I'm nearly certain there is better value and quality to be had with non-homegrown players in this market, which makes our obsession with Chamberlain and Drinkwater all the more puzzling/frustrating.

Both were by no means "stonewall", no matter what that numpty Phil Neville had to say on MOTD. Apparently, Gary not only got the brains in the family, but the eyesight as well. Overall, it was a performance of passion, intelligence, and hard graft from our side, and that's all we can ask for from the lads.

I think we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves here, although I am always a bit skeptical when it comes to transfer "news". "Sky sources" could mean any number of things. However, it is more than likely that we have a serious interest in the player and the means to complete the deal. Additionally, I would imagine the club, much like the fans, would like to see a transfer completed sooner rather than later.
