for them to go out and produce a good performance!
  12. It is certainly not beyond the realms of reality to believe that Wigan can get a draw out of United. Their pitch is a cabbage patch which will make it harder for their most imfluential player Ronaldo to do his thing, and they don't have the players suited to play the long ball.
  13. Looking back it probably would have been better for Jose to leave in the summer. We may have got another manager other than Grant had that happened. It is easy though to look back and see what should have happened, the descisions were made and this is where we all are! Jose will get another top job in the summer and we have ended the season with a shot at the PL and CL double......
  14. If a player is that good and if their club is willing to let him go for that money and we have that money and want the player that badly then we would pay it......
  15. You could say that us dropping points cost us, but looking at it realistically Manure also dropped silly points - if they hadn't have dropped them then we wouldn't even be close!!!! We have done fantastic to even probably ending up on the same points as Man you and losing on goal difference!
  16. Messi is absolutely outstanding and i would not be up in arms if we did pay £80m for him!! At his age and with his ability it would be worth it. Although i can't see them selling, they will cash in on some players this summer i feel, Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Deco ect..... but Messi is the one player that they will hold onto no matter what!! To join in with the Kakuta debate, both are correct really. Kakuta does look like being world class. He certainly has more natural ability that both Forsell and Carlton Cole. But we don't know how the next few years of development will go. Will he suffer what i call second season syndrome? Which both Sinclair, Stoch, Sahar and Woods suffered from, outstanding first seasons but found it much harder in the second...... we really don't know for sure yet.
  17. It doesn't matter if Bruce is ex-Man you, you try telling the Wigan players to not go out there to try and beat Man you. It is most certainly possible and lets hope that Wigan can hold out for a draw!!
  18. Newcastle have started to put a good run together now, although i do feel they are very still defensively and we can expose that and we should be able to cope and win this game fairly comfortably. With 3 games to go and nice rests inbetween games i would say put our best team out in every game now! No-one has played too many games this season. I would say maybe rest Joe because he is looking a little jaded and he is the only player to make over 40 appearances this season...... Time to carry on this momentum we have and give the double a f**king good go...
  19. Forget the Jose comparisons, they are pointless. Grant will NEVER compare to Jose and i doubt there are many that will..............
  20. Not even that, just needed stronger hands IMO...... Still, take nothing away from what was overall a top top class performance. 2 games in a few days against the Mancs and the Scouse vermin have given us a massive lift, and hopefully a platform to build on for next season to do something really special.
  21. Cech should have done better with that shot in truth but thankfully it didn't matter. It was a proper game though thats for sure.........................
  22. I find it hard to see a way where he won't be here next season. And it is hard to argue against it in reality. We have our reasons for not wanting him here in the first place and wanting him replaced. But after massive turmoil near the start of the season to be in the CC Final, FA Cup Quarters, CL Final and down to the last day of the season with a very real possibility of doing the league and cup double. My personal feeling is that he is not good enough tactically! But after the way we are finishing this season you have to say that it is going to take another season if that is to prove right or wrong. Some people say it is only because it is Jose's squad! Again it will take the summer, Pre Season and next season to prove if that is right is wronng...... I think the bottom line is that we are going to have to accept that it looks extremely likely that he will still be here for next season......
  23. The one thing i have critisised Jose for is the way he has approached the Liverpool CL games, i always felt that he was too negative and played into the hands of the scousers!!! Last night we didn't, we had a real go at them! Even when we tried to protect the 1 - 0 lead and let it slip we came right back again and went at them again. Earlier on in the season everyone stuck the boot in on Grant because he couldn't win the "big games" or against the "big teams". Now we have seen a team under his "management" beat Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool..... maybe he is growing into the role. Maybe it is because we have our squad fully fit again! Who knows.... I certainly don't think that he is good enough to manage us and i don't want him in charge next season. Although now i feel he will be..... like i have said unless it was always planned for him to leave at the end of the season. But now i just have the feeling he will be here next season................
  24. Lol, well that was a bloody tense game!!!! But it was absolutely incredible! We fully deserved our win and Drogba on the night was immense, was clearly fired up by the fat twats comments and just shows how good he can be when he really puts everything into it, like we saw from him all last season. Lampard was just top class, his overall performance was one of the best he has shown this season and the balls he had to take that penalty!!! When the final whislte went it only then hit me that we are going to be in the CL final. Because to me NOTHING was more important that not letting those scouse c**t's knock us out again!!!!
  25. The way i feel at the moment and think about this situation the only way that i can see Grant being replaced is because it was planned all along. He won't be replaced for not winning a trophy because lets all be honest when Jose left everyone thought we would do well to cement 4th spot. We have done exceptionally well this season given the circumstances, and even though that is not down to Grants management ability he won't be replaced on the basis of bad results. The bottom line is that i think the only way that Grant will be replaced is if it had been planned all along......
