RDM wasn't at fault too much, the boys couldn't finish today and let in a weak goal. I'm laughing at Liverpool fans who are celebrating this like its a victory. This reaffirms that we need someone lethal up front. I've had it with FT. He didn't have a bad game to be honest but Torres doesn't cut it, he's shown nought that he can lead the forward line effectively, and Sturridge doesn't get games. I wasn't expecting us to win the league anyway, so I don't want us to get a new striker in January just in vain, unless a top quality one is available at a decent price. It's always bad when a draw feels like a loss. Hope RDM sorts the minor details out soon. Hope JT's alright too - look how much better we looked like as a team when he was on. We need to pick up 3 points in the league ASAP.

Wow, if Hoddle says it it must be true! Come on dude...
-
Wtf? Cahill has played about 5/6 games in a row. How does Robbie hate him? Don't be so ridiculous. Interesting defence today though. Buzzing for Azpilicueta.
-
People don't have the patience for Danny, they've already written him off after aroun 150 mins of football - but like you said... We'd have to sell Torres before bringing in another striker of his supposed calibre. I'd love a strike force next season of Cavani - Sturridge - Lukaku or even Jovetic - Sturridge - Lukaku or Falcao perhaps. I think that's enough.
-
I'd much rather Cavani, Falcao or Jovetic.
-
Again I ask, what role will Fellaini play for the team?
-
Jovetic would fit in quite nicely as well. He can finish excellently, is very intelligent in his play and would be able to interchange with the OHM trio easily. He's young too. Someone like him who has the potential to be world class, and the potential to grow with OHM would be top of my list.
-
Huntelaar? He would be such a backwards signing.
-
I was reading this article the other day, and I think Mata created a chance every 21 minutes whilst Silva was around 24 last season.
-
Yes we can still win the title, but it's naive to think we definitely will, I still believe we'll finish 3rd due to us being a side in transition. We're building for the future, and as long as we give it a valiant effort this season I'll be happy.
-
If worst gets to worst, I'd rather much we recall Lukaku. No need to buy another striker just yet IMO. We still haven't seen Sturridge given a prolonged run in the team so I'd rather take my chances in January (unless the opportunity to get like a Cavani arrives at a decent price in January which is very unlikely) so that in the summer we're in a prime position to get a better striker than Torres and possibly offload Torres as well if we need to. Remember, we're a squad in transition still, there is no need to rush our decisions. If we sign Bony in January we're with him for a long time because he's young and we aren't a selling club - barring something unnatural happens of course. Maybe during that time he'll develop into one of the supreme strikers in the world but my gut feeling tells me there'll probably be better options around.
-
See, this guy is good. Seen 2/3 St. Ettiene games and I must say he does seem like a danger man. I'd prefer him over Bony because he'd fit in more in our system, but lets just see how the season pans out for this lad.
-
Which is why I want us to wait till the summer, where there's bound to be more options.
-
If we sign Fellaini, what role do people expect him to play for us? He's a good player but he doesn't fit.
-
Again I wouldn't say that I want us to sign a world class striker, but what I do want is someone who has the potential to be. I don't see that with Bony - who knows, he might just become a world class player but I think the chances are slim. I would be a little bit disappointed if we signed him, but if he did of course I'd root for him - if he even went to prove me wrong then fine but like I said, I think we can do better.
-
Newcastle have made good signings but lets be honest - are the likes of Demba Ba, Cisse, Santon, Tiote, Cabaye et al good enough to lead the club? How many of them would start for us? Some would say yes, but I believe we at CFC are more ambitious than that. Granted they're all very good players, none of them would get into a Real Madrid or Barcelona regularly. I think we at CFC are as big as the aforementioned so we should aim for players that are not only very good, but players that have the potential to fit in our playing style and the potential to be world class. I'm talking about signings like Oscar, Hazard - Benzema, di Maria - Alexis, Piqué, Alba etc... just a couple of examples. For our centre forward I want us to sign the next striking sensation. Someone that has the same potential as Hazard and Oscar. I don't see that with Bony - I think Bony can become a very good player - just not world class. That's all well and good but I think at CFC we can do better. Just my opinion.
-
Come on, he's been good whilst at West Brom, one poor game shouldn't completely change your mind on him.
-
Personally I'd rather wait till the summer. I know Torres is frustrating right now but patience is a virtue. Wait till the summer where the market is a lot more open in my opinion. Then we can really choose.
-
Mind you he's 4 years older than Lukaku. Like I've said before, I think we can do better, find a striker that's a bit more suitable to the style of play we're heading to.
-
My point is, if we're going to sign a striker, let's sign one that will actually lead the team from the get go... For example a Cavani or Falcao. Of course that'd mean us moving Fernando on, but I'd rather that than sign a Bony/Schurrle/Remy to be honest. I'd rather wait till the summer and sign a striker that'll overtake as our number one striker for definite.
-
There's an example above posted by DYC. Isn't it an indicator that someone who creates fewer chances but has more of them converted is more efficient? Playmaking is not just about "creating chances" or who has the most key passes. It's about being the brains of your team. Out of those you've mentioned, none have been better than Mata at that aspect.
-
Go watch the CL final again and tell me with a straight face that Courtois is better than Cech.
-
And stats prove you're wrong...
-
Nah, we can do better. Why sign Bony when we've got better options?
-
Lampard said that Bertrand is one of fastest in the squad if I remember correctly.
