Yeah! When he said he doesn't care what others think, that's when I felt proud that he's our Captain!
-
He was asked whether it's weird for him without Ash and Frank and obviously he said it's strange for him. But then he talked about his concentration this season, "I've got a big contract and I have to work hard to make sure I get a new one", so he's not resting on his laurels. He knows his seasons are numbered but you can tell he's working harder and harder to continue trying to prolong his Chelsea career.

Anyone catch John Terry interview post-match? Man we're lucky this guy's our captain..
-
Imagine Drogba as our number 9.. I'd buy that shirt
-
yeah but at the same time, I don't feel he'll get 100% of the choice involved. it's a commercial decision of the club too, players with 1-11 will generally generate more sales. Of course exceptions exist like 25 and 26 for Zola and Terry respectively.
-
Like his Insta shows, if he leaves here it will be as a Champions League final winner and starter and with the respect of fans alike.

Interesting quote. does that give insight into where he will play for us? Ozil occupies the n10 for Arsenal..
-
no disrespect to Everton, but if that's the club that will acquire his signature from us.. well that says a lot. both in terms of who actually rates him on a pedestal and how good HE believes he is..
-
I do doubt that. probably, as someone said before, someone else has laid claim to that.. though if we don't reassign 8 I would be more inclined to agree. -- I find it interesting now that the Club are announcing fee agreements prior to official signings. we've been craving for better information from the club, it's a good new trend, let's hope it won't backfire one day.

I think Pep made him do a Scholes tbh
-
Really?! Thought he would've fancied Euro 2016 at least
-
usual rhetoric from club captain. signings speak for themselves, the 'young players' will remain to be seen.. it indeed they will be seen.

Going, sitting in the usual MH Stand

I hope he does wear 3, I know it's superficial but it seems traditional. If anything, Matic should be granted no6

That was the rumour, however Madrid then bought Mandzukic and it effectively put an end to that rumour. it could still be in the works with the Luis deal, but I doubt it, Lukaku himself probably wouldn't want it.

Ah interesting about Romeu. Yeah I do get what you mean regarding not having room to have 'one bad' season in this context (waiting for the inevitable Torres line from a troll). However in the bigger scheme of things, allowances have to made in the case of guys like Chalobah. We can't let him down like we did with McEachran. Nat can't go on any old loan next, it has to be carefully decided and I don't trust Chelsea to be able to do that tbh.

But that's unfair a but Chou, regarding Forest. Their manager was clueless and he'd already earned his striped at a club that far exceeded that of Nottingham's. It's good news he's signed a new contract, it means the club have spoken to him in high regard, so maybe one more loan isn't the worst thing. But something has to give in terms of giving him a fair opportunity.
-
His loan spell was useless, iirc it was only when he joined Boro in the second half of last season where he came back to life. We can't forget his contributions at Watford the season before, played around 38 games for them and became influential.
-
Smh, every week he does this nonsense.. getting pretty ridiculous and boring now. Considering people have been banned for a lot less.
-
I don't get it about Allegri, didn't exactly set the world on fire at AC milan. Albeit he dealt with a lot of boardroom politics. Napoli and Roma will be ready to pounce on this opportunity to displace Juventus now though!
-
To be fair, there's been nothing to speak of lately lol. I think we're just hoping that he won't go on loan and Mourinho will give him a chance.. Which doesn't seem likely this season.

It's always been a highlight to me that every manager that we've had have picked out their 'favourites' in the youth team. Ancelotti chose Borini/McEachran, Benitez chose Ake etc. So with that said, our revolving door policy has allowed so many of these players to leave outright when they could've had the opportunity to make it. It makes me think that if we had Shaw in our academy he would've never made it to the level he's at now. Mourinho has seemed to earmark Kalas for now, even in spite of his loan, so perhaps there's an opportunity for him. Hopefully after yesterday he'll also taking a liking for Bamford too. As for Josh, this loan to Spain just seems as pointless as all the others. In 2.5 years this will be his 5th loan or something, none of which have done anything for him. He needs a permanent move away I think, to a club with lower expectations and with a manager who truly has time and patience to nurture talent.
