Brendan had a World class striker in his team along with another brilliant striker who when not injured, definitely has the ability to reach that level. Spurs on the other hand, have no one near to a marquee player. They have a very young team with the likes of Dier, ali, kane, Son, bentalab, mason, eriksen. Except for Vorm, not a single player in their 30s. Dembele, chadli, vertonghen, toby the only players on the wrong side of 25. This spurs squad should not be anywhere close to a title race. Also, the same can be said of Jose and pep, that they have a brilliant plan A and no plan B. Jose's PLan B for us this season was to sub our best defender (azpi), go to a back 3 and throw in falcao in the mix. I do agree with the last part of your post though. That is exactly where in lies our problem. Since Roman has come in, we as a club have become so result oriented that its impossible to give a chance to any youth player. In any other club in the world, ake would be our starting LB for next season after showing how good he has been for watford.

Depends on the manager we get. Jose built up "academy day" in last year's CL group stage day6 and ended giving RLC a couple of minutes. The next manager needs to show more trust in the kids. Not really. If we replace Pjanic with oscar, keep pedro, hazard, willian, kenedy for the wings, musonda can be our 6th AM. obviously, The manager needs to trust the youth as well as rotate the squad, something which did not happen at all under jose for 2 and a half years. Even if we dont buy Pjanic, we will continue to have someone like oscar eating away at the youth players' gametime. Atleast now we will have a quality option.

To be fair, its not about the TOP 4 but TOP 6 now. a season without european football would be disastorous for a club like chelsea. Also, If FA cup results go our way, it might be TOP 7.
