Nah I don't think Terry handball was a penalty. Those are never given. Essien's was given because his arm was raised way over his head. Terry's were not by his side but still in a natural position which shouldn't be given if he's so close. Handball from a distance, penalty regardless cause you should have got it out of the way. But if it's close range where it isn't humanly possible to react that fast then they look if it's in a natural position or not and Terry's were in a natural position. Should not be penalized for that.

I know there have been many negatives this season, but even when there is a positive staring you right in your face some still keep bringing up the negatives. Knock one off before you watch Chelsea if you're really so bitter all the time.

The only other guy we can play in the hole and still have some success is Meireles.
-
Obv, one of them is a mistake. Why do you want to make the decision tonight the mistake? Doesn't make sense. If you want to the refs to be consistent, complain about the the Australia penalty, not this one.

THATS RIGHT!!!

4-2-3-1 Cech Ferreira-Luiz-Terry-Cole Meireles-Mikel Ramires-Mata-Kalou Torres I like it, Mikel and Meireles were excellent together in the double pivot against Leicester. There are only 2 ifs for me: Kalou and Meireles. Meireles, I can understand that he provides some extra creativity especially since we have Torres up front, so probably the right choice. Kalou, not so sure, he can dribble a bit and cause problems SOMETIMES but more than often he looses the ball, but I guess he would link up better with Torres than anyone else, but maybe I woulda preferred Malouda.

Still don't get how people made what Drogba did such a huge deal. Just seems so pathetic but then again, I guess you use whatever you can to motivate yourselves. Regardless, the last thing I'd want to do is to piss Drogba off lol.

Our worst case scenario should be a scoring loss by 1 goal. But our defence has been beast of late, so I'm hoping we keep a clean sheet and maybe nick a goal or atleast 1-1 .

I tried becoming a member on CIA but unfortunately registration is closed. Is there any other way I can tag along with those going from Southern Indiana or thereabouts to New York?

Yeah first half he didn't do anything so you didnt miss much. He got more of the ball in the 2nd and always looked dangerous, should have done better with that chance he created for himself on the right foot. The other team were sending 2-3 guys at him every time he got the ball lol. Got subbed off in the 90th minute to a standing ovation.
-
Not getting a lot of the ball on the right wing, Dijon is going down the left most of the time, but gotta say he's very good at tracking back. Good to see.
-
Sturridge - Mata - Kakuta Torres Fuck off everyone else, fuck long balls, fuck the slow tempo.
-
I don't see what the big deal is. 18M for the kind of potential he has is nothing. Even if he doesn't turn out to be Chelsea quality, he's so young, we can easily sell him for 10-15M in a couple of years. Essentially the opportunity cost is 3M-5M at best. And, if he turns out to realize his potential, well then good luck getting a bid below 50M.

Stadium looks amazing. Dayuuum!

Wow, looks horrible.

Must get 3 points here. Anything less and no way catch up to 4th place then. Spurs have a considerably easier run in than us.

The Rebuilding Project - Analysis of Our Squad Part 3: Midfield
Bir_CFC replied to Superblue's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I don't think we have to let go off Mikel, Essien & Meireles. You still need some depth. I would only part ways with Essien. Mikel I will keep for sure. Lamps & Meireles can both provide good cover as well. Especially Meireles, he might have had some bad games, but he's a creative player and can play in the mid and can give cover to Mata as well. I think 1 world class creative minded midfielder is a must for us, priority number 1. We need some talent that can help link the back 4 to the forwards on a consistent basis. -
We need midfielders more than out and out scorers. It was fine when we had Drogba cause he just used to take on the whole team and still somehow score but now we need people behind the forwards who can create for themselves and others so we don't have to rely on one person. That's how you build a team.
-
Cech was good. Luiz and Cahill were good. Mikel was the only midfield player who was decent, everyone else was really really poor. Torres and Drogba were both decent as well. But our midfield was really really poor. I was begging to put on Malouda instead of Essien so Mata could move in the middle, just don't understand why we don't play our BEST PLAYER in his BEST POSITION!!! That said, Essien very very unlucky with that penalty. And I could see that Nasri goal coming a mile away. Too bad really cause overall we defended very well and was hoping we woulda sneaked by with a draw. It's just too bad that our midfield is so poor that we can't link up with the forwards and have to resort to long balls from Cech.
-
I wouldn't put in Sturridge for Ramires. Only if we go a goal down. Ramires might not be the best in the final third right now but 0-0 is a good result for us, let's not get greedy. 1 change I would make however is Malouda for Meireles. Malouda always puts in work and that will allow Mata to move in the middle.
-
Back four have been decent. So has Mikel and Torres. Not much from anyone else. Meireles baaad. Malouda on for Meireles and move Mata in the middle.
-
I see. Part-time studies are always very hard. Good Luck! I hate it when I have to study on matchdays. If we win, I just read about the win and watch highlights and if we loose well then really whats the point in living, so why study? lol
-
And for those worried about the exclusion of Sturridge, no need to worry. Ramires can rape them just as good, if not better. Don't you remember him walking through half their team last year. Plus, Meireles and Mata right behind Torres is BEAST.
-
Revision class 6 weeks before exams? Wtf! 6 weeks before exams you should be like 50% through the course itself lol. That's way too early to be revising or even starting to study.
-
Don't see anything wrong with starting Torres. The 4-2-3-1 with Mikel, Lamps and Meireles in the mid is pretty dynamic cause Mikel stays back and Lamps and Meireles can switch positions to throw off their marking. Woulda liked Sturridge but I like Ramires on the right wing, at least for the first half. Nothing wrong with going defensive. The only thing that worries me a bit is Mikel and Lamps in the double pivot. They've never played there together. Lamps played with Essien and Mikel played with Meireles. Anyways, Lamps is a boss, he'll be fine. Mikel vs Yaya would be sexy. Mikel is a boss on his day.
