Here's some fun stats for us. England's club representatives: 4 - Chelsea, Man United, Liverpool & City. 2 - Arsenal & Tottenham 1 - Everton, Norwich & West Ham If Sturridge does find his way in, it'll be 5 for Chelsea!
Things wrong with this squad: Richards, Downing & Barry. Anyway I see nothing in this squad to indicate any hope of going past group stages. Brilliant.
The term 'ruining a winning formula' comes to mind. In any case, I'd rather see him in that 4-2-3-1 aside a natural DM (MIKEL.). That way the DM can win the ball, play Ramires through to make those incredible runs from deep. That way we'd still have the security of having Mikel marshal the back while Ramires is free to make those breakthrough runs. To keep him locked behind the centre-line would be an insult to his ability.
Lukaku would be on loan, presumably and I don't think any manager will take a punt on Sturridge. Falcao in January won't happen. Letico will still be in the Champions League and will not lose their main striker and star in mid-season, there will be no replacement.
But the question is, do we take a punt on that by not approaching a striker like Falcao this summer? Because if he doesn't step up, we're fucked again till Jan.
With Smalling out Roy might be forced to pick Terry. Jagielka's been a shadow of his former prime, Rio got nothing on Terry this season and Jones is still pretty raw. Though a snub will work just as well for us, so either way it's a win-win as fair as I'm concerned.
