For me Liverpool is the dark horse for the title next season. I think Danglish has been smart in his signings so far, very shrewd. Their midfield is almost set now they would go and built their defense. U dont need stars to be champions u need a TEAM and that what Danglish is building. I found him an excellent man manager and he is not afraid to take risk. So next season i wouldnt be surprised if they are doing great in the league. Every if they dont win the league they would surely take Arsanal's 4th spot.

One of the best signing in this transfer window. Liverpool is seriously trying to get the team set for winning the title rather than only a 4th place finish. I would say now that i m a little worried as Liverpool are the dark horse to win the title next season.

Dont quite agree with u. Yes we need depth but then for that you need players who can deliver. The above 3 are not exactly those who can provide us with depth so selling them and getting new players is the only options. Else we would become like City where they still got multiply players to their disposal but they are not adding any depth to the squad instead are hogging money in terms of wages. I would wish our board had some basic mentality which is displaced by lot of our fellow TC mate, we would had a better structure and team in place and sure would have won more than what we have now.

It is so strange that i guess 90% of the fans here feel that Ballack was a very important member of the squad yet a couple of ppl in the board couldn't understand that.

Mancini - Sanchez interest over I hope this is true. Sanchez would have no option than to stay in Udinese because he doesnt want to come to Chelsea and Barca doesnt has the money to buy him. Spend another year and if he is not successfully as he was his valuation automatically comes down because for me 44M is clearly a joke. Source

Great video, really shows that this guy is very calm in front of the goal and he has the talent to do it. But i m a little skeptical (maybe i m wrong) on how he would fare in the Premier league because here it is more physical and specially the lower team defend quite deep and cover up. Also here the defenders tend to attack the ball more (Correct me if i m wrong) Although it would be really interesting to see him play in the Premier League specially since most of his countrymen who had similar flair didnt quite succeed.

Good video, brought back some old memories. Well the most that i miss from the lot is Ballack with a doubt, Joe Cole had been an amazing player for us but i think it was time that we had to part with him, Deco had been average and Bellelti a true team person. But Ballack was someone who was a leader on that field, his presence was amazing, his loss for me was felt the most during our bad phase last season. Still think Ballack would have given a lot to the team. For Ballack :tophat: and for Cole, Deco, Bellelti

Good player ... but why even spend 28M when we have Drogba ... makes no sense.

I guess some of u have already pointed out that with Kalou it is all about consistency which he lacks big time. Squad player maybe but starter, wouldnt trust him. For me, Kalou is a good example of being unambitious ( i would add Mikel to that list as well). because i feel that these 2 players have tremendous talent if we compare to the rest in the team but they have never delivered when it matters (please dont say they have got their chances/opportunities). U r a part of a club which is paying u good money let keep going it with, give a couple of decent performances so that coaches remembers and u would stick around, thats the kind mentality these players have from what i see. With kind of talent they have to their disposal they should had been among the best in Europe but where do they stand after what 3 - 4 years at Chelsea " Squad Players". We have examples of ppl really giving it their best, Drogba: Arrogant, complacent before Torres arrived, started giving out performances when his ass was on fire. Lampard: I always thought he was a decent players which limited talent, but boy didnt he use his strength to be Chelsea's finest (today which midfielder can boast 20+ goals in a league for the last 5 years) Struridge: Didnt use his talent to the fullest here, once he was send out he starting kicking asses. So and so forth. But with Kalou and Mikel i havent seen that fire in these many year come what happens. (though i would add that Mikel performance these season was better than any season he had at Chelsea, but still not at the best levels) I would rather have players who want to fight it out for a place in the 11 then those who would be happy to be just a Squad players, i know we cant have everyone in the 11 but that doesnt mean u shouldnt show the desire. Sell them while we they are young.

