  1. I've just been watching some videos of him on youtube from the recent u20 world cup and I have to say this guy is still very, very raw. I'd even go as far as to say he probably won't be a Chelsea player any time soon if at all. I know judging players on youtube is a bit silly but these show all of his touches in the games and I have to say that isn't very impressive at all. His passing isn't that good, technically he is about average and he is very greedy and shoots when there are better options. He's going to have to do a lot of improving in the next few years. I think he will be a Vitesse player for a long, long time.
  2. Then what happens to Oriol Romeu? Meireles is a CM if he's going to replace anybody it's either Lampard or Ramires. Mikel and Romeu are our two specialist DM players.
  3. Perhaps, but only because he was overpirced. Besides Modric isn't a behind the strikers type of player, he's a deep-lying playmaker and he and a Mata can coexist in the same side.
  4. One of the main reasons the diamond never worked for us was because we didn't have the guy behind the strikers. Joe Cole was rubbish, Lampard didn't fit the position and Yossi was always injured. Anelka did OK sometimes. Mata can do that role very well.
  5. Maybe he will surprise us but I think he will stick with the usual for now. We'll start to see changes when the games come thick and fast every 3 days. What will be interesting to see is the subs bench. Will guys like Oriol, Lukaku and McEachran all be on there?
  6. It's about time we produced our own right-back, since we struggle to buy any decent ones! lol
  7. Gyan is injured apparently. That simply won't happen. He didn't even make the bench in the last game and that was with Sturridge still suspended. His days are numbered.

  9. Players like Lukaku take years to develop. He has to learn how to use his body and improve his technique. Honestly we won't see the best of him for years. But he's a good young player now and hopefully he will develop. Welbeck is a better player at the moment without doubt because he has shown he is capable at this level. But if you ask me who has the bigger potential then obviously I think Lukaku because he is capable of being an absolute monster i the future.
  10. That's your view, I think they won it because they had the best squad and their players performed. We took them to the last month but they also beat us 4 times out of 5, knocked us out the Champions League and won the title in the end by 9 points. I agree that it takes time to really assess the teams but we have a very slow team with very little energy all over the park. It doesn't take 4 months to decide to come to that conclusion.
  11. Age and experience are not mutally exclusive. Rooney is 25 but is very experienced for example. Utd may have a average CM options but you don't need to have a world class CM options to win the league, they proved that last year. As long as you can defend and score goals then Anderson, Carrick, Cleverly etc are perfectly fine options.
  12. Do you disagree with what he's said about tempo? In our first three games so far it's been the usual slow build-up with very little dynamism where it takes about 20 minutes to get once decent chance. If you look at the top teams in Europe (Real, Barca, Utd etc) they all play with great energy and speed.
  13. If we win the league this year it will be the biggest achievement of all.
  14. 100% Good post. He is a great athlete but a pretty average footballer.
  15. Ramires as a DM? Ramires can run all day but his passing is rubbish. It would be suicide to play him there.
  16. We rarely have our best 11 players fit and on form. It's up AVB to pick players on form and rest when needed. If he plays favourites like Carlo did then we're done for.
  17. After a lot of thought I've decided this isn't the worst signing in the world. Sure he isn't exactly what we needed but he provides cover and is a full international so clearly is a decent player. I guess most of us we're hoping we would build for the future in just one summer which was never going to happen. Who knows, some young player somewhere might have a great season and prove to be a better option than an overpriced Modric and McEachran will definitely get more minutes.
  18. He just played the full 90 minutes for Spain u21s who beat Georgia 7-2 away from home.
  19. What pisses me off most about this signing is that we've had about 3 months to either sign Modric or a similar sort of player and have ended with Liverpool's 5th choice utility midfielder. This has been a massive let down.
  20. Me sentimental? Far from it. I don't particularly rate the current Malouda and think he should be nowhere near the starting 11 along with Lampard and a few others. You want him gone, then fine. But show a little class mate.
