  1. I decided to make an honest list of all the reasons to keep torres past this summer. The next 20 or so lines are all the reasons I could find. That's all of them
  2. Lol, you can't be serious about terry out
  3. I watched it and I'm pretty positive he was playing in the midfield like normal. I either completely missed everything or he thinks it's some other guy
  4. Fair enough, I mean Iva has been offensively normally crossing and taking players on so it was a different role to that. But yea I agree maybe he should have put salah on. The only thing I can think of is maybe because we already had ba and shurrle on and they are both very direct type of players. So maybe he wanted willian who should be better at breaking down tight defending. There was space in behind their defense, so salah might have made sense though.
  5. I agree about keeping ramires on cause he was ticking time bomb. Even though if he could keep his head, he should thrive with his style in situations like this. But what's wrong with keeping willian on? You can't sub every single player with a card. And Iva went up front because we were just playing long balls. I think the idea was for him and ba to hopefully be able to knock the long balls down and gain chances from that. Make sense to me. But we get what we deserve in that fact that we never to enough early in games. Never kill anything off. We were in control but didn't do enough with it. We aren't decisive enough but that's not new
  6. Not really sure how it's mou's fault at all. It was blatantly obvious that it wasn't a card. I honestly don't think it was a foul at all. He caught up with delph and then ran beside him. They both stuck there arms out like 3 inches but neither pulled the other one back. No reason for it to be called a foul at all
  7. I don't mean this in a sarcastic way, but what do you mean by putting that there?
  8. Oh so sorry, I didn't mean to upset the all mighty TX. I can put my input on it just as much as you can. I just stated my opinion. Numbers now-a-days aren't really just for positions though. Neymar took the no. 10 from Oscar when it's Oscar that plays that position. I know it's related to position, but if it's that's really the reason then people would be assigned those numbers and whoever was playing in that position would for sure have that number. That's not completely how it works now. And it's ridiculous that you think cause I have my opinion that is different than your perfect one that I'm the reason Chelsea gets accused of that.
  9. Yea I know that it matters to a lot people but I've never really understand why. It's just a number. Now I could see it from a marketing stand point but I couldn't care less about what numbers people are
  10. Didn't have that good of a game, I mean look at his passing accuracy. Obviously didn't deserve MOTM. :ph34r2:
  11. If they really did offer 40 million on their first official bid like it seems the. That means we will get more than that. I'm sure that we would atleast negotiate and get more. That's a lot of money for him. But if this is the first bid they made, nobody knows if we are going to accept. If they offer 40 then they are willing to go more...
  12. http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/275329.html?CMP=chrome Some interesting stuff here. I wonder what the bids prices were in the summer. Edit: Sorry guys, just realized it's mostly likely already been posted
  13. I think it's more of him saying next season is a huge season for us. He's talked about this season not being as important for winning the title and it's transition. I know it's mind games and taking the pressure off us but I think he's partially serious. We need to mature as team and it's happening faster than I thought it would. But I think he will put matic in the team quickly. Not starting Sunday, but starting very soon (especially if he comes on and impresses). The part about him next season is him saying he will be a big part of our future and hopefully next season is when it all comes together. Jose did say we will make a couple clinical signings over summer
  14. I don't care if your right with these points or not, but your constant hate of mikel is so old and annoying. Can you find anything else to talk about? I don't post much, but it's getting way too old. We get that you don't like mikel...I think everybody gets that. Stop talking about it in every thread
  15. I'm an American and this guy is my favorite American player by some distance. I love him as player and rate him highly, but I don't think he'd add too much to our squad. He's a player that to me is good at most everything but doesn't excel a tremendous amount. He is a workhorse with tons of energy. He tackles well. He positions himself well. He is intelligent in his play. He is pretty tidy with ball. Good passing. But doesn't really excel. His passing range is a little limited. He's only but so good in tight areas with the ball. It's annoying people just laughing at this, but it's how it goes with all American players. Even though in all honesty, we aren't that good. I personally don't want him in our squad. Not in the tier of the player we need. I don't think this is even a possibility anyways.
