  1. Wrong He played in the Champions League in 2009/2010 Him in action against Arsenal, a match he went on to score the winner in.
  2. Liverpool are welcome to take him on loan. But then again they would be effectively admitting their reduced status of today by doing that. It was probably the reason they didn't take Danny on loan when we signed Torres and signed Carroll instead, Liverpool loaning a player (especially a young one) from Chelsea is the equivalent off admitting their not the force they were, something the deluded fuckers can't bring themself's to do
  3. Im sorry but how on this earth has Torres performed better than Ba in the league? he took 4 months after Ba's arrival to even score in the PL (which backs up my theory that Fernando winces at the face of the slightest bit of competition). Domestically since Ba's arrival, Demba has scored 6 (two of them against the Manc clubs) while Torres has scored 3 (two of which against lower league opposition in the FA Cup). Atleast like with Choulo said with Ba we have a target man that occupies defenders and makes space, defenders can't ignore him and focus on the amigo's like they do with Torres. Ba has not had the desired effect no question about that, but he is by some considerable distance better than Torres. His 'performance' at Anfield is still giving me nightmares. But the clear fact is neither should be number one forward next season, so who would be more suitable for the role as a squad player? for many reason's that would be Ba. He won't sulk when a superior forward is on the field, he is on less wages and quite frankly is a better player.
  4. Torres is hit a semi decent run of form in a competition Ba can't even play in, domestically Ba has been head and shoulders better than Torres. That's not saying how good Ba is just how crap Torres is. The guy is finished he use to be one of the best, now he is just an Akinfenwa without stength (and no that isn't even tongue in cheek). Ba would be a decent 2nd/3rd option, Torres should be playing in League Two.
  5. Furthermore, Ricardo Carvalho (another one of the Mourinho loyalist's) has clocked up 16 La Liga games in two season's. Further evidence that people are just being paranoid.
  6. Because Hazard and Oscar are better than any of the players in our academy, can you imagine where we would have finished if we "gave Kakuta a chance" instead of signing Hazard? The reason Jose used little youth last time is because they were shit, infact the one semi decent one (Robert Huth) Jose used 36 times in two season's. Now when you consider Huth isn't actually that good, had injury problems and we had arguably at the time the three best centre half's in the Premier League infront of him, i would say the fact he wrapped up those amount of appearances was a minor miracle. That's because Barca have strong youth players, upto a couple of years ago we haven't had that for a long time.
  7. He played 20 times in La Liga, most of them off the bench or at right back, he very rarely started in midfield. If you think him or Lamps will play because Jose has a touch of nostalgia your being over paranoid.
  8. No, if players are good enough, they make it, simple. When Iniesta was 20, he was still to properly break into the Barca team and saw them sign Deco, in theory that should have blocked his path, but did it?
  9. Selling Ba and keeping Torres makes no sense whatsoever, especially if Cavani and Lukaku return. Ba would be prepared to fight for his place and/or be a squad player where as Torres would just sulk. Further more Ba is better than Torres and to be honest im stunned it's even debatable, the double standard when it comes to those two are crazy.
  10. From what i have heard he will be a good signing for us, but what we must do is balance this out with some experience this summer. De Rossi and Di Maria would be the perfect examples.
  11. @BlueLyon, If they get Eriksen that will go a long way to replace Gotze and if his time with Wolsburg is anything to go by, Dzeko will be more than capable of doing the buisness back in the Bundesliga. If BVB buy well this summer it won't be a one horse race in Germany next season, believe me.
  12. If Watford want to keep him, he should spend another season there. There's no real rush for him, is there?
  13. Im jealous of whoever gets the pleasure of locking this.
  14. Every one seems to think Bungesliga next year is a forgone conclusion (with good reason i guess). Am i the only one that thinks (if Klopp buys good to replace those two) they could surprise a few people? As was alluded to above Klopp will be pretty hurt by what Gotze and Lewa have done, he will be more determined than ever to win it. They have a good enough team even without those two, if they get Eriksen/KDB and scout well for Lewa's replacement, they could just surprise every one. Don't write Dortmund off just yet.
  15. He appears a player who doesn't have much confidence in himself. As a teenager he was outstanding, i really thought he could have been a fixture here, but he doesn't seem to be able to shrug mistakes off and get on with it, he started well against Newcastle in the CC, then gave away that Fk that led to a goal and was a wreck for the rest of the match, and any other time he played for us. He's got the ability but seems more mentally fragile than Torres.
  16. Every one will have a different opinion on which that was and im intrigued to see every one's opinion's on which it was, but for me there was one match imparticular that played a massive and very under-rated part in getting us there. The Sunderland match at Stamford Bridge. The week before we lost to Southampton and on Saturday Arsenal won away to West Brom to put us down to 5th, i was spending my last day in Costa Rica and i said to numerous people there if we lose to Sunderland it would be very very hard to recover considering our run in. I left my location for the airport knowing we were 1-0 down at half time and i was thinking shit this could screw up our season if we get beat here, when i got there i found out we turned it around and won 2-1 and i don't think i have been so relieved before, couple that with Everton getting a draw at the White Hart Lane got us up to 3rd and from then on we went on an unbeaten run to get 3rd place. I still to this day believe that result was the difference between 3rd and 5th, it would have been hard to mentally recover if we fell to a shock defeat there. A scrappy win if ever i seen one, but by far imo our most important result of the season. Do you agree? if not what in your view was the most important result that got us 3rd? The Rafa rant was probably the key action, but im on about results on the pitch
  17. Manuel Almunia summed up in a minute, makes two great saves then flappes at a cross that nearly cost his team a goal
  18. Some of the stuff i read about Mourinho on here and other forums has me laughing me head off. He won't like Mata, he will stifle Hazard and Mata to accomodate Lampard and Essien, two of my personal favorites.
  19. Actually that's wrong, Torres has picked up a bit of form in a competition Ba was ineligible to play in. In the domestic competition's Ba has still outperformed Torres despite not playing that well himself. Doesn't that fact above tho sum Torres up, in the Europa he literally doesn't have any competition at all for his place and played semi decent but Domestically where he has Ba to see off, he plays shit. The key difference between the two is movement, that chance Ba had at Villa Park in the first half, the movement he made to make himself available is something Torres would never do, i know he missed the chance but that's not the point. I know Ba has not had the desired effect that we hoped, but he has been better than Torres, that should not even be debatable.
  20. With the media myth that Mourinho is an ultra defensive coach and the media myth that Luiz can't defend, ofcourse they were going to put 2 and 2 together and come up with this, their so predictable.
  21. As it stands we will have a near 40 man squad for pre season, i highly doubt any one will go out on loan early as Jose will probably want to access who to keep, who to loan out again and who to get rid off. The players who went to the Confederations most probably won't be there for most of it.
  22. Jet lag is over rated, if you time your sleep on the plane properly, your be fine.
  23. What i want to know is what on earth possessed us to double his Liverpool wages. If he was as ambitious as is he claimed he was we should have offered what he was earning there or just a tiny bit above, after all he took a wage cut to leave his boyhood club, so if he really wanted to join Chelsea surely he would have accepted similar wages?
  24. that quote gets taken far to literally these days.
