  1. Price aside, if you look at all the top teams they have unique fullbacks/wing backs. Marcelo gives Real something extra, Alaba gives Munich something extra, Alba(when he was younger) gave Barcelona something extra. To have such skill on the wings who isn't a defensive liability opens up so many different things going forward. Just the threat of them out wide pulls a defender a bit further out and makes them think twice, plus any extra space can be exploited by the attacking players giving them more room to operate. Plus Sandro is one of the most accurate crossers in the world it seems, so having a big goal scoring striker like Lukaku getting on the end will be dangerous
  2. Ahahaha Full Wiz is a tough spot for sure. But as far as skill, goal scoring record, and youth he is a great combo. If you could have one of the 3 for the next 5-7 seasons who would you take?
  3. You give me the choice right now between Alexis, James, Dele or whoever. I'd take Dele before any and wouldn't blink.
  4. "Hypothetically" I would absolutelty pay 88M for him, yes. Kid is a goalscoring machine. Tough and aggressive. Would fit us perfectly. Plus he can blast the wonder goal in from time to time and smacks them from outside the box i love love Mbappe but For this kid to be such a threat at his age and established in the prem is something else.
  5. I think we are looking, but to the squad it isn't a top priority at the moment based solely off the lack of links to players that fit the category you'd like. Maybe after we close some of these deals they will turn their attention. You may not rate him but I'd love Bernardeschi for that spot.
  6. Don't know a lot about him(at all lol) but if not Sandro(still my 1st choice) I'm glad the club is looking at other options! Gotta be prepared always. I've heard Brazilian LBs from Porto have been quite good lately edit: after some videos I'd be fine with him if Sandro can't be closed. Looks really skilled going forward and offers something different to Alonso. I know it's just YouTube videos but still...encouraging prospect.
  7. I just don't think the team is as worried about the right sided attacker at the moment. Pedro/Willian is pretty strong, striker is our biggest attacking problem with Diego leaving. Ideally it would be someone like Belotti or Lukaku, Batman and Llorente for me. Scoring 15 goals for Swansea is no small feat, shame he broke his arm but I'd be more than comfortable with those 3 at striker.
  8. Huge next two weeks. Gotta show intent for the upcoming season before we take off for the Far East. Ideally we would have Lukaku(or whichever striker) Bakayoko, and Sandro locked up and announced in the next two weeks. Fingers crossed! Gotta stay positive and hopeful.
  9. I question that accounts credibility. It is obviously possible Sandro does sign a renewal, but it feels like its a shot in the dark from them and hoping for clicks/likes/RTs
  10. My point is that you said he was a "German Djilobodji" you didn't say anything about comparing him to Cahill. I agree we do need an upgrade on Cahill, he is a serviceable player but an upgrade could be purchased this summer. Just because we buy Rudiger doesn't mean we wont buy anyone else. Also saying Rudiger is a downgrade on Cahill isnt necessarily fair, he is a talented player as can be seen by playing for the worlds best International team and the 2nd best team in Italy. I am just saying that he is far far better than Djilobodji and maybe even Cahill we don't know, and better than you're giving him credit for based solely on the fact he can play for Germany and Roma (as i said i havent watched enough to give an indepth scouting report on the player)
  11. it is a chore, but id rather have won 2/3 PL titles and the most recent english CL title and have mildly annoying summers than win every summer and win 0. (Yes i know there is sarcasm in your post, just frustrated ahah)
  12. It was quoted that Conte wanted 2 options per position on the field. so if the man wants 6 cbs give him what he wants? None of us know our plan better than Conte/Our Board. As much as we like to think we do, we dont. Edit: I am not advocating for Rudiger in any way, I don't know enough about him to have an educated opinion. The points i am making are solely in Defense of the club buying certain players. They have a plan we have to trust.
