  1. Last year it was the UCL win that got us the likes of Hazard, Oscar etc. This year if we do defy the odds and sign Cavani, it must come down to Mourinho's return. In that sense we have been lucky. Fingers crossed for Cavani.
  2. I agree with you completely. Though we have to remember that it is a poll and the most popular wins. That being said, there is a saying that the people are as adequate as is their chosen/voted government.
  3. Then again didn't see anyone crying when we did just that against Barcelona last season. Let's wait and see how Mourinho will play this team. None of the transfers are even confirmed and already some of you know exactly who we have bought, how we will play and how bad we will do UNLESS we break the budget FIFA style.
  4. I don't want to draw any comparisons, because they are different players afterall, but nevertheless isn't Garth Bale all about his pace and shot? Let him first prove himself, 20mil euros for a potential player isn't a bad decision.
  5. Careful, you're still running to be member of the month. I think you already know that supporting the board and not being ignorant isn't the best way to be popular.
  6. There is this saying: only a fool can't find an excuse. I'm with you on this one, mate. Give him a fair chance, he is 22 and under a great coach he could unlock his potential. Plus like said above - we all want starting XI packed with expensive superstars in a formation that might work well in a FIFA game, but if we want quality bench, we must spend.
  7. You're the only one bringing up that only thing he can do is work hard and give his all. Why can't you recognize his other abilities? There is noone in our youth system at the moment that would be even slightly ready for being a dependable squad player. Who exactly do you think you'd get with 20mil euros, someone who is young and better than Marin, Moses?
  8. Maybe you have watched, maybe you haven't. Truth is the strength part is just an excuse. Is it because of that you resort to being passive aggressive? There has been a sudden Belgian invasion here lately, go do your match-making on them, egalitarian. Btw, what term? Muscles? Are you skipping sleep again?
  9. I'm the last person you should explain this. Robert Lewandowski is the same body-type etc as Schürrle and is considered one of the strongest forwards in the world. What has given you the expression that Schürrle is weak? Btw, you can't gain 'muscles', every human being has exactly the same (amount of) muscles - difference is in the hypertrohpy.
  10. No he does not. He is a strong lad, 184-185cm tall and weighs around 80 kgs I presume. That's more than Suarez, Torres, Tevez, Agüero etc. If you are being negative and finding faults then search for them properly. He is 22 and with a proper manager, surroundings he can be a very good asset. I didn't see anyone crying when we bought Zhirkov for nearly the same money, he was older though less proven.
  11. I understand where you are coming from, but why do you think he can't be sincere about really liking Chelsea? This is a breath of fresh air for him after the venomous, hostile environment in Spain.
  12. Don't worry mate. I got the same treatment when I had the nerve to suggest Rafa wasn't our only problem. I'm still here, alive and getting along fine with them.
  13. I was a sceptic, but I'm taking my hat off. More impressive than YouNameIt CL win prediction, which was unamusing.
  14. I've been studying 12h/day for the past 4 days and after hearing this news officially I'm pumped with motivation. Thanks! At last the fans are reunited and backing the team. This is an explosive composition - can't wait for the season to start!
  15. Why is this forum still up? Two miracles in the same day? Welcome back, Jose!
  16. Sorry for ignorance but what's scheduled at 6 30 on CTV?
  17. You misunderstood me, I might have not expressed myself clearly enough. He started to compare Ramires with Schürrle, who are different players although they possess some of the same attributes. As does Ramires and long distance runners, but can really one replace the other just because of that? That's why the 'shooting blanks' remark infront of the comparison.
  18. We don't know if he will be used as winger for striker, both of those suit him. Jovetic type of player, who is best as second striker.
  19. We have no long shot threat since 2 years ago when Lampard actually scored those. Occasionally we do get a few but Schürrle would bring this dimension and a lot more. Ramires might be fast and have stamina, but as we are shooting blanks here we could also swap him with any Kenyan long distance runner then...
  20. But we will get over it, right? Thanks @ for the great news!
  21. He's just stating his opinion. If you don't like what you see - block him. I suggest you look up the 'Internet hate machine' thread Spike posted some time ago.
  22. I respect your opinions and agree that we shouldn't trust Mourinho blindly - afterall he is just a human like we all. It's just that -using cliches- you have come to the wrong neighbourhood. People are and will be biased about Jose Mourinho in Chelsea - a match made in heaven. He has achieved great things, great records and naturally we want that to continue here. So in a sense we have set the bar very high for him and -especially looking at the stats you've posted- I hope he will not deliver less than expected, because the fall will be very high. I don't believe into the posts that say Mourinho should be given years to build his legacy. Why? Because if in principle we do keep him for long term but for some reason the team doesn't deliver - the same fans that always call for manager's heads will also demand his sacking. After all, old habits die hard. Take care, madridista!
  23. in: Cavani - De Rossi - Hulk out: Torres - Marin - Essien (hurts me to admit this, because he is one of my favourite players)
  24. Valid points, Stingray - agree with them. Only speaks volume of Kevin's adaptation but does it mean Schürrle should deserve less credit? Both of them are good players. For the club Schürrle has 14 goals and 10 assists in 3435 minutes (43 games). KDB has 10 goals, 10 assists for the club in 3085 minutes (34 games).
