I know that this is a stretch, but ive realized something lately and everyone i have talked to about it says it makes sense... is it just me or are the players we have been signing lately not only good players, but good people? -Ramires, oscar, torres, mata, cahill- they all seem like quiet guys that are actually really nice -kdb, marin, courtois, lukaku, romeu- they do talk to the media a good amount but seem extremely mature and know what they want and how chelsea will help -hazard- he is viewed by the media as a egotistical guy, but he really isnt -meireles- im not real sure how to judge him -luiz- the guy is crazy but he is hilarious and having people like him helps the dressing room i know that we have bought players like drogba and essien that give so much to other people, but pretty much all of players recently seem to fit this category it just seems to me like we have been buying players who are not only good, but also likeable. im not sure if the board is trying to get our club a better reputation or make us more likeable, but if thats what they are doing, i think its working. it will help people who arent fans respect the team as mature adults and not hate us just cause the players wont make as many stupid decisions off the field. i hope if this what they are trying to do that they keep this philosophy.

it often seems like the most intelligent players are lazy, but they arent they know when to move and when to not. they know how to get in good positions. they know when to conserve their energy. theres no need for players to run around like crazy the entire game, its a waste. to alot of people pirlo seems lazy, but he is quite the opposite. he is the most intelligent player in the world at the moment for me and does all the things that go unnoticed. to a lesser extent mikel can be an example, i know he normally just sits back and stays there, but he is pretty good at positioning himself either getting open for a simple pass or trying to stop atleast one lane of an oppositions attack. one of my "friends" who is a tottenham fan complains that modric needs someone like scott parker or sandro beside him to work hard because he doesnt work hard enough, but anyone who really watches him and focuses on what he does knows that he is constantly moving when he needs too. xabi alonso is an example i will use. he doesnt look like he moves too much but for me he is the best in the world at what he does. he is always either available for a pass or moving around to get someone else open for a pass. defensively he also cuts off passing lanes as good as anyone. lampard is one that has gained intelligence and been alot smarter about his positioning and when to make his trademark runs forward and when to hold back and conserve. my family says he has gotten lazy now that he is older but he is smarter. for me oscars biggest asset is his intelligence. yes he has the techncal abilities and amazing passing range but he knows how move around the field and get open and become available for passes better than anyone his age. this is what separates him from other players. for him to have this a his age is incredible, and its something that stays with you your entire career. this is why i think some people think he can develop into a deep lying playmaker, because his intelligence is very similar to xabi alonso and pirlo and modric. . i think he has better technical abilities, and therefore, play higher up the field, but he will be an asset wherever he plays. he realizes when to take a chance and make brilliant pass forward and when to make a simple pass to create little openings in teams or just keep possesion. maybe he can start higher up the field and later in his career when his physical abilities start to fade he can convert to deeper and use his superior intelligence to make a massive contribution. and if you truly watch him and focus on him during the course of a game, you realize that he is constantly on the move either making himself available (which he is so good at, most every attack somehow went through at some point) or he is moving and opening up lanes for other people (something people fail to realize how important this is in the game). he smart enough to realize when he can take breaks and just sit in a certain positions blocking off certain passing lanes for the opposition. so yes to some he might seem lazy but to me he is the most intelligent player on the field.

is it just me or do the groups kinda seem like 2 line-ups? i did the closer group and it would be Ivanovic-luiz-chalobah-ferreira Mceachran-mikel marin-hazard-benayoun Lukaku
-
what time is this game Eastern time in the US? i always have trouble figuring these things out
-
Wherever there's Terry, there's controversy haha He was class though
-
Was an absolute beast today, ran the game for me. Best player on the field with ronaldo no new links obviously but hes a great player for porto and played an amazing game when it mattered most for portugal
-
Who said he has less defensive capabilities than scholes?

Champions League Final 2012 - Chelsea 1 (4)-(3) 1 Bayern Munich

My preferred team: Cech Bos-cahill-Luiz-Cole Mikel-lamps Kalou-mata-Bertrand Drogba Obviously the Bertrand thing with prolly not happen but I think it's a great idea -
Well in a 4-3-3 theres not always technically 2 attacking mids and I just put cm in there instead of attacking mids cause they play in the center. These things vary. And in a 4-2-3-1 the 2 defensive mids aren't always completely defensive. And obviously he can't Play there right now, hence why I put I think we should convert him. I dont no whether or not he will ever be competent enough defensively

I honestly think that we should to convert him in to a on of 2 cm's in the 4-2-3-1 system. He would really need to work on the defensive aspect but the vision he has and the way he passes actually reminds of scholes, especially his long range passing. Hes so accurate with it, it's superb. Or if we play a 4-3-3 then one of the center mids
-
And with the jersey sales and all that money we got from him, we would probably actually make money. Personally with the way he's been playing for the past month, I want him to stay if he keeps it up
-
I think it goes to show how fed up most of us are with the old gaurd. People want to look to the future. Lukaku is by no means ready to be our main striker but he needs to be used or go on loan next season.
-
He has created the most chances in the premier league...yea he's not very good. He's not very important
-
I just want whoever it will be to give even more chances to our youth. Sell the ones that need to be sold, buy younger players and start promoting from within the club youth and reserve
-
To play midfield you need to be consistent throughout the entire game. Forward is different, you can have a moment of brilliance and score and that's all you need. But in midfield you touch the ball way too much just to have one moment of brilliance to have a good game. Our midfield isn't consistent enough throughout The game. They not only are no where near creative enough but they also don't make the simple passes consistently enough.
-
I just wanna no why he's wearing flip-flops (sandals) in the snow
-
I have officially nicknamed him bam-bam
-
if drogba played today and did the same thing as torres people would be saying that he is just an all around great player and he works for the team. they would say that he did excellent and created chances for everyone else. but since it was torres...he needs to score for it to be a great performance

10 reasons to be delighted with AVB so far

excellent post tomo he seems to have control of a lot of things that our previous managers did not (this was much needed) he's not afraid of anything. that and his passion for the game are my favorite two things about him -
