I don't doubt at all that he can be a good player, a very good player. But the wing positions are THE positions we need to strengthen with the right type of player to make us fly again.
-
How much cover can you have? Boularouz certainly can be a good centre back, but for me he gets caught out far too often and i think that Ivanovic and Mancienne are better options for cover. I can't see any way that he will be part of our plans for next season.
-
I agree Malouda can get better! However i just don't think he has the qualities for what WE are looking for and need in a winger. Speed, skill and the desire to beat defenders. It would only hold us back if we were to keep him on in my opinion.
-
Various repots this morning that Pompey are going to make a £10m offer for him, but will face competition from Newcastle to sign him. Personally i think it is time for him to move on, we need to move up from him and he needs to move on to make a go at a club where he can play more often.

Who Do You Want To Be The Next Manager?

Conflicting reports on Ten Cate, some saying he is going to stay - others that he will leave. How this can be decided before a new man comes in is beyond me! A new manager brings his own team, the only way i can see Ten Cate staying is if it is Rijkaard that is brough in - or a very inexperienced manager. -
Technically - yes! But experience goes in favour of Boularouz. Mancienne has similar qualities to Carvalho in the reading of the game and such. If i had to choose 1 of them to be included next season i would personally choose Mancienne.

I love the visual image that comes out from all the stories at the moment that Roman is sitting there with all his advisors pushing their candidate. It makes me laugh that Roman is viewed as some sort of imbecile who is easily led into making descisions that are not always the best. If we are currently looking at various options then it will be done in the right way by looking at all the candidates and probably interviewing them as well and then deciding which one fits what the club are looking for or who puts forward the best case rather than which advisor is best able to convince Roman... -

To be honst i am very suprised that it has taken as long as it as! But making the right appointment is crucial for us. No matter what happens it seems you are not going to please everyone, us Chelsea fans are a hard bunch to please thats for sure! The favorites for the job keep changing by the hour! The original favorite Rijkaard isn't even in the picture anymore seemingly and all of a sudden Scolari and Ancelotti have come out of no-where. At least it seems like we are in detail exploring all options and interviewing all potential managers. Although i still find it extremely hard to believe that this hasn't been done for along time now! -

Another day and we are STILL no nearer knowing who is going to be the new boss. Today we have confirmation that we are looking into Scolari and also that we are taking a look at Carlo Ancelotti.....i really hope this doesn't drag out till after the Euros.. -
That was a roumer flying about just after, he has said since in an interview i saw on SKY Sports that he isn't suing anyone... and damn right too..
-
A little extra cover? At the moment we are going to have at centre back to start the season: Terry, Carvalho, Alex, Ben Haim, Ivanovic, Alcides, Mancienne and Boulahrouz...... quite a bit of cover i would say
-
Yeah, bring him back!!! We need a decent Centre Back for the reserves.........and that is as close as he will get i am afraid if he comes back.
-
Actually he has said that is not suing us because Roman is his friend. But it was stupid of him to say what he did about the start of the season......

Looks authentic enough, doesn't mean he is comming here though. The media and the Bookies truly have no idea who it is going to be, a new favorite every day at the moment. At least the club are doing this quietly enough..... although we are aparently interviewing and you would have thought they would have caught wind of a few interviews happening. -
Yeah but i don't want to believe Roman is stupid enough to have honestly thought about having Grant in charge for longer than a season! In my mind when Jose left the board had someone in mind for the job but couldn't get them until the end of the season. They discuss everything with that man and make an agreement. Put Grant in charge for a season and don't say he is caretaker to stop the press from writing all season about this manager or that manager comming. It also helps to take the pressure off of the new man for following in Jose's steps because after a season everyone will be desperate for a new manager - they discuss with the new man transfer targets to prepare early and are now just waiting for the right time to make the announcement. Thats my story and i am sticking with it

Completely agree, i don't think we have the players at the moment to produce the football that is aparently required. I am sure that will be changed this summer no matter who is in charge. -
I certainly don't want to think that is case, because as you said would be a very very dodgy situation to get in and would put off a lot of managers i would think. Either the club has always planned to have Grant in place for a season and the new man has long been decided so the signing of Bosingwa and other targets we are looking at has already been discussed and we are waiting for the right time to announce the man. Or Roman truly gave a chance to be the manager long term but was depandent on winning something this season, Bosingwa was Grants choice and then the club decided Grant was no longer the man for the job. Or the club are deciding on the right man at the moment but at the same time do not allow the manager much choice on signings and Bosingwa was signed by Roman no matter who was going to be in charge.

Has been linked with Barca for a while now, was talk about him being used in a swap for Dos Santos. I would let Malouda go and bring in a different type of winger, if Barca want him we should use it to get a decent amount or a player we are interested in like Dos Santos or Eto'o
-
Without doubt, but you can't decide that player for a new manager! The man may come in and decide they want a different type of right back and Bosingwa is not the right man and not needed. It's a risk.

I am sure either Neil Bath or Brendan Rodgers are quoted as saying Stoch WILL go on loan next season....

It is possible to be very strong defensively and still be entertaining, it s all about having the right players and playing in the right way. To be honest i would not know what type of football to expect should we appoint Mancini or Dechamps, and even Hughes to a certain extent. It is obvious that the club want the team to play with flair and attack minded, the new manager will be told this and will be expected to deliver, it doesn't mean that they have to have a history of producing this typoe of football, because not many teams get given the hype that the Arse, Manure and Barca get when it comes to their football. -
In a nutshell yes! When it comes to pure ability on the ball, Stoch is by far the better player, he will take players on and beat them with a combination of speed and skill. Sinclair is faster but when put in on goal Sinclair will be more lethal. I would like to see Sinclair played in a front 2 a sort of Henry type player, would score lots i think.
-
I am sure that it was said that Stoch will be going out on loan next season as he is now classed as a club trained player under the UEFA rules which is why he didn't go on loan this season. He needs the loan experience before he steps up. I am sure he will have a great loan season and make the step up to the first team after that. With his ability he will certainly make waves and headlines in the Championship.

I have to say i am very suprised that nearly 50% of people want Hughes over the other candidates, very suprising when you consider who those candidates are and what they have achieved. Hughes would do a good job i am sure but i would prefer some of the other manager ahead of him at the moment...
