  1. if u believe a few posters on here, the only defenders worth mentioning are the ones who are pro-active. i guess basics like concentration, maintaining discipline, bossing the box, man marking, being aware of attackers and dealing with the danger are things not worth talking about. solid but very poor (hahahahahhahaha)
  2. we have played 32 games in PL this season. 32*90 = 2880 minutes GC has played 2480 minutes of those. in these 32 games, we have conceded 26 games. sometimes, people need perspective. GC is not the best suited defender out there for the way we want to play, but the guy gives his all, is a beast in the box, has a good reading of the game, has a great partnership with terry. he has his shortcomings, but people make it seem that we have done a liverpool and conceded 50 goals this season in the league. compared to this, the player who would be apparently more suited for our system has conceded 31 goals playing for a team that is heads and shoulders above the rest in their league. like i said, perspective. GC had a very poor festive period but lets not make it sound like something obnoxious.
  3. i dont think thiago will want to move. bastian's 31 and would start declining. bayern sold kroos to get him. bayern are the best club in the world (or definitely in top3) and he can be a part of their core for coming years (thiago, gotze, muller, lewa, boateng, neuer, alaba). so just dont see why he would want to take this step.
  4. actually some people make it seem like there is just one way to play football. whats worse is that these are the same guys who crib the most if we lose while playing attacking football (spurs away).
  5. ???? irrespective of how we play. he HAS been brilliant. it does not matter if we are playing in a conservative way or not. in no way is it wrong to say that GC's performance has been brilliant. GC being good enough or not for a more pro-active role next season is a completely different issue. i dont think he should be our 1st choice CB-pairing player but at the same time i can call his performances for what they have been.
  6. cahill has been "BRILLIANT" for 3 games in a row. cahill has been very decent since the spurs final. lets be fair to him.
  7. just like they were against bayern (7-0)?
  8. so no costa, remy or DD. cesc as false 9? or ivanovic. i would like to see iva upfront.
  9. or draw to sunderland and lose to spurs and draw to soton.
  10. and then people try and bad mouth jose and his PRAGMATIC ways.
  11. fair enough, but i dont think if it would work with our board. for the last 4 windows (since jose has come in), it seems our transfer mantra is to spend what we earn (or near abouts). buying koke/pogba is atleast 50mil and that does not even begin to solve our main problem. as good as GC has been recently, we still might need a varane who would cost close to 30mil. all in all, need 80mil funds or near that region (it still does not include the 2nd GK fee or the mikel replacement fee, if mikel is sold).
  12. chelsea 3-1 united. you cant possibly say that we set up in the same way. which shows we at this moment is simply trying to wrap up the league. beautiful football is not the objective, winning is. hence we are using whatever stratergy which seems best to simply get the job done.
  13. come on barbara. u just cant say that the cesc drops in the second half of the season is a "myth". dont exactly know if he has physically fallen off or something else, but no one can deny that he has looked like a shade of the 2014 cesc a lot of times in these previous months.
  14. really? on that comment. then what do u have to say about this http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/14305-the-mourinho-thread/?p=1086175
  15. we could if we wanted to. people forget the pool match last season where we would probably have lined up for a similar way but since they got an early goal, we ripped them open for the rest of the half before shutting out the match in the second. yesterday, we did not need the win, united did. a draw would have suited us as good. then why the risk. why should we be doing anything that makes us circumspect at this juncture in the season. just not worth it. we had a gameplan, and it worked like a charm.
  16. yup. the crowd was really up for it. makes me feel good that the people moaning on here are a very very small minority (even if they do go to the bridge). the fans who do go to the bridge, go off their own accord. the club or roman or jose dont hold a gun on their heads and force them to support the club. right now, the club has some objectives. the first objective is to win the league. end of. how it is achieved is not the important thing right now. its only about getting the PL done and dusted. get the monkey off jose's back, the team's back and give them the confidence that they can win the league. from there, we start building towards style and flair of our early season football. start integrating youth and do what is necessary to acheive the maximum success. right now, its all about the results. last night we got the result and gave a very very good performance. we did what we had wanted to do. and without a shred of doubt, roman, the boss, and the fans all were pleased. if there are a couple of people who cant be happy or act unhappy just to get some kind of idiotic attention, good for them. let them soak in their own misery. who the hell cares. WE ARE 10 POINTS AHEAD OF ARSENAL. TOP OF THE TABLE SINCE DAY 1. AND ON THE WAY TO THE 5TH LEAGUE TITLE. COME ON CHELSEA.!!!
  17. wont matter. he is luiz. he will find a way to make the attacker score and nutmeg him somehow.
  18. Cahill made an amazing block on Falcao, John Terry was amazing, the keeper was there for us all the time, Azpilicueta was for me the best player on the pitch and Ivanovic was fantastic. Matic worked like an animal, Zouma put Fellaini out of the game, our number 11 [Drogba] was another animal, fighting against two kids young enough to be his sons. Hazard was what you know, Oscar worked fantastically well, Ramires came in and gave us what we needed, Mikel came in for two minutes and held the ball. Willian [has] been in bed for two days and today he came straight from his house, making himself available to give us some help, he was fantastic."
  19. what the hell is wrong with people here. how can anyone be fine with a loss against these cunts. its arsenal and arsene. the cunt who pushed jose. the ass who has never won against jose and i want it to stay that way. i have no doubt the players will be up for it, the manager might already be up for it. a must win game. courtois iva GC JT azpi zouma matic oscar cesc hazard remy
  20. players zouma has nullified over the course of the season - aguero, sterling, eriksen, fellaini. hmm.. thats one awesome collection.
  21. that was one awesome dive. even i had my heart in my mouth then. by the way, if u reverse the roles and have cesc/oscar/hazard dive for the pen in the last minute, u can be damn sure that we would get our asses handed to us. but nothing so far in the media.
