That doesn't take away the risk atall.

David Moyes was consulted before the match, as was Dick Advocaat two years ago with Drogba. All either had to do was object and it would not have happened.

Maybe 3 is stretching it but i honestly believe retaining it is a very real possibility. I know we think Manc clubs will improve next season and quite probably will but how many seasons now has thing's meant to have been different next time? When we won in 2015 it was supposedly going to be the last run away title win for quite some time, yet what happened next year? Leicester City ran away with it. This season was suppose to be a close race in the league of manager's and Conte left all trailing in his wake.

I see where you are coming from but for me those 4 month's of Robben between October and January were really special which is why he would get the nod for me. If it was 05/06 vs this season Robben wouldn't get near, would be a toss up between Joe Cole and Pedro.

Sky have done it before. In 2003 United were due to lift the title at the end of there game but the actual match got overlooked for THAT Chelsea vs Liverpool game and the relegation deciding games. Arsenal's invincible season there last match got overlooked for United.

They will head straight to the trophy parade when the Liverpool game ends. It's irritating but what was to be expected.

Portuguese league is a really good place to get borderline world class talent. Martins at Sporting is another one.

Positioning he can sort out with tactical work, but i can't imagine him ever being good enough technically to play in this system. It's a shame as i like him too, but i think i can live with Zouma leaving when i think of what Antonio is building here.

It's said Antonio has improved a lot of the player's. But bar Alonso defensively i don't think he has, he has just done something a lot of manager's can't seem to manage, he's USED THEM PROPERLY. Moses has awful decision making in final 3rd area's but brilliant pace, stamina and athleticism, Conte has put him in a position that plays to his strength's and for the large part hides his major weaknesses. Luiz still has the rash moment's (like vs Rondon Friday), but Conte has found the perfect position for him where-as he can utilize his skills and when the rushes of blood come there's cover around him 9 times out of 10, like when he misjudged the Rondon moment. The one critque of Azpi as a fullback was that he wasn't great going forward, Conte has found the position where he can be the defensive rock he has always been while there not being a major demand on him going forward bar passing it out from the back to help the build up construction, basically anything he does going forward now (like his title winning assist) is a bonus not a requirement. Pedro was shit last season because the system didn't suit his game, he often was in a position where he needed to create magic himself, and he isn't that player Conte's wingback system has allowed Pedro to play closer to Hazard in the pocket and combine with him the way he did with Messi and Villa and the results have been devastating. Now to Antonio's best bit of management after Azpi at RCB, his use of Cesc. Lets be real here, Cesc has as much athleticism as 60 year olds that play badminton at their local gym, and that has led to him burningout and also be a major target to expoit defensively (i still shudder thinking about De Bruyne using him as a traffic cone almost) but with the major weaknesses he also has major strength's, ones we will struggle to replace should he go, and Conte has used him when his strength's are needed and kept him firmly on the bench when his weaknesses were likely to be exploited. Just absolute genius management, i honestly thought Jose mark one was as good as it will ever get, but he's as good if not better.

Exactly, Roman's alleged impatience is wildly over exaggerated.
-
That's what it should be for me. Im glad we only have a week to wait this time as having to wait three weeks in 2015 almost made lifting it an anti climax, by the time the trophy lift came the victory well and truly sunk in.
-
Its always the last home game unless you secure it on the last day away from home, ie Blackburn in 95.
-
The answers easy, at Chelsea he had Eden Hazard, at United he doesn't have a player close to that class so he needs Mata more.
-
Difference Is Conte is light years ahead of Ancelotti, Di Matteo and current day Jose.
-
We are more suited to play towards the striker these days, even Didier himself touched up on it. Furthermore while his all round game will never be Bergkamp level, he is certainly not bad in that regard, Sheffield Wednesday fans shat themselves every time he touched the ball at Hillsbrough.
-
Should be a full first team with the possible exception of giving Luiz a rest and bringing Ake in, Terry can have his day vs Sunderland.
-
Not everyone, look at Fenway sport group at Liverpool for example, imagine these boards last summer had we signed Ragnar Klavan?
-
Not saying otherwise, but the point is the money and ambition is there.
-
Not to mention, despite the 2015 fuck up we still would have broke the world record if Pogba wanted to come here plus we would have spent an obscene amount on Stones if Everton played ball, not to mention the huge bid for Koulibaly which De Laurentis comfirmed was made.
-
Brian Clough once said that if you can guarantee him the league title he would accept first round elimination in every cup.

04/05 - First one, won't ever be topped, we absolutely smashed the league in every single aspect. 16/17 - Everything was not in our favour, the mess Antonio inherited all the way down to the manager's at the rivals, we not only won it Antonio has also created, in my opinion, the best side in our history apart from the back to back sides. 05/06 - First few months of that season i felt we were invincible, i remember we came up vs in form forwards a lot (Henry, Defoe, Bent) and none got a sniff atall. We were everybit as good as the season before, the only difference points wise was the fact we lost the 2 away games after lifting the league wereas 2005 we got 4 points in them. 14/15 - Great football in the first half of the season and got it done in the second (although in many ways that was the start of the crisis). Was very fitting that we won the title with Jose back at the helm exactly 10 years after the very first one. 09/10 - The most entertaining title win for sure but boy we made it hard for ourselves, we were so complacent vs the lesser sides, had we not been id probably have this title win in 3rd. Our 6 out of 6 vs the red rivals however was unreal and those four 7 plus goal games were an absolute joy, including the start of the following season that was 35 goals without reply, insane.

I don't think he will actually win it in season 2 this time. Conte is a relentless league manager, as will Pep be when he gets more players for his style, then if Spurs adapt to Wembley they will get high points again. In previous Jose season 2 he had one challenger at most, now he could have 3 or 4 and i think he might crumble.
-
Very much so this time funnily enough. Albion's heads are gone, and even if Pulis does a tactical performance to stop us winning , we have two more strikes to spare.
-
Exactly this, I don't understand the calls to turn him back into a starter, he's far too big a liability athletically for that. Im hoping he accepts this role beyond this season and what might spin his decision in our favour is that we are his best shot at giving him a CL medal before he retires.
