Well put. Cant argue with this. Even though there are midfield generals in the mold of xavi-iniesta who are not physically gifted but such players are born once in the life time. (I think KOKE is of the same mold). One thing I dont understand is how asking for a starter CM for next season is an over-reaction. We desperately need one CM and one CAM who are "possession-comfortable" (as you put it).

Would we set up to counter If we had a pivot of say, vidal and pogba? We set up to counter even against the likes of liverpool and spurs because as a team we can not dominate possession against any decent side. Cesc is supposed to be our midfield general, the player through whom everything needs to go through. You cant have your lynchpin losing the ball every time someone presses him. Hence, why i said that we need an upgrade starter on him next season without a shred of doubt. Are you a 10 year old? Who uses "LOL" these days. Also, put something on the table as an argument.

Once a season against top opposition? Thats the level of his consistency then. One free kick absolves him of everything else? He was pathetic today. In the first minutes itself, Zlatan went past him like he was not even there, similar to what Silva had done to him against City when we were outclassed at the start of the season. I would rather have a decent CM who can build up play rather than simply put in Quarter Back like passes against oppositions who would give him more space and time than he could imagine. Also, over-reaction is when people say Cesc is World class for his Newcastle performance. It is not an over-reaction to say that we need a Starter CM for next season because Cesc simply does not cut it against quality opposition and by quality opposition I mean teams like Soton too which can press him and have a field day.

I have seen you bash GC time and again. But give the guy where the credit is due. He was very good. Some pointers out of the game: 1. Hazard needs to go. His attitude stinks. Bench him and play kenedy. 2. Cesc should not even be considered for starting games unless we are playing a lower league opponent, a bottom 5 team, or some israeli/Norwegian team in CL. 3. BABA was sublime. What a massive Fuck up by jose by not giving him a chance. 4. Guus is CLUELESS. He is simply putting out the "best" team (by which i mean the best players with FIFA rating probably). We were getting murdered out there with the midfield getting outclassed and hazard and pedro doing nothing. If it was not for our defence, we would have conceded 5. 5. Need a massive over haul along with a manager with balls. Someone who can put in RLC looking at cesc/pedro/hazard (shift willian to wings in the latter 2 cases) rather than simply play the "experienced" "big names". 6. IF JT is back for the 2nd leg, it would be a Bane because Guus would never start BABA over Iva despite how he performed tonight. His gutlessness would cost us any chance we currently have. To sum it up, not the worst result, definitely reversible. But the manager needs to make some strong calls which he is too pussy to take.

I had obviously meant JOSE MOURINHO. But I can see that this forum not only dislikes him but almost tends to "hate" when talking about a person who is a legend to the club. I think you are going to disrespect him more, so I really dont want to be a part of this conversation.

I respect Kalou-Malouda-Anelka for all that they did for us in the past. BUT, they were 3 of the most frustrating players to watch. Just like pedro is. Also, lets be real, we are ALWAYS going to have management issues. Our one solution to that problem was stupidly cast aside by the board. Also, we have some exceptional talents in our ranks. The likes of kenedy/musonda/boga are worth taking a risk on rather than having pedro in the squad.

The gesture was immense but it begs the question, why did not he simply let luis take the penalty? Why did he feel the need to act a hero? And before people jump down my throat saying "You are simply a messi hater or a CR lover", I should clarify that I am neither. Just think that it could have been avoided by simply giving the ball to Luis.

Brilliant squad and I would rate such a summer as 100/100. Unfortunately the way we are going currently as a club, I simply cant see having the pull of getting the gotzes and matuidis of the world. I dont think stones is a distinct possibility, since he would cost 50million pounds+. Someone like marquinhos/inigo martinez seems more plausible. Another thing is that, I would put pedro on the out list too. Honestly feel moses is better in the long run.

Kante reminds me of essien. Maybe its just the "flavour of the month" thing but I honestly feel he could be someone we can look at in the summer.

Absolutely outrageous if True. We have 25million for ramires, 15 million for salah, 15 million (atleast) for cuadrado, 10 million (i guess) for remy, wages of falcao and pato to be cut off, and the likes of oscar (50+mil offer, i heard) and pedro (another 15million). IF we want any more money then we have the likes of moses and cahill who being homegrown would definitely go for double their value. Willingly selling hazard should not even be an option.

Honestly, I cant see us putting together any winning run. Forget a winning run, we have not won 2 games back to back. What makes you think we can go on a winning run. If the 5 teams directly above us have been wobbly, we have been downright horrendous all throughout the season. IF you were to bet on this, would you bet? As fans we will always be optimistic, but we should also be realistic.