  16. Lampards defending has been shocking
  17. I wrote last year in this thread I thought his future would be as a cm. I know it might just be me but he reminds a lot of scholes. His passing range has that type of potential. Obviously scholes was a plain awful tackler too so that is also what made me think of him. But like many have said. If he works on his defense, he could be amazing there. I have really big doubts about it and honestly don't think it will happen, but I could see it
  18. Okay, fair enough, I have not seen that but judging from his recent comments it seems like he doesn't respect him at all.
  19. Exactly, those people respected him even though he was always so outspoken. They gave him the stepping stones to become who he is. It's hard to respect people how don't respect you; AVB doesn't respect what mou did for him so mou doesn't respect him anymore.
  20. I stumbled across this article on fourfourtwo and thought it was a brilliant and interesting article. It gives a lot of insight on mou's career before he became a manager. I just decided to pick out my favorite parts. From The Translator to The Special One Read the full article at http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/you-know-pep-im-kind-big-deal-round-here “He was the translator when he arrived,” says a senior member of staff at Barcelona who worked with the pair. “But he was also assistant coach. The two roles were incompatible and that became apparent after just two or three press conferences. Rather than translate Mr Robson’s words, Mourinho would add his own opinions. He’d protect his boss as well – he’d have arguments with journalists. We had to pull him back from translating.” "Jose was to prove a marvellous asset, covering my back and looking after me while building up a good rapport with the players of the three clubs we have been at together. Whenever I needed his support he was there, even though it often meant putting himself in the firing line.” ---- I love this about him. The way he sticks up for his boss here reminds me of how much he sticks up for his players now. At Sporting, the Englishman had started sending Mourinho to scout forthcoming opponents. What he got back stunned him. “He’d come back and hand me a dossier that was absolutely first class,” said Robson in 2005. “As good as anything I’d received. Here he was, in his early thirties, never been a player or a coach to speak of, giving me reports that were as good as anything I ever got.” Future scouts working under Mourinho would be admonished or not used at all if their reports weren’t up to scratch, as one of Benfica’s technical staff discovered when he reported back to the Portuguese in 2000 – a report which contained only nine outfield players. ----This shows how particular he is about everything. And also just how important this aspect is to him as a manager. Shows that AVB really did do an incredible job at it. He stayed at Barcelona for one unhappy – “professionally and personally” – final year, in which he admitted he’d become “a frustrated coach, somewhat harsh, even overly critical” ---- Reminds me a bit of the Madrid situation last year “One of the most important things I learned from Bobby Robson is that when you win, you shouldn’t assume you are the best, and when you lose, you shouldn’t think you are rubbish. Bobby Robson is not so interested in study and systems or planning of training sessions. He’s
a field man, who thrives on direct contact with the players. He is also a coach dedicated to attack. If we divide the game into three areas of build-up, you would say Bobby Robson’s work is to focus on the final third. It meant that a lot of the emphasis of my work was towards the defence.” ---- This to me just makes me think that this might be a bit of the reason one why he knows just how important defense is. If he worked basically non-stop with that for multiple years, it's obvious that it influenced him and gets engraved in the way he thinks. The last thing I noticed was how much it talked about how he had this special type of relationship with the players. He always won the respect of the players and has a knack for knowing how to hit the right buttons for them. For me, more than anything, he is the master of the psychology of the players.
  21. You ever stopped to think that maybe he told them that if he wasn't gonna get a lot of playing time he wanted to be sent on loan. He could have told him that BEFORE we decided to send him on loan. And they called him at 19pm or whatever to tell him he was
  22. I know many people who tore a cruciate ligament and tried to run around and play after. Obviously they had to stop because the pain was so bad, but it's happened many times
  23. Looks like MvG will get the start with mou saying he picked four players 22 or under. That is unless he decides to start Schurlle up top. Torres Hazard-Oscar-KDB (or Schurlle) MvG-Lampard Cole-Terry-Cahill-Azpi Cech Bolded are the ones that are 22 or under. Yes, I'd rather have etoo start but i dont think he will. I'm guessing Willian will make his debut sometime during the game
