  1. I am a massive supporter of Glasgow Rangers. So of course I follow the SPL closely. I watch a fair amount of serie a as well. some la liga, and occasionally the bundesliga. US national team too.
  2. Feeling fairly calm about this one. Most of my dejection was used up last week. I don't expect us to go through, but by no means think it's done and dusted. We need to retain possession better, and not give away the ball as cheaply as we did at the bridge. Play smart, play hard. Good things will happen (sorry for the banal analysis, but it's true).
  3. I have seen Lampard not at his best all too much as of late, but this night he was woeful. There were so many errant passes from him and the entire team. Our attack has started to remind me of a big budget Hollywood movie with a plot that goes nowhere.
  4. Not to be overly pedantic, but it's Ian Darke, not Drake. I think he's pretty good. I preferred it when Derek Rae the main ESPN match commentator. Thank heavens Andy Gray isn't commentating anymore. I can only imagine the pony we would have to listen to if he were calling today's game.
  5. I gotta agree. I think the FA will cave at least to some extent.
  6. My Fergie hate has reached an all time high this season. Ditto for that whinging little bastard shrek.
  7. From the Daily Mail's article by Sam Mokbel: Arsenal's Robin van Persie blasts whining Chelsea and Barcelona "Arsenal striker Robin van Persie last night spiced up the title race by branding Chelsea a team of moaners who spend too much time complaining to referees." Van Persie, whose side are four points ahead of Carlo Ancelotti’s team in the fight to win the Barclays Premier League, labelled such behaviour ‘b****y annoying’ and ‘unsporting’." "As he prepared for Holland’s Euro 2012 qualifier in Hungary on Friday night, Van Persie said: ‘Barcelona's players have the habit of whingeing about every- thing, and that is disappointing. In England, Chelsea’s players behave in the same way." full article http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1369668/Arsenals-Robin-van-Persie-blasts-whining-Chelsea-Barcelona.html This takes a certain amount of audacity to say that we are a bunch of whingers. First of all, I would like to say that we complain as much or less than most teams in the PL. Second, Arsenal are renown for the moaning and whinging throughout the league. The Italians have a phrase for Robin, "Che un plonkero!"
  8. Anyone can be a success, as long as they set their goals low enough.
  9. Schalke is the team I want to draw. They look to be the weakest side left in the competition.
  10. craig bellamy scholes rooney the brothers neville rio sczesny (or however the hell you spell his name) pretty much every barca player, especially valdes stephen cunt lucas de jong heitinga fletcher kevin davies don't get me started on spl players. my list is long enough as it is.
  11. My Dad started clucking at me like a chicken cos I was showing hesitancy. Worked wonders.
  12. It was poor refereeing that denied Torres his first Chelsea goal. What a bunch of twits.
  13. LMAO. Quality. Almost forgot about him.
  14. Haven't drank in some time due to some health issues. However, I liked Boddington's, Bass, Heineken and my fav McEwan's Scotch Ale. Also enjoyed bourbon and scotch, neat or on the rocks. 7 and 7s as well.
  15. From what I gathered in the group stages, Copenhagen is an extremely motivated and cohesive unit. No doubt that their players and fans alike will be up for this one. I sincerely hope we show some tenacity.
  16. I'm very sorry to hear about your illness. I wish you all the best with your treatment and recovery. Take care my blue brother.
  17. I concur. Also, the added exertion (mental and mainly phyiscal) is not something we needed a few days before our trip to Copenhagen.
  18. It was good to see us boss the game for the most part. However, as with Fulham, we lacked quality in the final third of the pitch. Really deserved to win this one. Everton were seemingly trying to hold on for penalties from the middle of the first half on. I have a burgeoning dislike for Everton. Not cos they are a recent bogey team, but cos of their players and antics. How they only escaped with four yellows in the game is beyond me. Add in the 32 fouls they committed, and we have a clearer picture. Lastly, that simpering cur Dowd was shocking. In particular, the Ramires penalty that he gave a yellow card for simulation was absurd. However, ultimately the the responsibility lies with us to put the game to bed, and overcome appalling referees and foul play of our opponents.
  19. Dunno if he's another Robinho, but if we are going to spend the type of cash that has been mentioned, why not spend on Sanchez. He is a proven commodity in a top league.
  20. A very frustrating game to be sure. We sorely lacked the ability to unlock the door on the cottagers' parked bus. There was no quality in the final third. We lacked width for the majority of the game as well. Definitely need some pacy, skillful wingers to come in. Also, Anelka and Lampard generally were far too deep. In order to not make this a completely negative post, I will say that Luiz (bar his error at the end) is fantastic. What a player! Also, Ramires had a great performance today. I am a huge fan of the energy and desire he brings to our side.
  21. I do think we paid over the odds for him, but as far as threshold for pain goes, the video speaks for itself. Especially at around 2:03 where he heads a clearance despite a nasty gash on his head. His resolve was quite impressive during this match last season. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6Xi8hdtwRE
  22. I think Fulham have been playing a 4-4-2, or at least a 4-4-1-1, and Dempsey as a forward/second striker with Dembele.
  23. The formations are on footballuser.com. I've been checking the site out myself.
