Hell when we played that return game vs Sunderland, when Carlo put Anelka behind 2 strikers we all praised his contribution and even found him as man of the match. (for the record: I'd still sell Anelka)

Anelka's finishing has nothing on Kalou. Give him the ball one-on-one with the keeper.. Out of 100 shots he'll bury 95. The only reason we're not fans of Anelka is because he drifts off to deep. I'd rather have him "warm the bench" than Kalou, because at least Anelka got the experience and skill to hold the ball, run with the ball & even look more likely to score. Not hating on Kalou, just calling it like it is.

Agree with this completely! Everyone's saying Torres will deliver next season, and I'm one of the ones who's also hopefully of this. HOWEVER we must be prepared if he doesn't recapture his past form. It's well documented his troubles go beyond the time he transferred to us (pre-World Cup).. So we really do have to prepare if he's unable to score, cue Falcao. We all saw what happened last season when Didier Drogba got his malaria. Our whole attacking department broke down.

We should not keep players because they're good "squad players". We should have players who have the potential to push for a starting place, hence increasing competition.. Which increases the work-rate of the players in that competition. Do you really think Torres & Sturridge will now look at Kalou as serious competition? No. And nor do we. There is no case for Kalou except the case for him to leave. It's not out of being spoilt, it's out of watching him not progress in the 6 seasons he's been here.

Good read.. Really hope the club are doing something about our large wage-bill at the moment. Despite shedding a couple of million off it last summer, it's still quite high and needs to be dealt with in the immediate future.