  13. He is a German International, and played regularly for the team that finished 2nd in Serie A? He might not be Bonucci but he sure isnt Djilobodji
  14. In competition with the other CB's. Conte will play the best players. Conte has given the board his list and how many players he wants, he knows who is already under contract as well. He wants competition and depth for an expanded schedule and to be able to challenge competitively on all fronts. All of the top teams have insane depth/competitions across their team, we are striving to be a very top team. Because either Conte didn't rate him that high, or more likely that Ake at his current stage of development wants assurances game to game he will get playing time so he can grow and mature. Conte/Chelsea couldn't offer him that. So they sold a player who wasnt considered a requirement for 20M lbs with a buy back option. If Ake comes good we will exercise that option and have the player back in our team. If he never develops into the player some expect we made 20M on a player. It is a win win in my eyes.
  15. Nizaar Kinsella: "Rudiger can play in all three positions in a back three and could do a job at wing back. Chelsea could still get VVD or Bonucci" "Thats the unique attraction to rudiger" Conte did want to bring in versatile people, with Ake gone(for now) and Zouma apparently heading out on Loan bringing in 2 CB's would make sense. Rudiger could just be the first of two purchases + help us in negotiations with other teams by not looking as desperate for a CB.
  16. Because we have a buyback in Akes contract, and the player wants more guaranteed first team starts to progress. If Ake develops into a stud we will exercise our BB options and bring him back.
  17. Long ago i had high hopes that RLC could be that player for us, hard charging box to box or slightly more advanced midfielder who could contribute goals, he plays that position for england youth and excels but for all the chances he has had its been so disappointing. He was showing some more promise towards the end of last year. Too early to write him off but we need to decide on a position for the kid and let him learn.
  18. Me being a Seinfeld fan i always think of "Summer of George!" With all this money built up surely Antonio is thinking to himself "This is the SUMMER OF CONTE!" I think we could be spending more than any of us think. he bumped his ask from 4 to 6 players(allegedly) and is aiming very high. Exciting times.
  19. I have made my love of Belotti known for a very long time, but even I find it hard to believe Conte would be against the signing of Lukaku(if it gets done) i just refuse to believe he would sanction a deal of that size for a player he doesnt want(allegedly). As @OhForAGreavsie said, this feels like old news being brought up again, Im sure Conte loves Belotti (i posted an article where Conte noticed him way back at Palermo) and he leads the italian line but its just easy clickbait to post an article saying "Conte is mad cause he wants player X while chelsea want player Y, coach could walk" Such a shame though, Belotti would be a superstar in the prem. I would be gutted to see him on any other team in the PL besides us.
  20. Read that a buy back option IS included. If that is true, than the deal is fine for me. all parties involved win. He gets his playing time and we still have the lead option to bring him back.
  21. I was determined not to let the hype of Nike + money + Conte + CL lure me into the same transfer season trap. I am so exhausted with all this Sandro stuff now I am fully back to my previous stance of I will believe it when he is announced and holding our jersey up. Until then I believe nothing. Would love the player here, obviously.
  22. I find it very hard to believe we would drop between 150-180m£ on strikers alone. It would be so out of character and Conte wants to replenish a lot of the squad. I would be thrilled if it happened but that's ALOT of cash on one position for one summer
  23. I don't believe we will end up with Belotti. His release is 86M£ Everton want 100m£ for Lukaku. I'm just off in dreamland cause I support Italy and love Belotti. I still think lukaku will be very successful here and get us lots of goals.
  24. Currently lost in a dream of Alex Sandro pin point crossing into the box and Belotti goes all out and heads it in. Conte goes crazy on the sidelines. I'm afraid that's just a crazy dream that will probably never happen...but I'll enjoy it!
  25. I don't care how unreliable Tancredi is, I'll literally grasp at any straw that attaches Belotti to Chelsea. He would be so perfect for our team, I know he has only produced one amazing season but I just love the guy and how he plays. Plus he is Italian which is always bonus points for me.