City unable to sell seven unwanted first-team players

Would love to have Bellamy from that lot despite he being a pain at times but can be a good squad player plus he is good in offensive positions. And he mite come in cheap as well -
Emenalo appointed as Technical director
coolhead23 replied to ack17's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
If this seriously happen, then it would show how RM is unpredictable. On one hand he sign a young manager who has loads of potential and on other hand he puts Emenalo who doesnt has "P" of potential on a position which really needs responsibility. I would rather see RA as the owner + DOF offically rather than Emenalo. I hope Emenalo is not made the DOF rather show the door. -
Chelsea Sack Andre Villas-Boas
coolhead23 replied to Fulham Broadway's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Start of a new era, Not sure. because with every manager who comes in we say the same. But this guy does have the potential as he has being around for sometime, have been nursed under some big names, so it would be really interesting to see what he brings on the field. Having said that, i was not expecting that we would be chasing Villas-Boas as from all the linked/rumoured manager the best would had been Hiddink only because Roman has some belief in him { thats what we all thought}. So this a big surprise and a pleasant one, this shows that RA is someone who is ready to take risks. For one it is a big gamble probably a calculated one. I know most of us are happy to see Villas Boas because of his background and his approach atleast i m. It is impressive. From now on till the end of the transfer window i m sure there would be loads of speculation as to how the club's future looks like i.e. if Villas-Boas comes. What i m worried is that if we have him and he doesnt deliver starting with the first half of the season, RA shouldnt have other plans as seen previously. If we get him it should be a long term planning and not based on number of trophies he gets in the every season atleast for the first few. I would wish that he really digs up into our academy and promotes the deserving ones for more game time { we really have some potential there}. Really wouldnt mind another trophy less season if our youth gets exposure and more game time as we built up to the future. Yes i dont think letting go of Drogba is a good idea because that guy is pure experience and still an asset. Lazy, moody and arrogant at times, but give him competition and he would rise to the occasion which we all saw last season. Once Torres came in he fought it out. Start of a new era: it would only be determined in the next few months based on signings, digging into youth and our gameplan. Now would be too early to say i reckon for now just relax and enjoy the fun. -
In simple term, it means that we have a law in place and now here are different ways to break it.

Thats not entirely true, Messi has got some amazing talent. He is a perfect example of someone using his potential to the fullest though i m scared to say that there is more of him to come. Not many are born with talent like him.

For every football fan, this is worth 15 mins of your life. Amazing player, what he does at times is just magical, great interplay from the other players around him but the finishing is just divine. Is he the God of Football in recent times? <Atleast he plays in God mode> All of Messi's goals in the season 10 - 11. You got to check it to believe it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=poDn59tjNVM

Fair play rules, from the looks of it sounds good. Is suppose to curb on inflated prices. But i can bet u that the men in the coats who sit in the boardroom would surely find loop holes in it and UEFA for one has got loads of if and buts in the rules already. Chelsea when declaring their finance the last time made use of those ifs and buts (if i m not wrong)
-
Wow .... another 35M+ price tag. At this rate if we are to get all our potentials players we would need to shed out way beyond 1Billion. Neymar (41), Sanchez (35+), Pastore (40+), Lukuka (20+) .... and counting. Skysports Source

He mite be better, atleast i havent seen that from him. IMO at times even Gomes would be ashamed of what he does. U just cant rely on him, everytime the ball is around the box it seems like the opponent is going to score. He just the worst among everyone we have and renewing his contract for me really is ridiculous, this at the specially at that time when we are trying to revamp our side. Are we trying to save money on the second goalie and use it in the so called future superstars?

Noooooooooooooooooooooo........... Hilarious Hilario one more year
-
1 Dont see it happening until the first pre season game 2 Emenalo 3 As soon as the rumour mills start 4 I thought we did it when we signed Hilarious Hilario 5 Done already 6 Anelka 7 Most of them from our reserves team i.e. whatever is left from it 8 Sneijder, Adam Johnson/Sanchez, Bastian Schweinsteiger (love to see him in Blues)and some squad players

Phew! Amazing goal. I hope we dont get linked to one MrEric Hassli after this one

Daniel Sturridge Next Season
coolhead23 replied to John Terry lovechild's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
A ) Agreed most of it, though i feel Sturridge can well be an impact player but then thats just another feeling It not abt position mate, it all making the best of what we get. Thats my opinion and probably u mite be correct as per your pers C) Agreed, we would never know the real reason of him getting to that another level. All we can wish is that remains here and raises that bar even further rather than going somewhere else and doing the same D) It was a lucky one, but his performance was much much improved than his earlier ones and thats what changed my views for him. Like i said we can just hope that we get him back rather than selling him or sending him on loan ... gets into the 11 despite whoever comes in .... and continues to take his performance to even further levels .... Wishful thinking, i know -
Daniel Sturridge Next Season
coolhead23 replied to John Terry lovechild's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Completely agreed he was poorly handled. But i would still say he didnt make use of the small "Chances"/Opportunity (Opportunity would be a better word). He is a professional at the end of the day and whatever game time he gets he needs to make most of it else how would everyone know whether he can deliver or not. It a fact if u r not Terry, Cech, Lampard, now Torres u cant guarantee a start at Chelsea so make use of whatever is provided to u. Best example is Josh (Kalou to some extend), just got one start and came in as subs quiet a few times ... has being cool, calm, composed on the field and managed to impress. Today most of us are convinced that he can deliver which was not the case with Sturridge. We all knew he was very talented but on field at times he used to be lost whatever may be the reason behind it. For me at Bolton he has picked himself to another level and has displaced that yes he is just not another player in the crowd. And if i remember correctly, first goal at Bolton Sturridge came in as a sub and he excelled in that small time frame (correct me if i m wrong)
