He's David Speedie with an exotic twist.. He'll be hated by opposing fans all over the world and i'll love him for it.

I think Cesc can wipe his hands clean of that defeat..it was their back 4 and former great keeper who caused it.
-
Only in football can you be shit at your job for multiple years and still keep your job.

I think we will just have 17 non-homegrown..JT,Cahill and Fabregas and use youngsters like Swift,Baker etc...youngsters that aren't counted in the 24..when you think about it Moses would be 3rd choice on either Wing..might aswell be Swift to play in Milk cup games etc..than just keep players who don't really have a future with us. I wouldn't mind keeping Bertrand tho as back up LB.

27 year old Fabregas >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 36 year old Lampard. Some of us spend thousands following Chelsea every year...why should we be against the club signing players who can help us get the Premiership back so a nice guy whose legs have gone and is a shadow of his former self without them can plod along whilst our rivals keep collecting titles.
-
He was imo the only Brazilian player who deserved to be on the winning side..take him out of their side and at best they deserved a draw. Both Keepers looked like the second coming of the immortal Les Fridge. :eyebrows:

Great performance. I don't expect 22 year olds to be consistently great in various roles.
-
The way 21/22 year olds get slaughtered by our own fans when they go through their growing pains.it's probably for the best that we keep loaning our youngsters away.
-
27m for a player of his quality..a bargain in these times. If you want to play in London there's only one club for players with high ambition. Matic and Fabregas should be a great duo and those who play ahead of them will be well fed by them. Two or three more signings and i think we are set and maybe won't need to buy anymore for a few years if youth gets developed well.

Ballack was fucking superb btw..wtf?? Imo he proved without any doubt what a class player he was by adapting his game when he came to us..he played second fiddle to Lampard in our midfield but whenever Lampard was out or underperforming he was there to take over. There's very few better complete CM's in the history of the game and was technically the most gifted CM we have ever had along with Gullit (tho Ballack was better in his Chelsea days than Ruud was in his)

For me i won't add any of the great players that have been mentioned as over rated.i don't know how great players can be over rated really. For me i will go Doug Rougvie..rated as the best left back in europe when we signed him..he was pretty shit really..only remarkable gift he had was as an headcase. In one game against Wimbledon's notorious on field thugs he once got sent off for headbutting John "Fash the bash" Fashanu.

John Charles is classed by many to be the greatest british player of all time and among the best worldwide..he was welsh too so Giggs atleast has competition.
-
I'd pay those cunts 27m in penny coins..a compromise.

Whilst i believe Courtois is the longterm first team GK in waiting,i expect him to have some problems in his first season here so would want us to keep Cech for 1 more season for that reason (and a few others) Cech is apparently likely to miss the start of the season,so Courtois can start the season and we take it from there. We let Courtois go on loan in World cup year when it would have been better for us to have him in our squad instead of Schwarzer. We have employed Cech for 10 years on high wages and given him the oppurtunities to play in many big games and win alot of medals. Both of them should atleast be prepared to compete for one year.

Personally i would pick Kenny O..but think Jose will favour Zouma because he was signed on his watch. For it not to be him i expect Kenny would have to be the star player for Nigeria in them getting to the semi's in the World cup and/or a place on the all World cup team, as one of the best CB's in the tournament. I can see the huge potential in Zouma but as they stand today,i'm not a great fan of his yet.

Like i said if a youngster is promoted to be Matic's understudy like Chalobah then i'm all for it.in a 4-2-3-1 formation tho Mikel as a DM if Matic missed time is alot better option than having Ramires who isn't good at tackling, keeping possesion or passing..Van Ginkel could maybe evolve into the position but is at this point better at the other CM position as is Fabregas. So for those 2 CM positions you have one at DM and 3 to play the other. There's no one really there without Mikel to partner Matic if we want to shut up shop in midfield with 2 DM's Another option would be to bring Oriel back to be Matic's back up..but again not ideal.
-
If him leaving is to give Chalobah( or someone like Loftus-Cheek) the understudy to Matic role in a 4-2-3-1 then i'm all for it. If that is not the case then i'd rather keep Mikel.he would be good to have on the bench..to cover for Matic and also if we have Matic and Fabregas as our two CM's. Are ahead in a game and want to shut up shop we can bring on Mikel for Fabregas. Matic is clearly better than Mikel but after Matic there is not many better at that role around and even fewer willing to not be 1st choice.
-
Thought he was good enough to be our 4th option CB with starts in all milk cup games, some fa cups and against some prem and european cup games. The best of our current group of young centerbacks in their current development..hopefully Kenny O is the next man up in our 1st team squad now because Zouma looks like he certainly needs more seasoning before playing for us.

He cleared the bad chapter in his chelsea story book in 2012 that had lingered since 2008 and left at the perfect time that very few players if any others can..how many other players have won a European cup with his last kick for their club? The timing was perfect, it is the clubs fault that they haven't filled his old position with a good replacement(until Costa) but a 36 year old drogba is not the answer..i wish he would atleast become Lukaku's agent-mentor. I do think Lukaku being called a Chelsea fan before he came was a case of him being more a Drogba fan than the club itself.

Croatia is not a cold weather country..it'll be a bit warmer in Brazil but not to the point where they will struggle because of it.
-
It used to be Darren Wood...or as we called him on the terraces Sharon.
-
In a 4-3-3 he does have some value if our full backs are bombing forward he can cover for them etc...but in a 4-2-3-1 there's nowhere he fits in that formation.
-
In a 4-2-3-1 when Matic - Fabregas need time out or are injured we would have Chalobah,Van Ginkel (maybe Tiago) ,Oriel,Baker,Loftus-Cheek..light on experience but what worth is experience if your passing skills are that of a fat kid in the school yard..
-
The 4-2-3-1 doesn't really play to Rami's strengths..i was one of the few who liked the signing when he came but think we are evolving into a team where he doesn't really fit anymore. If they offer 25m then take it already.

Sky sports are just reporting what was misquoted yesterday in online paper sites. No big deal really..but Torres is the elephant in the room who needs to be taken out so young strikers like Lukaku and Bamford can do something worthwhile with all that playing time he gets .
