i think i just explained why spending 20mil pounds on a 29 year old luis who can give a MAX of 3/4 years of WC performances it left back is a bit silly!!! while spending 25mil on rodriguez who is 21 is very viable from a monetary point of view. luke shaw was not worth 20mil let alone the rumored 34mil tag. rodriguez is a FAR better player. its barely 7 days into the window. if we cant get luis, i expect us to look at rodriguez, moreno or sandro as the next options.

even if rodriguez costs 25mil pounds, it is an investment for the next 8-10 years. luis costing 20mil pounds for the next 3/4 years MAX is not the ideal deal and the club is doing good in recognizing that.

would personally have loved to see ryan but that chance is gone. pva is not good enough defensively is what everone says but i dont see us buying 2 LBs this season. so maybe ake and christensen for those 2 spots!!!

coleman, iva, zabaleta, sagna, clyne. 5 right backs were EASILY better than debuchy last season, so how was he one of the best? the worst thing is that he is not even as good as the player he is replacing (sagna) in an already weak back line which just makes it an even poorer transfer. but well what can one expect from arsenal.

"one of the best deals" lets see how many players have gone for more than luiz has. ronaldo, bale, neymar, cavani, falcao, zlatan,zidane, kaka. these players are game turners. the best players in the world. falcao-cavani-ibra can give 30 goals a season. on the other hand, luiz was barely the 3rd CB for us. and we sold him in top 10 of the most expensive deals. well if this is not ONE of the best deals then what is? whats even more baffling is that we dont need to spash big money on a CB to cover for luiz's departure (like spurs did with bale). we can get zouma/omerou back from loan and that is good enough.
