I think we respect your opinion, but are looking for some factual evidence as to why you are posting he wont come and will renew with Juventus. Maybe on future posts add that it is in your opinion with no factual proof? Just trying to make things smoother. On a lot of things I post i try to add certain words confirming it is my opinion alone with no facts or making it clear i am posting about a hypothetical situation. With so many rumours going around this time of year most people are looking for some factual backup.

After some reading scouting reports etc that were similar, there was a line that stuck out and clarified to me why Conte would be after him. Matic is still a good player, but 40m is too much to turn down. It is just good business by the club. He will be a thorn in our side when we play them and will be a good addition for them. but I view bakayoko as an upgrade to Matic and we essentially will get Contes 1st choice CM + cash if this deal gets done. Sucks selling to a rival/Jose but this is a great return.

I think they are equally as likely. Conte likes to be tactically flexible, Azpi/Sandro give him that flexibility. It will be interesting to see how he sets us up. Bakayoko is the key for the 424 if Conte does indeed want to play that, I think we will still see alot of 3 at the back be it 343 or 352.

He certainly would be better at crossing than Moses. In an ultra defensive lineup or against big squads he could solidify while we attack down the left and counter. Its just a thought as to why we might not be linked with a RWB

If we do not sign someone to compete with Moses than I have to believe Conte thinks Azpi can do the job when he needs and we play Cahill/Christensen/VVD for the 2 wide CB roles. Or maybe it just wasnt his highest priority? I think Moses/Azpi will be the RWB options for the next year personally. I think he is higher on Moses than most people on here.

Honestly, I love Bonucci he is my favourite defender in the world. But VVD is a physical monster, comfortable playing LCB, a goal threat, and much younger. He is good with the ball and comfortable in the prem(not a huge deal, but still counts) and most importantly he slides into a position on our team perfectly which we all agree needed upgrading. The price is high, but that can be said about most transfers in todays game, plus its not my money so i am taking the Man United/Man City approach in that if the club wants to pay it doesn't affect me, ill just be happy seeing him on our team! (if he does indeed come) I read somewhere that Conte wants 2 options per position, with VVD we solidify that LCB between he and Cahill. He also can play RCB if we need. I will be more than happy if we close the deal. Eden Hazard is the big winner this summer, he went from Alonso/Matic/Cahill to possibly Sandro/Bakayoko/Van Dijk. That is an upgrade across the board and shows intent to go for serious trophies

I think Atleti will want to make this relatively smooth, accept a decent price for him and lets all just move on. If they try to fuck with us and low ball I would almost rather we sit his ass down and just leave him to rot without playing as opposed to taking a shit price. Such a shame he is leaving like this and tarnishing all the fans memories of him.

Do we think Conte believes he can play LCB/RCB? when we initially went to 3 cbs I thought he could fill the Chiellini role of marauding forward, similar to the role Azpi played this year. I worry about his individual defending out wide, in the very small sample size with JT in the middle he didnt look good as we all know but that could be down to not understanding the role? If we get Bonucci I wouldnt be surprised to see him kick out wide, which makes me very nervous but if Conte can drill him into playing that well all year in the middle I have faith he can make him successful out wide.
