  1. I think he will definitely be back here next year. The current transfer price for a good striker is absolute madness. If Tammy shows he can hold up against PL competition and pot some goals he will be back here next year and possibly even see Bats move on unless he shows Conte he can do it this year. If i had to place a bet id put Tammy between 10-15 goals this year with some growing pains but will be a successful season.
  2. I hope RLC gets a full season in the CP midfield and shows his potential. I always dreamed he would be a B2B for us, Conte had him playing too high up for me personally. Lets hope he finally puts it all together and comes back to be a contributor in our Midfield. I am back on the hype train with him.
  3. Conte expressed he wants 2 players per position. Cahill/VVD for LCB Luiz/Christensen for MCB Azpi/Rudiger as RCB VVD arrival does not effect Christensen as he will be battling Luiz for playing time. Azpi to me is fine cover for RWB but I would prefer someone more dynamic going forward who can cover back on D. Moses/Ox/Aurier are the type of players I covet for WB roles. We have the center of the park locked up with Kante/Baka so we need creativity out wide. I too believe Sandro deal is done but he hasnt signed the contract yet and we havent been looking at anyone else so something is fishy in that situation. Courtois Azpi/Rudi Luiz/Christensen VVD/Cahill Moses/Aurier Cesc/Kante/Baka/(DW?) Alonso/Sandro Willian/Pedro Hazard/Musonda Morata/Bats Fast, Physical, Skilled. A conte type team, one I would be THRILLED to see and we would be competitive on all fronts.
  4. Great player, I'd rather mold Ox into a RWB than rely on this guy solely due to his unpredictability and behavior issues. Conte needs his players to buy in for his style of play. to work as a team and do as the coach says. I can see this guy butting heads and that is not what we need. Maybe he just needs a new scene, maybe he just needs a coach with a firm grasp on the team to keep him in line, maybe drogba can make it clear to him that he needs to behave, These are all maybes and ones that are concerning. If we sign him I am cautiously optimistic cause the dude can ball but we saw how Conte/Costa got along and this feels like a similar pair. Hope i am wrong though cause he could be right up there as a top RWB if he buys into what Conte is selling.
  5. Drinkwater for 40 is bad, drinkwater for 25-30 for me is a good deal. We would pocket that extra money and have a more than serviceable player in drinkwater being our depth option at a bigger club. I agree the money needs to be spent properly and our team is too thin, partly because how the Mourinho years ended our squad was littered with old expensive players and it takes a few years to build the team back up in the new coaches vision. the money from deals like this will help.
  6. I understand that, but a few isn't alot. He needs to focus on understanding Contes Idea of CB before he attempts to fill in at CM. Some fans online want multiple massive signings which isnt realistic. I would welcome drinkwater happily for 25m and feel comfortable with him. Baka is our CM stud signing, if we can convince Bayern to let go of Sanches then we will truly be spoiled, if not ill take drinkwater and feel confident when he is on the field.
  7. because Baker can't play b2b and is defensively liable. and Christensen might have the skills but thats a massive role and dangerous counting on a young player out of position for an increased schedule.
  8. The team recognizes that the player is no longer integral and decides to maximize their value in the market and normally recoups our fee or we make money on a player who would not accept a diminshed role. Muller had a down year but is integral to Bayern. Martial is a young player still proving himself. Matic is a 29 yr old player on high wages who would not be happy getting half the time he is used to. This is a game and a business, we excel at both aspects. Selling Matic for 40m is good business. Cech would never have accepted a diminished role behind Courtois and he deserved our respect and Mata wasn't in the managers plans and we got a huge fee for him. At the moment we are admittedly thin but the window isn't closed and we look to be working on bringing in players. Good players don't prefer to sit on Uniteds bench, they dont have good bench players at all. City has a glut of attackers but Pep has an allure over that position and they usually lose a huge amount of outgoing players. I respect our Board when they see the writing on the wall with a player or the manager lets them know he isn't in their plans they get out and for a profit.
  9. Id still much prefer Sanches if we get an option to buy. not convinced this deal will happen but if its 25-30 for a 27 yr old b2b HG midfielder who helped anchor a PL winning side, id happily take it. he might not be spectacular but he could help us win the PL and i would feel more than comfortable as a depth option no matter who his partner would be. Baka > Matic Drinkwater > Chalobah
  10. Of the 3 english players linked (Ox, Drinkwater, Barkley) i prefer Ox the most. He is the most physical and has great speed. He could be an excellent RWB like moses, but on steroids essentially. i view him as an upgrade in pretty much every sense to Moses, he is faster, stronger, better ball skills, better passing range. Conte could work wonders with him and I would be happy with those 2 HG options at RWB with Azpi cover. for 25m i think he could help our team.
  11. A 1 or 2 year loan with option to buy is ideal, but Bayern normally get what deal they want in the market. I am a big believer of his talent, I think Bakayoko/Sanches/Kante/Fab would be a stunning midfield this year and moving forward. Sanches has that bit of offensive game that he could play next to Kante or Baka in a 2 or form a really nice 3 with Fab/Sanches/Kante(or Baka) as he develops he could turn into a really great complete b2b. The key is to sign him, not loan, and let Conte get to work on his confidence. Plus we don't have that b2b type player in our youth program either.
