I'm not living in the past, I'm glad we're doing better than that, but lets put this into perspective. It's not doom and gloom.

I have complained, that is ambition as you say, doesn't mean I also can't appreciate where we are and what we've done. We're consistently a top team and that's great. We could have done better, but we could have also done a LOT worse and that is what I'm saying. We most certainly have not hit rock bottom, which is the most important point in what I am saying to you. You are overreacting. We could be doing better, and should aim to do so, but we're not rock bottom, not by a long long shot.

All of what we won that you mentioned is also top stuff that I am delighted to have won and/or to be winning.

What do we need with another centre half? We could get rid of one now and be fine for cover there. Centre half is the last position we should buy for, actually. We thought Shevchenko would be an amazing signing too. But I do agree Villa is our best bet for a top forward. Benzema, as others have mentioned, would also be an excellent option, as would Aguero, but they will both cost extortionate amounts of money. I agree with all of this. So what if he's 30? There's nothing to say he can't still be quality at 30 years of age. 4 or so years is plenty of time to justify signing someone. I would welcome Tevez, definitely. I reckon one centre-back might be off as well as those you mention.

Warnie, you have the attitude of glory hunting United fans. Anything other than the best is not good enough. We are a club that has always been mildly successful at best, and we are incredibly lucky to now be in a position to challenge for the highest honours. We should never forget that. This, and the last 5 seasons, have been brilliant, and long may it continue. I am confident we can clinch an FA Cup trophy to round off the season, and any trophy is superb.

We can't keep Hiddink. He doesn't come across as the sort of man to go back on his word, and his word was that he would return to Russia come June. Moyes and O'Neill have both done superb jobs in building good teams from relatively little in the case of Moyes, and from a large core of English talent in the case of O'Neill. Whilst I'm not sure they are good enough for Chelsea, I'm afraid I can't say that about ANY realistic choice and as such whoever we go for is going to be a risk.

We can settle for Ballack for another year, it just grates that he's earning so much while doing it.
