Luiz is turning out to be the next Alex - the brazilian cannon. One of his goals against LIverpool in that 4-4 draw still gives me shivers, fantastic.

You can twist his words, but his message was that as soon as things go sour we will have the SAME faces crying for change. Agree with @bushman on this, some people are so blinded and biased. Some of you even said that he could have won every game and still wouldn't have earned your respect. So goes to show how disgraceful, plastic some can be - put their own beliefs beyond the actual welfare of the club. I rest my case, let's enjoy this era.

It was a good article until you started to be too negative in the conclusion. Europa League isn't Champions League, but it is a very important trophy that gives us another crack at Super Cup and instills winner's mentality to our young squad. So you can downplay all this all day long but it wont distort the reality of this feat.

This can be a strong indication that Jose is also arriving soon enough, because why would any other manager want a player in a legend status possibly undermine his authority in the team? Would have been an easy way to minimize the risk of this happening and not being blamed for letting such a player go. Though, if Mourinho does come then I'm sure there will be same faces ready to point out the 'I told you' factor. Hopefully it won't be a short and sad fairytale, because everyone's hopes and expectations are very high.

Out of likes, but that is one of my favourite quotes.

Same can and will be said about RdM. He lost us UCL football, nearly CL spot if we hand't been riding our luck, Super cup and Community Shield. All in all it was a justified decision and all is planning out nicely as it is. Had we stuck with RdM, I don't know where we would have been, because we were in a decline and he was running out of tricks, our defense was leaking although we were for once playing a pleasing football to the eye. Besides, if we had RdM, do you think the club would be possibly after Mourinho or rather if RdM wouldn't have been sacrificed for him? Dejavu. I know that appetite grows while eating, but let's cherish the 'small' success while we are at it. It isn't every day we recover from such an abysmal season with holding both of the European trophies and securing Champions League football for next season (+3 league positions compared to last season) in a very sturdy competition.

I think Torres will be here also next season, I don't think it would be bad actually - we could use a more profilic striker nevertheless, but he isn't a bad option. He is behind Lewandowski and Ronaldo in European competition top scorers, that's something. Plus 22 goals is good in any way you look at it. He is also featured on the new Adidas kit pictures, whereas Lampard isn't - speaks for something.

I'm very happy with the Europa League trophy and possibly 3rd place. Well done. Though has to be said, Rafa had as much got to do us winning this final as did RdM winning last year's final - we rode our luck, but then again that's what champions so often do! Thanks and best of luck in your next job. KTBFFH

What is Benitez gambling on? We need subs, Ramires off - he will get a red if he doesn't cool down - there is no room for retaliation , especially in a final. -

Agree with you. In my mind he has been one of the best from Chelsea. He might be sloppy, but he has that x-factor that can win us games, or lose. Either way, he is not the cause of our problem, players aren't awake yet. Crossing my fingers that the wake up call won't be a goal, because they sure can combine. Btw, whats up with the pitch? Seems so slippery and you can clearly see the watering radius on the grass, especially in the goalkeeper's area. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZH8xyr0-_0 -

Benfica want it more, you can see that. Not going to point any fingers just yet, but we must start keeping the ball more and not let them walk straight to our penalty box. Hopefully Ramires can keep his cool and not get a red card. -
I have to agree with Sam here - why can't he have his opinion? I mean the people who have different opinions from the rest are automatically not Chelsea fans and deserve a ban for trolling - like many imply here. A right and correct answer isn't automatically what the majority thinks, so people lay off and broaden your horizon a bit.

Which team are Chelsea's biggest rivals in England
SinineUltra replied to newman 8151's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Tottenham and ManU.. LIverpool games were always a fun affair when they were actually playing good. -
Exactly. He was the one who had to put all the superstars -that were bought- to play in the first place.

What did he say so wrong? Another excuse to throw stones at him?

Mate, it is not the pain killer substance that does more damage, it is the excessive movements you do after you feel no pain - take only one second to aggravate it. I totally get your point and agree that if he is having slight pain only and feels that he is ready to play. he should get some painkillers to feel more at ease on the pitch. Dirk Nowitzki had a broken finger, only mattered how he handled the ball if anything, Hazard LIMPS - he cant walk, let alone control and shoot a football. It is nothing natural for a body to be pumped with medication so you can't tell the difference between nervous system and muscular system. I'd rather he has a very productive pre-season and comes back fighting in September rather than be possibly out for months because he played in a Europa League final, where he couldn't actually give his 100% anyway due to a niggling injury.
-
Feels wrong voting for the most controversial figure, because for those guys it's like a sport in itself and we are just feeding oxygen to the fire.
-
This is wrong in so many levels, sorry! There is a reason why people die on the pitch, they ignore their body and DISGUISE the symptoms but don't treat the real cause. Pulling a hamstring is of course a less severe matter, but popping painkillers for a pulled hamstring only blocks n.ischiadicus and n.cutaneus femoris posterior nervous pathways. There is a reason why body experiences pain - so you don't aggravate the tear. Unless he can walk and play with very minimum help by medication, we shouldn't risk him getting a more serious tear. There is no 'hamstring muscle' - it is a common name for the region that consists of m.semitendinosus, under that m.semimembranosus and m.biceps femoris, maybe even m.adductor magnus - so the severity of his injury can be as little as just a little tear in one of the tendons or his whole posterior part of the thigh muscles having minor injuries that basically immobilize his range of motion. Sorry if I'm being a bit too conservative, hopefully he will recover in time and we will have a great game at our hands.
-
I think you are both right. A common sense substitution can be a good tactical move. One shouldn't rule out another.