  12. Would happily welcome him into the fold. Can be a great contributor while ageing out once Youth grows up or we look again in a couple of years. For the right price? Bring in a conte soldier who knows his role. I'm on board
  13. Guy is now publicly begging for signings. Let's hope we can get to work and bring him in some players asap.
  14. Good game, incredibly tricky player with some great footwork. Key is his physical build that's the biggest problem with Musonda is he looks like a 13 year old physically. Would like to see Boga get a spot this year and get some decent run.
  15. I heard Conte wanted 2 cb's this summer. Would hurt Cahill the most if this wildly hypothetical transfer were to happen. I think VVD would go to city/pool/or us happily. I don't see his or rudigers presence affecting Christensen since he plays middle of the 3 while the others are wide
  16. Van Dijk ordered to train alone at Southampton by Pellegrino. Due to toxic atmosphere after he told club he wants to leave.
  17. i agree, but still having extremely talented players then figuring out how they fit is the managers job. Will be quite the scenes if they manage to pull off both transfers.
  18. Cavani, Neymar, Alexis, Verratti, Di Maria, Draxler. Sorry Monaco you guys are fucked hahaha what a wrecking crew that is. Wouldn't mind a cheeky bid for Di Maria, I really like him as a player and his failure at United is more to do with their Incompetence rather than his.
  19. If we can't have him I hope he enjoys Paris. We will deal with him in the CL if need be but I'd rather him there than Arsenal or City.
  20. If true I would welcome him with open arms, physical beast, super direct. Different type of player than sandro but one that fits our style perfectly Was my first choice LWB before Sandro became a possibility
  21. says we want to be "kept informed on the progress of Mendy's transfer" Sandro/Mendy/Bertrand one of the 3 and ill be happy. Juve is always open to do business but they need to control the perception at the moment, brought in Di Sciglio i suspect bernardeschi wont be far behind. then we have a chance to do the Matic + cash swap for Sandro. If not move on quickly to Mendy, can't wait if Mendy does indeed wants to come to us.
  22. for me the easiest way to understand "low football IQ" I relate it to my main sport of basketball. When a player can see the game before it happens and react quicker, seeing the pass before the pass or understanding the angles needed more inherently. Lebron James is a maestro on the court cause he understands what everyone is doing and should be doing then can take advantage of the situation quicker and correctly more so than other players. Wayne Gretzky in hockey (i am canadian after all) had a telepathic understanding of his surroundings and where he needed to be. Maybe when people speak about Lukaku and a "low football IQ" maybe they just mean he doesnt seem to make the right inherent decision quick enough or accurately all the time? He has a load of physical ability and when the opportunity presents itself he puts the ball in the back of the net as good as anyone but he doesn't see the whole picture all the time which can slow down your reading of the game which in turn slows down how you play the game? I admit i don't understand the low football IQ arguement as well but I always relate it back to basketball and when I do that it helps me understand a little bit. There are always players who have everything but can never quite put it all together to get to the next level. Edit: @Rekin was writing mine as your reply tab came up, similar thoughts on the matter after i saw what you wrote when i posted haha
  23. Its from a fashion line he supports or owns called https://thejunglewarriors.com/ it helps support endangered animals.
  24. both very valid points to disagree on. As far as Michy/Morata you could very well be correct but I believe each have the necessary skill set to be able to play together if it is what Conte wants. I am not so sure Conte wants that but it is an option that could be looked at on the practice field. In regards to the price, I agree with your statement but the PL will not be exercising self-control as long as the Manchesters are spending like crazy and clubs like Everton are splashing cash the way they have been. We live in a new reality with new prices. To say Madrid basically don't want Morata isnt necessarily fair, they value him but they are the richest most talented team in the world they have the luxury of being able to sell a player of his quality and not have it hurt their team materially. But overall I agree with your points and accept them.
  25. I respectfully disagree, there is a reason Juventus wanted him ask their fans. Madrid fans seem to love him. Mourinho/Allegri/Conte all rate him. He is a tall, fast, technically gifted striker. He has scored at an elite rate on a per minute of play basis and he is first choice for one of the best National teams in the world. He can use his head or either foot and is a tactically aware player who has shown he thrives in big game settings. Edit: Also just because he isn't wildly demonstrative on the field doesn't mean he is not intense or hard working. Players use their temperament differently, Some of the best players in the world look as you said "nonchalant" on the field It also isnt Morata or Michy it can be Morata WITH Michy in a nice 2 striker system. Also regarding the price tag, I am not as concerned with transfer prices since the market is absolute madness its just the cost of doing business in the PL now with inflated budgets across the board. Edit #2: Here is an article from David Amoyal explaining some of Moratas Allure when he was thought to be Man United target http://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/amoyal-46207
