Kojo is going off topic...

If Oscar is fit (I was not sure if he would be up to starting after playing in the Olympics) then I would be all for playing him instead of Malouda

haha #sackfergie was trending look at some of this guys tweets- fucking comedy https://twitter.com/WaleLuvzGirl just a few from this comedy gold

Cech Ivan* Terry Cahill Bertrand* Mikel Meireles* Ramires Hazard Malouda* Torres * Ivanovic needs to prove that he is not worthy of becoming the new scapegoat after 2 'bad' performances. Bertrand needs game time and against one of the weaker sides in the league during a congested period this is a good chance to give him some game time. Meireles should cover for Lampard for this game, but Lampard should start on Saturday against Newcastle, just give him a rest. Malouda might play OK but more importantly Mata should get a rest before the newcastle game because he has been playing a lot of football.

We have a congested start to the season with the Super Cup so I would take any win regardless of how we play
-
What a stupid thing to say. I am not saying we should play him week in week out but he is still a good defender and still good enough to play in this team. Cahill and Luiz struggle to play together and it is likely that ivanovic will be playing right back more often with Bosingwa gone. Some people on this thread are like spoilt children saying how we need lots more signings. Yes we need one or two but you seem to think that as soon as Terry is in decline one of our best ever players should just be sold in an instant. He is still a good player but it looks like Terry is becoming a scapegoat figure because he is not as good as he once was
-
People can criticise Terry all they want and say he is in decline (which he is but he is still a very good defender) but we shouldn't forget that nobody, arguably in the history of the club, has put themself on the line week after week for the club like he has
-
Pleased with every player today (especially Hazard) except Torres. I would have defended him and always will defend a player if they are putting in maximum effort but it was clear that he was lazy today. He would not chase down or pressure defenders, make decent runs regularly enough, his passing was poor and he just gave up when he gave the ball away. Totally, completely not good enough. We can praise him all we want for his goal against Man City but if he is only going to do that sort of thing once a month then there is no point having him. Today it was not about confidence for him as a problem it was laziness which is not good enough. Play Sturridge until Torres starts to give a fuck and stop making lame excuses for him.

Saw this on Sky Sports News this morning and choked on my cornflakes while saying 'What a wanker'

Would have been one ugly fucker of a stadium if all the stands looked like the East stand as proposed 1987 proposals looked even worse:

Mata might be feeling fit now but I predict that by December he will be knackered because he will have been playing 1 1/2 years of football without a rest. He said he felt fine around April time after we had been playing him every game and relying on him heavily and he seriously underperformed. The best thing we can do is give him a 2 week holiday break after the internationals week. Spain play Georgia away on 11 September so if we let him have 2 weeks completely away from football he would miss QPR (A), Champions League group stage matchday 1, Stoke City (H), and maybe a round 3 match from the League Cup. He would be back in time for Arsenal away and we still have Hazard and Oscar to cover for him.

SAYS YOU! The last few months you were non-stop telling us how they will rule English football for the next 10 years or whatever. I wouldn't say that people are crazy about City either- most people on this forum have accepted that they played better than us, we were poor and they deserved to win. I wouldn't say giving praise to them on a one-off occasion like this is jizzing over them in the same way that you continuously told us on the English football thread that nobody will be able to stop them for the next 10 years. Oh and the comment on how you now hate Ivanovic was plain childish. Throwing your toys out the pram because we lost a friendly because of him yet he has scored vital goals and made vital tackles for us on several occasions. In fact the last few seasons he has been one of our most consistent and best players and how he has not won our player of the season award is beyond me. Essien has been consistently bad for over a year but one bad tackle from Ivanovic and you say that he is now 'a bigger pile of shit' or whatever you called him than Essien.

at least our support is better than their bollocks. They would never have got that many fans if they did not win the league. 3-1 and they still wouldn't sing.

Spurs win at Stamford Bridge

Community Shield: Not too bothered really Capital One Cup: Again, not bothered how well we do on the condition that are young players are given a chance UEFA Super Cup: Would be nice to win it, particularly as it is the last one in Monaco but it will not be the end of the world if we do not win it. Club World Cup: This is not too difficult a trophy to win yet it looks got if we can say that we are Champions of the World so I would like us to win this. We only have to play a few games, usually against teams from Asia or the Middle East who I have never heard of. I expect us to win this. FA Cup: It is a nice trophy to win and we are a club with a great recent history in this competition so we should go for it. If we go out in the earlier rounds I will not mind too much especially if we give younger players a chance in the earlier rounds. I expect us to get to the quarter finals. Premier League: This is probably beyond us for this year at least. Man U always come back stronger when they finish second best so they will be favourites in my opinion. City have not strengthened their squad at all yet but they still have enough quality to finish first or second. I hope we can get third to avoid having to qualify for the Champions League in 2013/14. I am not expecting us to win the league but at the same time 6th place will be nowhere near satisfactory. Champions League: Of course we should get to at least the quarter finals unless we draw one of the big teams in the last 16. After then it gets more difficult and there is something in my mind telling me that going out of the CL will not hurt the players as much so it will not be quite as important to them. Don't get me wrong, I expect that most of our players would love to win it again but perhaps not very desperate like we have been in the last few years. I would be happy with Quarter or semi finals.

Aim low to avoid disappointment

don't see how people can get so stressed about whether or not our kit will have a star the size of an ant above the badge

Comments that I have edited come out in italics and the stuff I wrote before I edited the comment is not there any more. Not sure if this is a problem with everyone or just me?

I am not normally worried by pre season games and was not bothered that we only won 1 of 3 games on the US tour but lets be honest we were comprehensively beaten by a team a division below us, with our strongest team out. We both start our seasons next weekend so fitness levels is not an excuse. We barely threatened their defence in the second half which is worrying with the players we have in our attack. Whether or not our players were complacent after a guard of honour and everything I don't know (Living off the glories of last season will not be acceptable, I expect 100% effort from all of them regardless of what we achieved last season) but that was an extremely poor performance. Something I was taught in junior football

I thought you said It would be easy

would be nice if we could have something permanent like that for the 2013/14 maybe screens showing trophy presentation photos or stuff like that in terms of Earls Court as an option, the company that wants to build on the Earls Court site, http://www.myearlscourt.com/ say that they do not yet have planning permission from LBHF or Kensington and Chelsea borough council. If we could get in there quickly and buy the land off them then we could try to see if we could get planning permission for a new stadium. Personally I think that the best way of building a stadium on this site would be to build it on top of and to the left of Earls Court 2. That way we would avoid the London Overground line. It would mean demolishing quite a few houses though. Alternatively it could be on top of Earls Court 1, the houses can be retained but the railway line would be underneath the stadium and probably have to be moved west although this would probably still be cheaper than the plan for Battersea of extending the northern line
