  1. I wasn't picking your opinion out or anything i just remember seeing it the other day and thinking now's a good time to mention it while were on the subject I was thinking the same about you with Albrighton i do rate him and actually wouldn't have minded us signing him, but those opinions from the Villa fans is quite alarming.
  2. I think either need to do one of 2 two thing's with this lad. Either sell him or try and 'do a Bale' and turn him into a winger, which could save us a few quid if we pull it off. Don't mean to sound harsh but the guy cannot defend for shit, Leicester fans could not stand him, he got dropped at Wigan near enough as soon as he started playing and he's been dropped at Vittese for poor display's and too say he is not a crowd favorite their is a understatement. So maybe we should try and convert him to a LW? Because unless we play teams with next to no attacking threat teams will cause no end of problems to us with him playing LB.
  3. The Roy bandwagon was more to do with getting Fulham out of relegation from a impossible position then getting them 7th the next season imo well that's what initially impressed me about him.
  4. Villa fans don't rate him atall. "many have struggled against arsenal .. but its true Hutton has done ok in the last batch of games. . others on the pictch have been so much worse.. ALLBRIGHTON, HESKY , to name 2, why does allbrighton get no stick from villa fans,. he is woefull ,, i cannot understand how on earth he ever became a professsional footballer " "Don't know why Albrighton gets let off the hook with some seriously shoddy play. Maybe 'cause everyone loves a trier? Not sure. Of late, he's been poor and couldn't cross a cheque. I don't think he's going to fulfil his early promise but have to wonder what they do with him in training; whatever it is, it isn't working." "Allbrighton ,, i just dont understand it at all,, he is nowhere near a prem player and within 2 years will be a tamworth player,, sorry if that sound harsh ,, but watch him closely. he is a headless chicken with no skill, tricks, composure ,no postional sense,no shot.no nothing really!!!!!,, he is a local lad so he gets away with it and thats not right in my book" "Nah, Rocky, you're right. If Albrighton's current form continues I agree he'll be sliding down the leagues faster than a snake down a ladder. I was just wondering why he's spared the slack 'cause he hasn't made any progress since becoming a first team regular." "he had two good games that i can remember! as i said local lad, no other reason ,, i tweeted him last week and he gave me dogs abuse back, which ended my support of marc" "Think was Marc was a breath of fresh air last season and the Holte was always behind him when he stepped on the pitch. Now he just hasnt lived up to what he started and hs gone backwards. If he keeps this up he will be gone sooner or later...." http://www.avillafan.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=8665&st=15
  5. If Benfica score first and go 1-0 up on the night it's back on. If they score again and make it 2-0, were screwed.
  6. Maybe i was a bit strong saying define, but with an ageing squad and FFP looming fast the summer transfer window will play a part of what happen's in the next few years. Like in 2004 when Jose got rid of every player older than Makelele and replaced them with young, hungry players which gave us the platform for the success of the 6 years after. If Malouda and co are still at this club on September 1st then we will know. I actually said 2-3, that's usually when a manager makes his stamp on the team unless you have a silly amount of funds (Jose) or already have a formidable squad to work with (Carlo), AVB didn't have either of those tools. Because it's clear Roman doesn't have any patience, RDM would get rid of the "superstars" because he has worked with them and Jose is ruthless and would aswell as he shown when he came here and got rid of Desailly, Petit, Hasselbaink etc almost immediately, Pep might aswell but quite a lot of managers will want to "access" the players therefore giving Malouda and co yet another chance they don't deserve. That's why i think that. As ive said before if Moyes does end up coming in and being a success i will happily eat all the humble pie you force throw at me but it's not a one off event managers who do great at midtable clubs (or shall i say teams because historically Everton are a massve club) flopping at big jobs, Sam, Roy, even Hughes. You could also use Rodgers at the championship example, doing great at Watford getting a big job (for championship standards) who have expectation's of getting promoted at Reading and ending up in the bottom 3 and getting the sack. Then at Swansea he recovers his reputation. Maybe Moyes would come here and be a roaring success who knows? but the fact that no manager in recent times has made the "midtable, no expectations" to "top team, huge expectations" makes me naturally wary. I may get thing's wrong sometimes who doesn't? but i get just as many thing's right aswell.
  7. Which one do you guys use? Im planning on learning some Italian and Spanish soon amoungst other languages so when i do ill come over
  8. This forum has grown leaps and bounds since i arrived and that was only January last year. It took me a year to get to 1,000 rep points and ive got half way to doubling that in 3 months, just goes to show how many new user's are coming and sticking around. Best forum on the net, one of the few thing's i have to thank google for is sending me here
  9. If we finish 6th (which on Newcastle's form is not impossible) and Everton do better than us in the FA Cup, we won't even qualify for Europa.
