  1. You just had to bring that up, didn't you.
  2. Don't get Ba unless it's for uber-cheap and he's prepared to be a squad player. This season was the first time since 08-09 he didn't miss significant time due to injury. In addition, he pretty much completely disappeared from the scoresheet and looked generally poor after he returned from ACON.
  3. I agree to an extent about the motivation, but also want to add that at 34 years of age, I don't think he has it in him physically to consistently put in the efforts and performances we've grown to know and love.
  4. After my horrow and revulsion at being pumped by the dirty scousers died down, I took the following away from this match: Meh, we played mostly reserves and it showed. I am absolutely aghast at the performances turned in by Brana and JT though. Turnbull is terribull. Our beloved Bison is well and truly done. His knees have betrayed him. Quite unfortunate really. I was glad that the Big Puppy got some gametime. Suarez is a complete and utter scumbag. His scurrilous attack on Brana should earn him a ban. It would be fitting if someone gave that rat-faced cunt a taste of his own medicine. Where's Vinnie Jones when you need him? Finally, we've really put all in our eggs in one basket, eh? Though our odds of finishing fourth were pretty slim going into Anfield. It's Champions League or bust. I, for one, welcome the challenge.
  5. If Dortmund let him go for £7m, they are getting hosed. I still fail to see where he fits into Manure's standard formation and plans.
  6. Absolutely not. The Mirror must really be scraping the bottom of the barrel if they are making this stuff up. Simpson is ok(ish) defensively, but offers nothing going forward. He is young, mediocre and English though, perhaps Queen Kenny might be interested.
  7. nice win. we certainly made it interesting for the last 20 or 30 minutes. all the sweeter beating the scousers.
  8. So did Ba. Now Ba hasn't scored in 3 months. Granted, Cisse's arrival had something to do with this. However, I'd like to see a bit more of Cisse before I'm completely sold.
  9. I can understand what you're saying. Even if he's terrible, we didn't spend much on the fee.
  10. Unless Manure want to change their standard formation and push Chicarito and Welbeck to the side, I don't see how Kagawa is a great fit for them. Kagawa doesn't offer much defensively so he would weaken their central midfield in that department. I think Javi Martinez would make more sense for them.
  11. Pretty much every match is from here on out, and I love it!
  12. I wouldn't neccessarily call it a "good" season if we didn't win a trophy and finished 4th, but it wouldn't be a bad one either. Especially considering our protracted bouts of shitty form this season.
  13. I would guess both. This is a low risk, high reward purchase.
  14. A year or two ago, I would've been overjoyed with Marin's signing. Now, not so much. He's been in poor form this season, and injured (though his lack of fitness could explain his form). However, he's certainly young enough to regain his form and improve as a player. Overall, I think he's a positive addition and hopefully this is further evidence that we are changing our ways in the market. He's young, has a high upside, cost very little, has resale value, and if he turns out to be a gem, we can get a couple contracts out of him.
  15. I jumped up in the air, started clapping my hands, yelling "fuck yeah!". Then I proceeded to make noises that I can only compare to the yipping of a pleased hyena.
  16. Just when you thought it was impossible to hate Barca anymore: http://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/futbol-castiga-barca-con-eliminacion-mas-injusta-1704907 A translation of the first few sentences in the first paragraph: "It is difficult to explain how the club could throw away a playoff in which they were so infinitely better than their opponent. The Chelsea at Camp Nou was like that of the first leg at Stamford Bridge. A team stingy, cowardly, miserable. Their ultra-conservative tactic led them to defend with all their players inside or on the edge of the area Cech. So, without hesitation. It's amazing how, with so little, they were able to score three goals in 180 minutes." Reading this rubbish makes me all the more glad we beat these cunts.
  17. I was beyond proud of just about all of the team today, bar one John Terry. A moment of stupidity from our captain has cost him a chance at redemption and weakened our defense. However, I didn't think it was a straight red. A yellow, yeah, but if red cards are handed out for every offense that is similar in nature and severity, we would see an influx of undermanned sides. Also, the Ivanovic booking for dissent was very soft. If the same rules applied to the Catalans, they would've seen more yellow than Carrow Road on matchday. Overall, I am beyond elated! We vanquished one of the best collections of footballers in history, but what impressed me most was the passion, resolve, and unity that the lads displayed. Logic and statistics are out the window. Behold, the magic of the cup.
  18. Still haven't made up my mind on whom I would prefer. One of the big things weighing on my mind is that if Bayern progress, it will be a home game for them.
  19. No matter what happens at the Nou Camp, we bloodied these bastards' noses and knocked 'em down a couple notches.
  20. Shouldn't you be off purchasing a new inflatable flailing arm tube man in preparation?
  21. Gooners in trouble down 2-0 inside 8 minutes.
  22. It is an absolutely absurd and a farcical that so much is being made of the goal controversy. FFS, we won 5-1. That single goal and its timing made very little difference, even from a statistical standpoint, in the outcome of the match. What did make the difference is, even at a goal down in the 2nd half, Spuds became a bunch of gutless capons. Unfortunately, the coverage of this match is all too familiar to Chelsea supporters, i.e. when we win, we're just lucky. Not good. Lucky. Pretty much most of the football media need to go fornicate themselves.
