Or a stadium! Maybe he could buy the naming rights of Stamford Bridge and boost the clubs revenue that way. :champions:

Luiz!
-
The international break really couldn't have come at a worse time. Our squad was coping really well with preparing themselves and playing one game a week.
-
One of the incentives in the Luiz deal was that Chelsea will play a friendly against Benfica in the summer.
-
This doesn't work. I've tried with Kalou for 5 years
-
He is exactly what we need. So it won't happen.
-
I think Malouda is out in the sumnmer. Certainly the way he is playing suggests he knows as much.
-
But we have better players than Man City. While we're at it we have better players than Arsenal and Utd too. The major dip in form this season was shameful.
-
He was great tactically, he took up some great positions. Lampard was just abysmal. One good pass a few weeks ago doesn't make up for misplacing simple passes and being tackled any time he attempts to run with the ball. How many times did he shoot yesterday from crazy distances? Really starting to become a joke.

Solid performance against a team that showed very little ambition. The teams that trouble us the most are the ones that come to Stamford Bridge and play on the front foot. I'd be ashamed if I was Mancini because he has the players to play a more positive game. I thought our defence played very well, Luiz and Ashley in particular were standouts for me. Essien is improving and Ramires has really come on a great deal. It wasn't just the goal but his energy and ability to track and close opponents down is second to none. Up front I know I give Kalou a lot of stick but his style of play is exactly what we need. A second striker that drops deep, tries to conjure up something special. Now if only we can get a second striker worthy of playing for Chelsea. Kalou is the right type of player but the wrong level of talent if you get what I mean. He is just too weak, slow and and doesnt have a good shot but the ideas are right. If only Anelka had the brain to play the way Kalou wants to play. Malouda and Lampard were tragic. Easily the two worst Chelsea players on the pitch. At least with Malouda when he plays badly he's replaced but Lampard seems to have free reign to stink up the place.

I'm fine, thanks for asking.

Hear, hear! Sometimes I wonder what our players actually do in training. Because they don't move together, aren't aware of space or how to make it for themselves, turning on the ball in the opposition half etc all these things that almost all of our players seem incapable of doing.
-
I don't think Henrique is saying Van Basten/Rijkaard are great managers, I assume he's simply saying Ancelotti is no better than them as he is pretty average. And I agree.
-
Ancelotti is a goner. I hope the new manager brings in his own team of coaches/assistants with a clear playing style. I honestly couldn't tell you what the styles is; fullbacks that go forward but can't cross, powerful midfield but zero creativity/playmaking ability, no wingers, strikers who don't recieve the ball in dangerous areas. It is absolute chaos at the moment, almost an anything goes style with no identity. I hope the club has identified a new manager and are already working on potenital targets with him. That would be the most sensible thing they could do.
-
I'm surprised you all rate Sneijder so much. Good player no doubt but very overrated it seems. He isn't anywhere near as creative or a dominant playmaker as people suggest. He is a poor mans Lampard in my opinion. We can do much better i.e. somebody younger, costs less with far more potential.

Arnesen to join Hamburg as sporting director

It's very tricky at first but once you settle down a bit you should be OK. I'd say you need maybe 5-6 lessons to master the moving off, stopping, keeping distance and being aware of your surroundings. Then another 5-10 lessons depending on how quickly you can get into a routine of carrying out manouvers. Don't make the mistake I made when I started driving lessons, failed my test and then just gave up for a year because I was pissed off. I had to almost start from scratch again the second time which meant I wasted some money. But passing was one of the best feelings ever, only made 4 minors in my second test The best drivers pass second time around
-
It wouldn't because that is exactly what McEachran needs. McEachran is a possession footballer who uses the ball extremely well, he would combine better with the type of player you're suggesting than a Ramires or Essien ( who are great athletes but not great footballers).
-
I respect and appreciate Lampard. He is arguably Chelsea's best ever player. Pat Nevin, who usually provides decent assessments, had this to say That is the biggest problem. And it's further compounded by the atrocious wing-play, there are no decent crosses whatsoever. Our strikers are more or less starved of any type of service.

We're not very good in the games in which opponents sit back and defend in numbers(Inter, City, Liverpool). We struggle to create chances against the fairly open teams, let alone a team like City that will defend with 10 and have Tevez alone up front. I'd take a draw now but I think we will lose 1-0 again.