  10. The trick for Barca is in the home game at some point in the match they will be on the back foot. When they played Arsenal at The Emirates and Inter at the San Siro even us in 2009 are prime example's. IF (and that is a big if by the way) we get past Benfica and get Barca there will be a stage in the match at Stamford Bridge where we have Barca by the balls, we will have to take full advantage of those minute's get the crowd roaring, get Barca rattled and get a couple of goals like Arsenal did or maybe 3 like Inter did.
  11. He's been very good lately lets hope it can continue, all it takes is one 'bad moment' and he's back to square one. Im not too confident we will get the best out of him at-all due to those 2 goal droughts but if we do i will eat the best tasting humble pie on the planet.
  12. I remember we gave Avram a 4 year contract then lost to Arsenal the match after.
  13. Ok then tell me this, what has Moyes done differently at Everton to what Sam and Roy did at Bolton and Fulham respectively to suggest he won't go exactly the same way if he is given a top job. What the fuck are you on about? i (along with many other user's) said AVB would have been fantastic for us given time and patience, something i stand by, but i guess we will never know now will we? and even so can you please stop this tedious im right your wrong game, i said Liverpool would do shit this season when most of this forum were seriously worried about them, i also said last season we would finish 2nd even when we were 5th, do you see me lording it over member's in every thread?
  14. This race for 3rd reminds me off the race for the title in 2010. We had on paper the toughest run in, tricky away games but still came out on top even tho Arsenal had an "easy" run in. If Spurs don't beat Swansea today, they are in deep shit.
  15. Not always that easy on fifa either, for me Kakuta missed 2 open goals in one match
  16. He spotted Odemwingie for West Brom so he obviously has an eye for hidden gems.
  17. Yeah im gutted he was doing us a great service Happy for Steve Clarke tho, a shot at a manager's job for him is well overdue.
  18. Kenny Dalglish has been sacked as Liverpool manager. It is news which will send shockwaves through the fans of the Anfield club and every one in football. Despite Liverpool's poor form which see's them 8th in the league (would have been 9th if Sunderland held on at Eastland's yesterday) there has been little sign of him being under threat. It's a shock especially with the timing of it coming on the morning of their 6 pointer with Newcastle at St James Park. However John Henry and the Liverpool board felt they had no option but to make the change immediately before Liverpool fall further down the league table. A Liverpool spokesperson said "we are very grateful for the work Kenny has done since returning last year, but the results lately and for the most of the season have just not been good enough and we feel now is a time to act and make that change. Kenny is still a legend at the club and will be welcome back at any time". Steve Clarke will take over Liverpool on a interim basis until the end of the season starting today at Newcastle. http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/17497323 well i never expected that, im pretty gutted tbh Kenny was doing a fine job
  19. For years ive been shitting myself every time we play Stoke that we will concede from a long throw and when we do concede from one it aint even them
  20. RDM has always been vastly under-rated tactically, you don't mastermind 4 points out of 6 at The Emirates and Old Trafford with West Brom if your weak or even average tactically.
  21. Jose Mourinho or Roberto Di Matteo now it has to be one of them, no one else should even be considered. Jose still loves the club and the fact that he quickly came out and rebuffed the City links but not our one's could be telling? and he is the only man that can guarantee to be a success, its the only non risk, lets look at the other candidate's. Guardiola - If he comes here he will need to use the transfer market, his record in that department is very so-so, he's a great manager but could you imagine him trying to teach our bunch tika taka? Moyes - Too risky could easily backfire like Roy did with Liverpool and Big Sam with Newcastle. Working wonder's at a mid table team with a limited budget doesn't automatically mean you will win the league when you do get a kitty to dig into. Bielsa - Would be a mix of AVB and Juande Ramos in the PL, long term might be good but short term would be a tragedy and our board are not patient enough. Low - Been in International football for far too long, would be just like Scolari. So either we should get Jose back or give RDM a one year deal at the end of this season and see what happens. Atleast RDM will know which players need to go, Jose would get rid of surplus players regardless i just don't think i can hack another 'squad assesment' this summer.
  22. If it means getting shot of Bosingwa i'm more than happy for Paulo to be in the squad next season. Lots of experience should be leaving us this summer i see no harm in keeping the best 3rd choice Right Back in the league on our books. If it aint broke .... We have a lot of games in the run in and i think he should be the man playing when Ivan is injured/needs a rest.
  23. Win our home games, get what we can away and hope for the best!!!
  24. What i find the most funny thing is getting called a glory supporter by say a Torquay fan is one thing, but when Liverpool and United fans call our support plastic well the hypocrisy beggar's belief considering they both have more of what you would call 'plastic' fans than any other team's on this earth. Im not just saying this because im a Chelsea fan but i haven't meet one Chelsea fan i would deem a 'plastic', all fellow Chelsea fans ive meet know their stuff and the club and are passionate as anything.
