He did alright, but wow I can't believe how slow and sluggish he seems. Can't escape the feeling that he lost all pace, unpredictability and buzz around him. Seems like your average striker with a cool name on his back. I know I am being harsh, but 50million and 150k per week should get you something like Tevez did in a match like this and until I start seeing that, I won't be really satisfied with Fernando, but nevertheless, good to see him in a nice position and to score. Those two didn't meet a lot last season, he was either in a good position with no balls ( ) or in bad position with the ball at his feet. Not an easy decision for the club to make regarding our strikeforce.

We had it coming...when you can't beat MLS team, Milan's reserves and Brighton with a strong 11 good luck beating Champions of England with a man less. Not a word to say on Ivanovic, completely idiotic tackle with 2 legs, it was a fair decision and I'm not really sure why he did it... I am still not completely sure what's the true problem with our defense, but I wouldn't blame in on the back 4 but more on the 2 deep midfielders. We need to pass way better and to be running more of the ball. Mikel had a bad game and for me doesn't deserve a shot against Wigan. Nice to see Torres in a good position for once and see him act as a striker. When Danny and Ryan were put on we looked much more determined, couldn't escape the feeling that Mata, Hazard and Torres were just to lazy to chase the ball. I'm really happy for Bertrand for scoring that goal, he deserved it and got us back into the game and probably prevented the humiliation. Imagine that, European Champions losing to Champions of England 4-1 or something like that? Ouch. Let's learn from mistakes and move on, this match wasn't that important though I would've been really happy if we won it. I will simply admit it, Manchester City have a better squad then us and a manager that has been there for a lot more then 6 months.

People need to stop telling the staff when to close the threads. The transfer window is still on going and with Lukaku going on loan we are left with 2 strikers, both not really proven at Chelsea. If some of you remember, Liverpool were saying they won't sell Torres and that he is staying but in the end he left and came here. Just because some people come out and say something, it doesn't automatically mean it's 100% true. Cavani's situation is no the same obviously but chances are there, and while I am not saying I expect us to bring Cavani in the end here, it doesn't mean it's impossible. Stay away from the thread if you find it pointless...

Meireles + money for Cavani would be a great deal for us. Raul doesn't have a bright future here, his passing is not good enough for double pivot and he is not good enough for CAM position. At 29 years of age he is past the peak of his career and we should seek to get as much as we can for him.

In my honest opinion, quality has jumped drastically since the pre-season started and it's only going to keep improving. I find some rants about quality not being what it used to a bit dramatic and not really true. If you didn't notice, Jim works on the forum really a lot trying to implement the new features and upgrade the old ones. As you can see, the forum is active 24/7 and we have a lot of traffic which can cause some problems. I will take servers load problems from time to time and enjoy the wonderful design and features we have rather then have my eyes bleed like on other fan forums. And stop throwing pictures here.

It has been a while since we did a design tournament on the forum and it's time to do it again! It starts today and ends on 13th of August. Winner will be determined by the voting from the community in the separate threads linked below. You can also find them in the Chelsea multimedia Every member can enter and submit his work.
